I agree your comments, Ilford is very Difficult but not impossible. My Dev.Time is Usually 5-8 minutes. I don't like excessive exposure so I can to get more contrast. Thanks for your explanations. Thanks for sharing your work.

Came back to this video as I'm about to order my first lith developer and give it a good try. Love the way you print by experience + feel. Much nicer than by stopwatch! I'm only half way there but moving in the right direction ;-)

Anton Corbijn got me into lith printing. I prefer the warm yellow/ pink

I tried Ilford Warmtone using Arista Lith Chemicals and I saw the same behavior you describe. I snatched right when I started to see defined blacks, stopped, and then put in the fix and the contrast exploded within a few seconds in the fixer. the results were quite nice especially after also split toning. I bought some Art 300 paper to try next.

Bob Carnie which lith chemistry do you like for warm tone?

I have two boxes of Forte paper (Hungary) and so far my research says that I'll have to try Lith printing on this paper because regular developing is giving me 'flashed" paper. The whites look very gray.

I've been lith printing for years but I've never tried Ilford warmtone, that's a neat trick. Gonna have to give that paper a try.

I wish you wouldn't wave the products/photos around as its hard to read/see what it shows

Thank you for posting this great video. I've only recently started playing with Lith and am enjoying it a lot. I'll certainly be giving Ilford Warmtone a try now.

Its a great paper if you can figure out when to pull, I am going to be doing a bunch over the winter months for a large job I am working on.

Hei, thank you. Great video! I have a question: With Ilford Warmtone I accidentially get good results (and then I think, it its the best!) but most of the time, the deeper tones become very, very cloudy. Does that ever occur with the Fotospeed developer?

Thank you for your fast reply! That I figured out already - that the prints darken quite a bit in the fix. I actually like it a lot, even just watching that happen.
But I haven't meant that. I used another developer and it just refuses to produce smooth tones with this paper (even when snatched kind of at the right monment). It becomes smeary and it just refuses to produce smooth tones. The midtones and the blacks become somewhat cloudy.
I guess the cloudiness just don't appear with the fotospeed developer - I will put my hand on that too.
I really like this Ilford paper. I don't like the vast colors of some other papers too much. And the Ilford reacts to selenium in such a nice way.

That's probably the trick. Thanks again for sharing!
Finland has/had some great printers (which none of them I know personally). But if you like to see some decently printed great photographs - Pentti Sammallahti will do the trick.

Good Luck to your team Sir :) Contemporary printing is not that much alive in India. :) I'm learning so that I can make them :) Thank you once again :)

Welcome Sir :) I live in Srirangam town , Trichy City , Tamil Nadu State , India. www.kartphostudios.in is my website. I have a room in my parents house , which they were generous to give it to me. I do my photographic work there. If my prints starts to sell I will expand :) I'm an one man army :) I did try salt printing :) Due to lack of proper photography grade chemicals .. I'm looking for other options. Since Platinum Palladium seems expensive . & Silver Nitrate that I get here is not effective for achieving Dmax value . Hope things go well in the future :) Good Luck Sir :) Quite glad to see your reply :) Thank you :)

Great video! Which combination of paper/developer would you suggest for those lith prints with warm creamy highlights and deep/dark greenish shadows?
