    Oh here is another thing that I might add which can help modern-day Christians too, and it is: We Christians in the "body of Christ" Today are not among the Little Flock, no We are the Apostle Paul's Audience of Christians, plus we will not go through the 7 years Tribulation because we will already be in heaven. Besides we will have enough to do with our Judgement Seat of Christ, and than we will be the replacement of those fallen angels ,and then placed somewhere in heavenly places. Anyway this is not rocket science if people study like Paul says and read the bible they can figure out what it means for themselves.

    Sola Scriptura (by scripture alone). As the authoritative word of God, the foundation of our belief of truth. If you get too far from that place, you will be blown about by all winds of doctrine.

    The right question is, is Jesus Christ sufficient?
    John 20:30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
    John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

    I agree with the preservation of the saints! However, how about a so-called Christian, even a pastor who commits habitual sin, for years?

      Possibly the person was never saved in the first place.. just my theory I'm no expert by any means on any of this but I will say that I get concerned when pastors make a simple altar call and tell people to say a little prayer I always wish that they would be very very emphatic that it comes from someone's heart when they truly turn from sin and turn to Christ as their Savior that they truly truly mean it rather than just mouthing words..

      We ALL have habitual sins whether we recognize them or not. Pride and self centeredness are sins that are with all of us, all the time.

      @@Psalm146-2 1st John is very specific about "habitual sins" (your words). If a person practices sin then he " does not know Him" (see 3:6b). BTW, if we have unrecognized sin, what does that say about the Holy Spirit who lives in a "believer" and guides them into all truth? Blessings!

      @@user-js8pg4fu8f How many times does a person have to do a sin for it to be considered habitual? Ever get angry - maybe in traffic? Anger is rooted in pride. Ever looked at an attractive woman (or man as the case may be) a little longer than you should have? That’s lust or adultery. Ever not given your employer 100%? That’s stealing. All of us do these things but not all of us are cognizant that we’re even doing them. And if you’ve done it more than once, and we all do, then it can be considered habitual. Paul said in Romans 7:19 “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.” He wasn’t saying that he did a particular sin one time and then never did it again - he was plagued by sin - like we all are. And the Holy Spirit doesn’t lead us in to a sinless life - you never see an example of that anywhere in Scripture. The Holy Spirit does indeed lead us to truth - and part of that truth is recognizing that we are depraved. As for the OPs remark, that person should be talked to with Matthew 18:15-17 in mind “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.” I’m honestly not trying to be argumentative but holding someone to a standard that can’t be met, and not following Matthew 18, puts a burden on people similar to what the Pharisees did. Agreed, we should do our best to not sin, but when we do, we ask for forgiveness, repent, and move on.

      In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul reminds us true believers are a DOUBLE MAN, the old flesh natured man and the regenerated spirit man. Whom war against each other. It is why we are exhorted (through the Spirit of God) to mortify the deeds of the flesh. Which is
      "putting to death", crucifying it every day. In the Lord's own words ' he must deny himself (the flesh) , pick up his cross, and follow me '. Why do you think believers are SOLDIERS OF CHRIST? It is an ongoing battle, a continual warfare namely against the flesh, the world and the devil.

      That is because "your" god, who you dreamed up yourself, answers to you rather than the other way around, which is how reality works.
      You may have listened to and liked the totally unscientific idea that Darwin introduced into the world of philosophy, or you may just think that "you" are the source of all wisdom and everyone else is wrong. Whichever the case, you definitely exhibit that common trait of all humans which is that "we" as individuals are the most important thing in life and others better wake up to that fact.

      Well, I hate to say it this way, but you could not be more wrong. Go read Psalm 19:7-9, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, and Jude1:3. The Bible is sufficient. The Bible is God's Word. He closed it out at Revelation 22:21. Please retract/delete or edit your post. Thanks.

      @@aussierob7177 No, and if this is what you are teaching nobody should be in your church. Read your Bible, an accurate translation, ask for discernment. Modalism is not a correct teaching. See Isaiah 44:18 and 2 Corinthians 4:4. The god of this world in that passage refers to satan. Do you want to follow a fallen angel? Or do you want to follow the true and living God? I will pray for you to have discernment. You want to avoid false teachers. Anyone teaching modalism is not teaching the true word of God. Hope this clears things up for you.
