Great day for the 88 Quality Care Ford piloted by Dale Jarrett, my favorite ever!
    Thanks for the show!

Man on lap 5 is when Mike Joy mentioned how they had increased the rear spoiler and front valence. Those decisions back then is what has slowly led us to the ridiculous cars we see today.

This would be impossible today in the Brian France era of BS cautions. I miss seeing races playing out naturally anymore.. always know in the back of my mind that a BS yellow is looming.

Actually, this year debris cautions have been down significantly!

2 races in 2019 have technically gone without a real caution (they had stage breaks due to the rules): the one at Las Vegas and the one at Sonoma. 4 races between 2017 and 2018 went by with only one real caution.
FUN FACT - Talking about real cautions, no race with a competition caution has gone by without at least 2 more cautions.

@@DanArnets1492 If it weren't for the rain caution that ultimately ended the race, the 2012 Auto Club race could have also went without a caution.

Well, since good ol' Mr. UAS doesn't know that this video even exists, I figured, since I have some time to kill, I would go ahead and do this myself. So, W/O further waiting here we go:

Seeing Bill Elliott race Jeff Gordon and now his young son drives that #24 car.

Evan Williams And next year, the #24 will be driven by William Byron. Chase will be back in the #9.

Oh shoot. Well, I'm am surprised by it, but I understand why Chase wants to run that number since its one his father made famous and he used it in XFINITY and won the championship. It's just shocking that they would make such a change since #24 is such a iconic number and they are giving it Byron instead. Those are still big shoes to fill, but I guess we will see where all that goes.

Jarret said the team was struggling. How? They had top tens in every race of the year except two.

Hidden Secrets struggling for more wins. Also Jarrett has 29 Top10s in 34 races of 1999.

Championships aren't based solely on pure dominance but what you do in the face of adversity. Dale had a lot of races in the spring/summer where the handling fell out of order early in the running, but made enough changes to scrounge up top 5 finishes. Those are as important as wins in this time frame.

Winning isn't everything - just ask Bill Elliott in 1985. Strolled to 11 wins but didn't win the Winston Cup.
