Why can’t 2k just make a current gen football simulation game with a franchise mode that includes the customization of teams and randomly generated players they would make a killing!!
Because everybody involved with making this game don't work for that company anymore. Even if 2k made a new football game it wouldn't be close to this game.
If I were EA, I would be relinquishing the license. Besides, John Madden is dead. It's worthless to continue Madden with the namesake already being deceased.

They are making one or supposed to be. It was supposed to come out in 2021. Got pushed back too 2022, then back to 2023. I honestly don't know if it's going to get made at this point but apparently they're still working on it but we haven't gotten an update since last year.

All Pro Football 2k8 runs well at a stable 60 fps on my PC on RPCS3. It is great and very fun. The only problem is if I ever go beyond 720p with the resolution scale, it crashes, and says something like 'the ps3 application has likely crashed, you can close it' Do you know why or what is causing this? I have done further testing on my own, and whenever I set the emulator above 720p, I get this error 'F {PPU[0x1000000] Thread (main_thread) [0x006a9a20]} VM: Access violation reading location 0xb3f811cb (unmapped memory)' It is quite noticeable because it is the colour purple/pink. But I have not been able to figure out how to stop this from happening.
You know if you stop and let the QB set his feet, you would complete alot more passes and throw the ball much further. This game isn't Madden. You cant hold down and throw. QB loses much if his accuracy if throwing on the run, just like in real life.

Well, I do update as new versions are released, and I’m currently using the latest one. It seems to be working. If you’d like, I can post my config file so you can see it. However, what I’ve found is that RPCS3 requires a strong CPU and GPU. On my test machine AMD 2700X with a 2080 Ti, this game runs poorly at anything over 1080p, but I guess mileage varies.

You’re right. At the very least, I’d suggest an 8-core component. It runs quite well on my Ryzen 2700x CPU, with only a few minor slowdowns, but it’s entirely playable. thanks for question and visit
The choice of CPU largely depends on the specific model you opt for. Personally, I lean towards the 12th or 13th Gen Intel i7 CPUs. Although I currently have an 11th Gen model which works perfectly for some emulated games, it struggles with certain 3D titles, resulting in slowdowns and rendering them nearly unplayable.
I’m not entirely sure, but I still run it with the current version. The only issue is that I can’t upscale it to 4K resolution because the emulator crashes if you go beyond 720p

I hate EA as much as probably anybody else on the planet. As much as it killed me in 2006 when they made the licensing deal with the NFL, from a business standpoint its actually smart. When you eliminate competition, you will pull in more money since theres no other options for football fans to spend their money on. EA knew that they had an inferior product compared to 2K, plus 2K was only charging $20 for their game, and Madden was double that. They knew they couldnt compete so EA killed off the competition rather than go back to the drawing board, work on making a better game, and drop the price to $20.
I totally get where you’re coming from. EA’s move to secure exclusive rights with the NFL was definitely a tough pill to swallow for many fans. From a business perspective, it was a strategic decision to eliminate competition and maximize profits. It’s frustrating because instead of improving their product and offering it at a competitive price, they chose to monopolize the market. It’s a classic case of prioritizing profits over quality and consumer choice.

When I boot from global config I get full screen with frame caps. I can only get the framerate caption to go away when I boot with custom config, then I cant get full screen. Whats the secret?

Well, EA has the licensing for the NFL, so until that is over, we’re kind of stuck with only Madden for football for now.

My only flaw with this game is it does not let you throw the ball away pn passes. Unless , im missing something its not an option.

Which emulator is used here? I’ve tried Xenia and it’s… buggy at best unless it’s been updated over the past few years

you have to make a custom config that you change the game resolution to match what you trying to achieve. i run min in 4k 300% under GPU tab
