My boyfriend thinks putting cheese and fruit together is “weird” and I keep telling him he doesn’t know what he’s missing. I think I’m going to stop trying to change his mind though because it just means more grape salad for me. 😊

Your story makes me laugh. For those of you who aren’t from around SC - “Learn ‘im” or “learnt ‘im” = teach him/them or taught him/them. My mother-in-law (89 hrs old and still living by herself) always talks about how she “learnt” her kids to do something. She “learnt” her daughter Deb how to make biscuits. Hearing her talk, in what my kids refer to as “Southern”, makes me love her more and more. It’s become so endearing over the years. I think this part of why I find myself watching your videos for pure entertainment sometimes. There’s just nothing like a Sweet grandma from the south. 😘

Hi MEME. this is such a good recipe...especially as hot as it has been. Here is one for you its kind of the same basis.
2 cans pineapple chunks or tidbits drained.
1/2 cup raisins
8 oz sour cream
3/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
Mix well and refrigerate..
Of course, you can adjust these ingredients to your liking. Hope you like it
I think my husband’s biggest regret of marrying a Northern girl is that I don’t do traditional Southern cooking. He has always wanted me to find an “old timer” to teach me. I made this for Christmas Dinner today last night late. I have watched the video several times and Diane said it needed to be made several hours before eating. I think she said things needed to get aquainated. So, it being Christmas i decided to make it at midnight last night for dinner today. Diane said you can't go wrong with this salad and how right she is. It is so delicious and I must say I was a bit skeptical about the Cheddar cheese in it, but by all means do not leave it out. Its easy to put together and so delicious.:)

I've never heard of adding cheese to this dish? We typically serve the nuts and brown sugar on the side, to sprinkle over as desired. 🙂

If my grapes are to big i cut them in half. My grape salad dont call for cheddar cheese.
Some call for cheese and some don’t. Just make it your own!
