Traveling with liquids on a plane can get confusing between TSA liquids rules, international rules, and new CT scanners that are different than the X-ray scanners. I'll walk you through what's new and what rules may be changing since the UK has made an announcement of their changes that will start in June 2024 (though some airports have already changed the rules).

This is great to know! I remember hearing a while back that Europe was planning to change the rules with the liquids. This is definitely great to see, but I tend to not travel with much liquids anyway, and I usually will fill up my water bottle at the airport.

But I'm glad tech is allowing things to change a bit now. The biggest thing I hope people take away is that you don't need as much liquid as you think!

Unfortunately, at most airports in the USA, you’re not allowed to bring even a regular water bottle… I haven’t seen a single airport where they do allow it and I have traveled through about 15 North American airports and with several different airlines, in the last year.
As a truck driver, I sometimes travel to and from my truck. The DOT doesn’t allow relabeled products. So I have to bring the big bottles of vitamin, allergy and headache pills. I cant take just a few and put them in a smaller or combined bottle. Again, unfortunately.
I'm not surprised about the water bottle. It's a very new thing here. Honestly, I don't think anywhere allows you to use containers for other things. Some places are VERY strict about this. It's one reason (that I forgot to mention) why I like the small versions of things and refill those. Another way to do this is getting blister packs. Vitamins are pretty hard though.
