Love the junk yard not only did i go every weekend with my dad as a kid but i get to see all the cool stuff i wanted as a kid now rotting away!
Don't give up man keep posting
I Love the junk yard videos!! Thanks Bro 😎👍
I've actually never even thought about brake pads from a junk yard.
I found brand new in box for my 96 grand Cherokee
Can’t believe you crawled under that WK… held up by only a rim, standing on the rolling side. That was death waiting to happen.
Damn, that Colombia edition was sweet!
My yard puts the keys in the vehicle but I have never seen a key in a wj ever or else id have a spare skim for sure that's a no brainer
For anyone that doesnt know...If you are desperate and dont have a torque bit an alan wrench close in size can work in a pinch
Hey Doug, glad to see more content from you guys recently. How the heck have ya been? I know it's been a long time since I've been active in your comments sections, and honestly I hadn't been watching too many videos. Originally, it was the fact that I had a lot of changes going on in my life, but then because of not watching much, your videos started not making it into my recommendations, and it just snowballed. Over the last two years, we moved from Kent, Washington to a small town in southwestern Washington called Mossyrock, and then about a year ago moved to Caldwell, Idaho (Boise area). It's definitely much more peaceful and cleaner than the Seattle area, and there's far more economic opportunities than Mossyrock, WA. We've been loving it here; the people are great and crime and taxes are both much lower!
Unfortunately, I did have to sell Mazarine (my beautiful blue '04 WJ pictured in my avatar) to buy an Excursion to pull our trailer, but at least she went to a fellow WJ enthusiast (with far more resources than I to keep her on the road and in good condition).
Hope you, Eric and families are doing well, and I will be working on catching up on your videos I missed!
Those pads are a good score . I so love my WJ 4.7 . I have sold my WK2,Kk,XJ and bought a desiel Wrangler( in Australia desiel is best for remote touring as is can be 1000 klm or more for fuel) and still have my WJ . In Australia sometimes to find a WJ at the wreckers is dearer in fuel ($2 to $2.40 per ltr 4.5 ltrs to a gallon ) ( in remote ereas it can be up to $4 plus per ltr ) ( driving a V8 is yoga for the soul )and time to travel then just buy from Rockauto .In the past I have bought complete WJ taken the parts i needed then sold Wreck again . Love your work and enjoy your content. And yes you have helped me so much with my WJ .thank you
I'm Loving the Wj junkyard videos! Thanks Doug!
I came across an 04 well loved colombia edition that sadly was involved in a front end wreck, 4.0 2wd. By time i got to it all the seat and rims were gone :(
Its homelink information center lives on in my 04 laredo
the Hemi starter would have worked to and yes junkyard brakes are just as good lol Im always looking for new parts at the yard it helps us save money and Jeeps there dont die for nothing .
I find these yard videos very relaxing…therapeutic almost!!
Harry's You Pull It in Hazelton is a dream!
Love the videos. Keep ‘‘em coming.
I think the engine in the -53 Chevrolet was a 216cu in straight six. Love your videos. 👍
Here in my home state there are 3 large salvage yards all within 15 minutes of my home. The one I went to recently had 18 WJs. There was an 2002 Overland and I pulled the factory rock rails off of it. I notice that not too many WJ guys talk about the factory rock rails that came on the Overland WJ.
Wow, you remind me of me at the junk yard. When I enter and they ask what I'm looking for, I always say a 1/2 pint someone may of left under the seat. I usually get a laugh. After YEARS of looking, I finally got one, well it was as close as one could get. I found a $20 bill all crunched up between the drivers seat and center console. Looks like a good selection of cars. Was at a junk yard in Las Vegas a few years ago, and in Florida last winter, those cars had ZERO RUST. It's like being at a junk yard in heaven.
Only brake pad i use are from junkyards lol
Doug, you're always switching up junk yard bags. I still love the og junk yard bag video.
Believe it or not a 53 chevy dually had a 216 ci inline 6 with like 92 hp and 176 lb-ft got me looking up specs for a 53 truck at 1am thanks buddy...lol.
Nice video. I love these Yard Crawl videos. I like the Subaru content. Hell, I like all the content.
I have a white 99 WJ 4x4. My coil spring brackets are rusted out. Didn't know it until I went to change out my coil springs and realized I needed the coil spring bushings/seats. Pulled them off and there may have been a quarter inch still holding on the bracket where the coil spring sits. Haven't had the means to get more brackets yet sadly.
Great tips as always Glad to see wasn't crazy. Thought I was crazy but def worth pulling some pads for that cheap in that condition. I found a jey and wish I would of thought to take it. Im def gonna go back and get the spare key and sensor. Hid the key in the tank cus just laying the car all willy nilly.
I've had the same thoughts about chopping up a WJ, more for a trail warrior but either way you should do it!
Love the Charlie Parr reference..minnesota legend and one of my favorites :)
It's always an adventure at U-Pull and I like going there I'm there at least 10 times a month no BS
Doug i have pulled sets of brake pads for both my 01 Explorer and my 07 Mustang GT ;)
Put some deep well sock sets in the tool bag
Doug I can't help but feel exactly like you when I see totally salvageable Grand Cherokees rottin away in the yard. Makes me very sad. Maybe you and I can open up a rescue center for em where we can bring these guys back to life 😂😂🤣🤣
Im binge watching your channel !!!
damn your constantly finding the select trak xfer cases in the yard i cant find one to safe my life in my local yards
That 53 Chevy K10 would have come with a 216.5 cu. in engine. A 1/2 ton chevy of the same year would also have the same engine. The secret was in the gearing.
Man I love the JY. I go find XJ part but now the XJ is hard to find. keep up the great videos.
It is really common for those vans like the second one to have a 350 chevy v8 in them.
I have a 2004 Columbia in that same color, with near mint interior and great body sitting in my backyard, 131k miles on it, super clean at first glance, but the underneath, not pretty. Needs a frame patch
Hey Doug can you do a video on Jeep WJ Freedom Edition and Columbia Edition What was the purpose of them, you know tell more about they history,. Thanks
More Jeep video please. Do a video explaining the freedom edition and columbia
I rebuild my Starters & Alternators unless I find a GREAT OEM ONE IN THE YARD, LOL. Yes I have bought Brake Pads for my PERSONAL VEHICLE from the Yard. Not for my wife though, when she was still alive.
I feel ya! I wanna save them all!
I love subarus too but are def slept on.
At Harry’s in Allentown you’re looking at $16 each for rotors. If the pads and rotors look good I’d pull them for sure.
I think that big truck probably would have had a big straight six, although I'm not sure. Shame all the scrapyards around me only have inventory back to the '70s at best, and all that's just completely picked over
I woulda grabed them front and rear rotors aswell they look brand new
I believe there was an 8 cylinder in that old Chevy I could be wrong it is possible that it was some type of 6 cylinder but that big of a truck it makes sense that it was an 8 cylinder if you were impressed with how good of shape that Columbia Edition WJ was you should see how good they are in the yard in the California desert if you ever make it out here trust me brother we're going to tour some of the u-pulls. I pulled a lot of brand new Chevy truck brake pads off of trucks in the U-Pull
I love that tree.
Got a wj question for you sir,,the oem spiccer 44 for 04wj do they come 5x5 lug or 5x4.5??? Costumer service can't seem to answer this...
Right on sister ✊🏻
at 10:44 if that blue dashpad is not cracked, ripped/torn, you should grab it (with nuts) OBS guys pay for that... as well as an unbroken dash bezel, and instrument panel with rpm gauge
Small enough flathead has worked on torx in a pinch for me in the past…
Nice Ferd 🥰
Id like to see you cut a wj. I have one Ive wanted to do it with.
That Ford short bus has a 6.go in it
Missing your videos. Hope you both are doing well. How come you haven’t posted one in awhile?
Hey I have a white on white 04 wj you could buy I Live Clark’s summit pa comes with a budget boost 3” and many many new parts for a decent price
Been through Clark’s Summit many times traveling between Buffalo and Philly. Great place, looks awesome at night from up on the “mountain”.
My very pampered wj 4.7 has a grumble in the rear on cold starts! Mechanic has looked underneath, inside, can't find the cause! Anyone else had a funny noise that's taken ages to find the cause?
If i see like new pads and rotors i will buy them, heck I buy like new parts even if I don't need them for my wj.
I deleted the skim module. I just bought a PCM and have them remove the skim module
You should see what shows up in Texas Yards
Is there much snow down there yet?
Where the heck has Eric been Douglas?🤔🤔🤔
I have a 2001 jeep Cherokee xj I need a ABS module they don’t make them anymore any suggestions
Junkyard, ebay or fix yours. Look up repairing abs module on jeep. You cut case open and resolder the power pin to the abs pump which is usually the problem. I just fixed mine forfree
I found a 44a in a 4.0 WJ at a upull. How can I test to see if it’s limited slip?
Truck has the 242HD as well if that helps
The del sol was a single jingle cam. Only the si have the single cam vtech. They are fun to drive but kinda slow. Really rare too. Btw that year the name is a sentence. On my title it says "honda civic crx del sol si" 95 they dropped the civic and crx names to being just the "honda del sol"
It's worth checking the trunk too. If it has the automatic top it's worth a lot of money. It's a euro feature that wasn't released in the u.s. but a lot of people import them and install them. "Trans top" I believe it's called.
ruclips.net/video/w4B0rXvwX4I/видео.html
Vid of a trans top. If you ever do get lucky and find one remember you need the parts from inside the car too. That back railing on the inside and the controls. But that trunk peices are the key thing.
Traded in a 1998 Subaru Impreza wagon for my 1999 wj
If you do make a wj convertible do it to a 2wd model they deserve to be forgotten afterward
Sent you an eMail, might have gotten lost in your SPAM.
Someone watches vicegrip
At this point I think everyone watches ViceGrip, right? Him and aVe are Man RUclips Royalty
my wj is a white one
Oops I'm not supposed to say stuff like that LOL say what you want it's a free country
