  • On Thursday, October 13, we welcome honoured guests and valued patrons to the Aga Khan Museum for an exclusive preview event celebrating our newest exhibition, Syria: A Living History.
    Beginning at 6:30 pm EST, tune in to a live stream of the special event, featuring an introductory video from Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, followed by welcome remarks from the following distinguished speakers:
    • Henry S. Kim, Director and CEO, Aga Khan Museum;
    • The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage;
    • The Honourable John McCallum, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship;
    • Dr. Filiz Çakır Phillip, Curator, Aga Khan Museum; and
    • Professor Nasser Rabbat, Director, Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture.
    Listen as these leading figures and scholars discuss the process of bringing Syria: A Living History to the Aga Khan Museum, and the broader social and cultural benefits of premiering the exhibition in Toronto.
