Excellent video, I've been an accountant for 20 years and I just started teaching it so I am looking for career videos for my students and this one was excellent.
Kelly Accounting Solutions hi I want to get in that field . Give me some advice
so when we become a cpa. is there even a break time or vacation and is it true that cpa will only cooped up in their rooms and offices and no bonding with other people
Great question! While this answer will be different depending on what area of the profession you work in, CPAs enjoy breaks, vacation and/or paid time off. There are different busy seasons, so while work hours may increase during certain times, there is usually also a less busy time. A common misconception about CPAs is that they are cooped up in their offices. Most of the CPAs that I work with would say they communicate a ton and are out and about (either at clients or working in teams). I encourage you to reach out to CPAs in your area (or contact the Indiana CPA Society - info@incpas.org) to connect with a CPA or two and learn more about their experiences in the profession!
Thank you for the video. I am currently working on getting my CPA and this was very helpful and inspiring at the same time!
I love this video. I'm studying accounting and this was very motivational. Great job Sherry! :)
Lizcary Reyes is going well for you? How' are the classes ?
Celeste Carmona They're challenging (in a good way) and require a good amount of study time. Accounting is the kind of field that unless you practice what you learned, you'll forget. But they're awesome. I love it. :)
Lizcary Reyes I'm glad it's going well😄 I'm also interested in accounting , I'm a high school student
Hey Sherry! I remember you all the way back from Forest Manor playing volleyball. So happy to see you enjoying your life. I also remember Mr. George and learned alot from him in the business law class he taught. Best wishes ❤
We'll be sure to pass this along to her, Natasha!

What if I'm not naturally organized?
Hi Adam, CPAs bring a variety of skills to the table. Communication skills, decision making skills, being a problem solver... I'd encourage you to speak with CPAs to see what kinds of skills they find helpful in their role. They could also probably offer some great tips on becoming more organized. Of course, you can always reach out to the Indiana CPA Society (info@incpas.org).
