Not really a theme per se, but I think this would fit in a town square set up as part of the village. In a lot of old European towns they have a giant clock in the middle. You could set up a little cobblestone area surrounded by shops and then have characters in the square itself.
I too love villages with not just themes, but stories to tell.
This year I plan on a neighborhood village that starts out traditional and then at the end of the street you get the abandoned houses and the cemetery where only the older/braver kids dare to go.
Love the idea you have for htis year, and yes, I'm a big stickler for a village story!

I still think they should have made it a 13 hour clock.

Mine broke after a year, no sound, doesn't activate when clock hits 12. Clock still turns backwards and lights still work.
If this had an accurate time piece clock in it, I would use it year round.

DBT is my favorite band. Well, they are tied for first with Jason Isbell (and the 400 Unit). Have seem em both so many times.

I think instead of the brite colored lites id have regular lighting and it will show its art alot more with white lites!!! It would look more realistic!!

Nice review Doug! I do like this piece but like you mentioned I couldn't see me using this in my Spooky Town Village. I agree it is more of a mantle piece...Congrats on your Unicorn Find, can't wait to see what it is!!!! I will be setting up my 2019 Spooky Town Village next week on Monday or Tuesday!!!

Good review. I think this would be a good piece as a header, maybe raised up a little, for a graveyard or over a village as a clocktower. The painting on this piece looks better than the Tilt"N"Hurl (which looks like so much plastic without detailing). Looking forward to your surprise! Mwahahahaha.
Thanks Scott, I'd agree with your idea for how to display this. As for the mystery building, it's supposed to arrive today. I REALLY hope that the post office was kind to it, as there is no replacing it. I think folks are going to really enjoy that video :)
Curious if you are going to be reviewing the grocery from this year. It was something I was most looking forward to getting. Finally went by Michael’s and saw it in person and was beyond disappointed in how small it is. Really have to decide if I’ll even get it because it doesn’t work with the other town buildings.
I kind of doubt it at this point, as thanks to this "mystery building", my budget is totally out of whack! I plan on doing the mystery building next, then Spooky Winner...and probably Pick Me Pumpkin Wagon with a couple accessories in that one. That'll most likely do it for me, but I may do a quick overview of the buildings I didn't do full reviews on. The problem is the Michaels stores around me this year are horrendous for pictures, as their spooky town displays are extremely half assed and none of them even have power to them! (It's why no Michaels video this year!). I have more stuff to do that will hopefully take us through October as well :)
Now that is something my husband would like, I better go get that one. Nice design!

I could see this positioned high up and to the back of a spooky scene kind of tolling the bell for something evil to happen. The lighting on it looks good. Looks like a piece that would display in a darker village scene.

First! I am very glad we got this a day early. This was my favorite piece this year, I love clocks and the Cuckoo/ fairy tale theme, and oak forest inspiration. My favorite parts are the witch’s hands and faces on the trees, I believe to be representing spirits based on what the winner described in his post. I also really like the songs it plays when it “cuckoos” . I am also very excited to see what unicorn piece you got and hope the UPS doesn’t take that long (they do that a lot as you may know). See you then!!
Yeah from here til the end of the season, while I'd like to stick with Fridays...I'm gonna kinda just let them fly as soon as I get a chance to film :)

I have two of them actually! My 2017 one was called Haunted Pumpkin Patch, and my 2018 one was called Trick or Treatsville. I have lengthy videos of each of them on my channel :)

I didn’t get this piece because it was to hard to fit into my carnival/ haunted neighborhood theme. It’s a great idea though. I’m excited for your upcoming video. I went crazy this year picking up wheel of horror and scary-ousel and know that feeling quite well🥶 thanks for a great video!

Hey Pat, I just collect the ones that appeal to me. I have figured out a way to make things work for the channel though, where I can talk about all of the big new releases each year :)
I don't care about this one that much, I feel that it's too different from everything else to fit in, I am planning to get the haunted library today though

Oh no! I love my cuckoo clock...a gift from a great aunt over fifty years ago. I WILL be getting this! I like that it will be a more stand alone piece.
