California can't be used as a model for the rest of the country. And I'm fairly sure that Newsom is trying to sell the idea that what works here will work everywhere. Bad idea Edit *:* I won't vote blue any more.
Voting is and has been rigged in favor of the Gettys for decades. They're still counting the election ballots, just long enough to tip a couple of House seats from Red to Blue. It's not what we vote for.
What continues to baffle the hell out of me is why you guys re-elected that clown. You had the chance to get rid of him and re-elected him. The majority of CA residents must be insane.
Yeah it's called cheating. How can we have more than double the amount of signatures to recall Newsome but yet when it's time to recall him only 30% wanted to recall him and in top of that reelect him? Very fishy to me.
Here in Perris, CA we have off-road vehicles running around everywhere on the streets. Many of the riders aren't even wearing helmets but the police have been told to not give chase to them because of liability to the city if an accident is caused.
I highly encourage California conservatives to continue fighting and voting red here. We are going to eventually flip this back to red, and not to mention 2026 when Kamala is going to try and run here.
I know a traffic Cop (motorcycle rider for his job). I got a pulled over (I never get pulled over) because I was too lazy to take the sticker off the registration in the glove box and put it on the plate for over 3 months past the due date. I needed to pull the plate frame to do it neatly and so hadn't done it. We talked about some of what you bring up in this video. He said I pull you over because you show up in court or just pay your fine on line. The folks implied here in this video, he said, do not. So we all know part of traffic enforcement (tickets) is to generate income. So for this Motorcycle Cop there was no reason to pull over the unregistered, SMOG puking, tail light missing, no seatbelt wearing, muffler hanger is a coat hanger, driver and ticket that person because he will never show up in court or pay the fine online. Sick system.
I believe that it's also true, that part of what we pay for in the infrastructure improvement package, is to create a surveillance system to keep us incorrigible humans on camera at all times.
I think most of the people been voting Republican after all I see everywhere is trump banner's I think it's the dishonest Democrat that where cheating just like Biden same thing what we don't want is what they go against. To put this into perspective…California charges me over $300 a year to register a Honda CRF250L for the road, versus a 2016 Nissan Truck is $260 a year. Motorcycle = 60MPG Truck = 19MPG If California really wants to reduce emissions then why punish motorcycle owners?
I had Geico and they did the same thing to me for my 3 Harley's... I was paying $75 per month then they tripled it and yes, they gave me the same excuse. It wasn't until the Sales Manager at Harley heard me complaining that he hooked me up with Foremost Insurance now I pay only $110 for the 3.
Geico doubled my insurance and did not tell me until i got the bill, Then when i called about it; they said that they dont insure Supersport bikes due to their new theft policy in Colorado and i had been riding uninsured for a month, i was not notified about it, but still got a bill for the coverage that did not exist at twice the cost.... I dropped them and went to state farm.
You are in California. Prices will go up no matter the situation because of how you vote. You think if those other 3 you pointed out paid for insurance, gas and lic, your payments would go down? really? ALL blue state prices, fees and taxes are going up. Taxes for farting is going up. Vote with your wallet.
While I agree with your sentiment. If you look at the voting map. Most of California is Red. It’s the cities that are the problem. Same as any other state. The cities are always the problem. All that being said. I left that sinking ship 4 years ago. I couldn’t be happier.
Live in California always voted red I'm 67 still working my full coverage for my Honda Rebel 1100T 2023 in the SF Bay area is 400 a year with uninsured coverage so that's not bad , in 2 yrs. I'm going to retire and moving to Georgia! can't wait to leave!
I collect bikes here in CA. I'm moving my bikes to AZ. For example: I have four vintage (showroom condition) HONDA CT90s. I pay over $150.00 EACH for these tiny little bikes and they are all from the '70s. I off course have to keep them insured even though I may ride each one less than 200.00 miles a year. It is just stupid. AZ charges about $70.00 for FIVE YEARS of registration.
I live in Comifornia too. I strongly believe we pay dearly for a ride here. The only thing positive is that we have good weather compared to other states, and not to mention registering the motorcycle fees are horrendous n ridiculous each year.
I live in Sacramento and my motorcycle insurance doubled this year. Geico told me it's due to all the claims they had to pay out recently from hit and runs.
Same here in small town Northern California. I have 4 insured bikes and Geico doubled my insurance on my latest renewal. They told me California is a high risk state. I won’t even get into my homeowners insurance….
I'm on ssi (pennies) got hurt at work , lost all - was homeless 13.5 years wound up getting rid of my Silverado, apartment issues- homeless looking good but the real negative is the fact that I'm kept too broke to live here and kept too broke to leave - even just one county away ...... If you go electric they will tax the crap out of it , go solar they'll tax the sun. Yeah ev that's rusting or goes up with some water, ev last maybe 8 years- once the EV infrastructure is complete we will move onto some other way - the cycle of abuse continues Yeah that is dumb af spend money own nothing. I rode from 80's til 2000 when spine damage- nothing changes but the smell ,slightly. Your rant was on point.
One of the most beautiful, best weathered states in the USA. That's why. But money wise in the city areas it's just getting to be unaffordable and regulated as well. Fkn nuts. Governor needs jail time.
My plates in Washington state are $600 or more per bike. It’s bullshit. I have four bikes and two cars. And I ride around and see cars with plates three years or more out of date. Cops don’t do anything about it.
I was driving around with my car with the 2022 tags for like the past 2 years. I have the newer tags, I just forgot to put them on, but I was never stopped.
My little rant: My '06 YZFR1 costs $450/yr to insure. My '23 FXLRS costs me $220/yr to insure. I'm in NH, not CA but really now. I love my R1 but the sport bikes, no matter how old, are way more $$$. The HD is actually relatively cheap to insure anyway. The yearly registration cost is big hit until the machines get old. Yea, cost of ownership is much more than the purchase price. Surprises and breaks the bank for lot of people.
My insurance agent tipped me off to why rates go up, and it is like you said. More claims for any reason means higher rates. The major factor is how often that type of vehicle is making a claim... the more often that vehicle type gets claims filed on it, the more rates go up for that vehicle type. New costs are more than used, and some vehicles always cost more because they get wrecked and stolen more.
Nor cal resident here. I own a couple of older bikes... but to replace my motorcycle with ev is triple the cost up front and my insurance and registration will be way more because the bike is new instead of used like mine are.
Those guys don't have registration on those vehicles... because the state won't let them be registered for road use. The problem is significantly more deep than what the insurance company told you. California is squeezing people because of the absolutely destructive push towards "clean energy". That said... I can PROMISE YOU that cops are pulling those guys over. Dirt bikes on the street or basically anywhere they aren't allowed to be. Where is that? Basically everywhere within 15 minutes of just about any city in southern california, save for the inland empire. They are even trying to shut down OHV land to riding. The state needs to fire and downsize the ever living hell out of state agencies and relax regulations that cost the state insane amount of money to be able to enforce. That is why they need every single time they can squeeze out of us. They are trying to do way too much, regardless of whether it is worthwhile or not. I just bought a 2025 dirtbike and technically they don't even want to give me registration tags to be able to ride it off road.
Gas taxes are regressive taxation. Just like sales taxes. They are designed to target the lower class, working class. The wealthy class does not feel the pain of increasing prices the same way. If you make 5k per month, the rise is killing you. If you make 10k per month, you feel the rise, but you are still fairly comfortable... If you make 100k per month, you might notice it on paper... but you won't feel any impact on your lifestyle at all.
Look at the bright side, at least you don't have to deal with black Ice and snow. I visited my daughter in San Francisco and she pays $7,000 a month renting a 2 bedroom. It's not uncommon to see a homeless person taking a dump in front of her residence.
Bro, the damn tag is almost $500 for my 2023 Road Glide, $800 for my EV. forget insurance, hell I pay $1600 for 6 months for my EV. Those guys are not the only criminals. The government's people don't want to manage the state budget. I hear what you are saying but here is an idea. If you want to be rich, do what rich people did to get there. Here is an idea that involves leasing: Leasing VS Buying Cybertruck, $800/mo lease, $1600/month buy. when you lease you save $800. take the $800/mo and invest it using AI. Now, instead of giving your money to the people who lend you the money to buy the truck, you are making a lot of money. By the time your lease ends, you will have about $100k. now with that $100k, you can put that money to work or pay cash for a new Cybertruck, cash. then you would leverage all of the incentives that come with it. That's how the rich get richer. Let's not worry about those clowns on the road and the government, let's worry about getting ours. Hang in there, bro!
The other problem with EV's is that the electrical grid in CA is unreliable. My power goes out all the time and if everyone goes EV, it's only going to get worse!
Do you also have to pay property tax on each vehicle? Here in SC I have to pay every year, property taxes on every vehicle. I pay over $1400 a year in taxes on a truck, a car, and five motorcycles. Not as high as you but it's pretty expensive in some other places too.
lol shoot I ride a motorycle for many reasons, one being becasue a car is nearly unaffordable out here. What insurance do you have though?? I pay 1400 a year for 2 bikes! They increased mine from 700ish to after my last cycle. Never been in an accident or anything either! Also, you have an excelent point! Why the heck are WE paying for an infrastructure that we dont even want, for car companies. lunacy.
I pay 167 got ea of my four bikes....However, I do all my own maintenance which, at 154 an hour, saves a ton. If i had to have someone else crank on my bikes, then Id sell em because then it's unaffordable....It all balances out...Same with the car.. I fix shit myself....THat's where my state has driven me, that's where i arrived!~ fkn CA!! lol
Foremost not taking new Policys in California unless you’re a aarp member three Harley’s 15 Dyna 18 rg and 22 rg shoping around for a new ins they all want close to 4k for full coverage
There is no exit tax, but you must be careful to cut all ties because the Franchise Tax Board will aggressively try to claim you are a California resident and demand state income tax.
wow... I moved out of there... last time it was like $50 for my dual sport.. damnit... insurance was $100 full coverage.. Im in Mexico... and its even cheaper..
I knew a long time ago the only thing nice about California is to be able to visit, enjoy for a short time, and LEAVE. I could never live there. My insurance for my motorcycle is still less than $100 per year. Two cars are $600 per year for both. Registration is $75.
Okay - All commodities prices are based on the cost of transportation. Gas is soon to rise again, but will be higher than last year. Prices could come down but this is how it worked in the Biden Administration and assuming how Trump will address the issue. When Biden asked OPEC to lower the price of oil, they refused if not getting weapons. Biden instead flooded the market with US reserves, which forced the OPEN price to come down, then Biden bought back the reserves at a cheaper price while lower the price of gas. Trump could never imagine doing what Biden did, and instead will ask the Saudi's what US Weapons they would want - this is all good until the Saudi's hold trump over a barrel for more weapons -
Do you mean ev bicycle? An ev motorcycle you'll spend way more for the bike, way more for the insurance, and electricity is not free so I can't figure out where you think you'll save any money buying an ev to replace your gas motorcycle. I looked into solar panels for my house in Michigan and they wanted $60k! So for 20 years I'm gonna be straddled with $240/mo in order to "save" like $100/mo off my electricity bill. Not eliminate my electricity bill mind you. In Michigan we are not the sunshine state so it's not possible to power my house with solar alone. Never mind if I was charging my car every day.
Why are you driving around with a license and tags registering your bike all you need is insurance if you're not engaged in commerce you do not need a driver's license or the need to register your vehicle supreme Court rule it's all on Google
Law abiding citizen? How can you call yourself that when your motorcycles are illegally modified by bootlegging parts in from other states because they are not legal in California?
I believe crime, and theft is up. I also believe it’s due to inflation and the cost of goods. California has mandates on insurance companies, that’s why some companies are leaving.
Dude Idaho is expensive like California your going to say I should of stayed in California lol good luck I have some peeps that live their it's almost the same as California in prices. @@fastdude2002
I feel bad for you guys trying to make ends meet in that state. In other parts of the country we look at California as an example of what not to do. When you said what rent is for a one bedroom apartment I nearly fell out of my seat. Outrage situation.
Teach them a lesson by leaving your prison camp. You can see the states to avoid by looking at the blue states. If you choose to move to AZ remember what sucks about your state and DON'T bring that crap here.
The cost of owning a motorcycle is becoming unbearable regardless of what state you’re in, and mostly due to insurance. I wanted to get back into riding and found that regardless of what bike I buy, between Ducati Street Fighter V2 or Yamaha R7, every insurance company I got a quote from wanted nearly $10,000 for a year long policy.
From Monterey and seven trees all the way back to the loop at hellyer Park... You going around in circles? Everything in California sucks. But f*** it. I'm staying too...😂
The US has gone "all in" with cars, and cars have the least efficiency of any vehicle. They require huge amounts of space to move you around, plus they're extremely dangerous and expensive to own and operate. A public transportation year ticket might be around 600 dollars but that has been rejected by the vast majority of Americans. If you're complaining about paying for the infrastructure, you should understand that about half of car infrastructure is paid by sales tax. Driving, regardless of your type of vehicle, is highly subsidized.
@@joethompson-tv1ss Then you're trapped in a can with violent/insane people who harass the passengers just trying to get to their destination, and if you defend yourself in that commie state, you can get charged for being mean to one of the "oppressed".
I mean, California is one of the most expensive states in the union. Insurance has always been expensive here. However I dont think it's as unaffordable as it's always been. Sure a big bike is expensive to maintain and insure but when you buy a big bike you really should know that's how it is. I dont really buy that it's unaffordable because of 'Newsom' or 'Bidenomics (whatever that means)'. What I'm really afraid of is the blanket tarrifs we're about to get, meaning the price of literally everything is going to go up since we, including Harley, imports a ton of their parts, labor, and raw materials. But we dudes on motorcycles will be fine, I think. You want to talk about unaffordable, go try and buy a new 'economy' car for under 10 grand. Lmao. And it'll get 30 miles a gallon. It's getting expensive for everyone. But I really wouldn't blame the people or the politics of California because of it.
@@joethompson-tv1ss That's pretty cheap! I pay 62 a month for full coverage on my 2021 Z400. I think that's pretty reasonable, I dont wanna ride around on this thing without full coverage

yeah your ass can walk wherever you want lmao but you do in fact need a license to drive. Acting like "traveling" includes driving is goofy.
lol shoot I ride a motorycle for many reasons, one being becasue a car is nearly unaffordable out here.
The worst is the EXIT tax… You cant even leave anymore😡
You gotta be real stupid to pay an exit tax. I don't think anybody in their right mind would do so
You gotta be real stupid to pay an exit tax. I don't think anyone in their right mind would do so.
There is no exit tax, but you must be careful to cut all ties because the Franchise Tax Board will aggressively try to claim you are a California resident and demand state income tax.
Good video, spot on. Luckily Latinos are opening their eyes, slowly but it’s happening.
I paid less than 300 to register for 5 years in AZ
Gloves?
Only Honda riders wear gloves
And if every one went ev they would tax your electricity bill. Garaunteed. Don't be fooled.
Yep. The old supply and demand.
And....No smog certificates for the bike....So they gotta get ya somehow...
wow... I moved out of there... last time it was like $50 for my dual sport.. damnit... insurance was $100 full coverage.. Im in Mexico... and its even cheaper..
Oh bro, the insurance on ev bikes is expensive. I was about to get a livewire, and the insurance quote was 285 a month. No thanks.
I knew a long time ago the only thing nice about California is to be able to visit, enjoy for a short time, and LEAVE.
I could never live there.
My insurance for my motorcycle is still less than $100 per year. Two cars are $600 per year for both. Registration is $75.
In Austria the gasprices are high too insurance prices are more of a problem imo
Yeah. I heard about this dude that spent like $20k on a pos Harley. Then complains how expensive gas and insurance are. 🤷🏼♂️
Insurance out of control, registration fees for motorcycle expensive I sold my motorcycle.
I’m in Cali because of the Military fuck this state, it’s beautiful here but the cost of living is outrageous
I see it changing a new sheriff is in town
Why are you driving around with a license and tags registering your bike all you need is insurance if you're not engaged in commerce you do not need a driver's license or the need to register your vehicle supreme Court rule it's all on Google
Good thing my Enfield 350 gets about 90 mpg
gas here $3.05 tags $30 a year tag for motorcycle ! 27k harley trike $600 year insurance here
$30 bucks for tags, I’d probably own like 6 bikes in your state. I definitely gotta get out of California
My Versys 300 is $185 for tags and gas is cheapest so far I’ve seen in SoCal $4.19 in ghetto ass Hemet.
You're blaming the wrong people. Everything happening comes from the governor.
Law abiding citizen? How can you call yourself that when your motorcycles are illegally modified by bootlegging parts in from other states because they are not legal in California?
Do you really believe what GEICO tells you? Really? Ride safe KAREN !!!
I believe crime, and theft is up. I also believe it’s due to inflation and the cost of goods. California has mandates on insurance companies, that’s why some companies are leaving.
Im out of California in two weeks!
Can I ask what state you are going to…I’m trying to plan my exodus after 57 years of living here..
@@fastdude2002I would like Indiana (native Hoosier) or Missouri (my son and grand daughter are there). But stuck here for now.
@@turtle19dad I was looking at Utah or Idaho as I like the west but still researching.
Wow, my insurance is $100 every 6 months.
Your getting reamed.
Don't register or insure your bike.
Take the chance....
Cry poverty when you get caught.
$15 dollars to register my harley in Idaho .for 2 years. I like to think I'm giving ca the middle finger. I live in norco ca. .
Don't get a sport bike or a naked hyper bike; a standard bike is much more reasonable.
I'm in Texas I had Geico I was paying what you are paying for 2 bikes for one bike.what a rip off.
I don't understand why people have GEICO that's expensive insurance theirs other insurance that would be cheaper.
How did you vote ? California is that way because of the way the people voted…
From Monterey and seven trees all the way back to the loop at hellyer Park... You going around in circles? Everything in California sucks. But f*** it. I'm staying too...😂
California residents are getting F........!
Vote different or move.
I’ve been voting for change, but there’s no voter ID in California. California just recently finished counting votes in some counties.
@@InfamousCreepno ID should get a D for DEPORT
why does cali keep voting dem then??
I just don’t know, they’ve been voting the same for decades and nothing has improved.
Gas. 2.35 a gallon today in Ms. And going down. MAGA
You’re right on brother
👍👍👍
Yes but you do not count.
They want you to leave...
You are being a Karen, you have the right to not pay like those dudes, even to take the bus, quit sniveling
They still charging you for the EV bikes and cars bro, there is no escape.
Don’t worry about Cali laws there just a joke!
Soon you won’t be able to own anything in CA 🤷🏽♂️
Isn’t that the book title? Own nothing and like it?
@@turtle19dad You're right. written by Gavin Newsom lol
Public transportation is completely unreliable! Sometimes two hours late or not running at all. Who want to depend on a system like that?
@@joethompson-tv1ss Then you're trapped in a can with violent/insane people who harass the passengers just trying to get to their destination, and if you defend yourself in that commie state, you can get charged for being mean to one of the "oppressed".

Funniest part about this video is that this guy nor half the people in this comment section know how economics works and that is hilarious
Sure, that’s why it’s so great under Bidenomics.
My 15 st. Glide is $92/yr. for liability only.. I call that reasonable.
@@joethompson-tv1ss That's pretty cheap! I pay 62 a month for full coverage on my 2021 Z400. I think that's pretty reasonable, I dont wanna ride around on this thing without full coverage
