this was awesome never knew you could save the grips, i was literally going to get my irons done but felt bad getting rid of the grips I have thanks randy!
That’s an awesome technique. Much easier than many of the others that I’ve seen exhibited. Can you talk a little bit more about the actual pump, hose and needle that is used. Thanks again… fairways and greens!
We used to jam an air hose through the top hole of the grip with similar results. This reality means that there are often a bunch of brand new grips sitting out back of golf shops from off other clubs, which they're happy to offload around half price. Often with your manufacturers prints on them and not the aftermarket brand's, which is cool.
I do the same thing with a small Gage hypodermic needle and syringe using Acetone. But i inject about 4-5 times down the length of the grip wist the grip back and forth like an Indian burn and slides right off. I can do a whole bag really fast some of my grips have been on 3 different clubs...
Randy, absofolutely (that's "absolutely" to the power of 100 for you non-mathematicians) bloody brilliant! When I change my grips I'm going to insist they do this too, I could then frame a bunch of them stacked up and it'd be a nifty piece of wall art. I'd call it "These Are all the Grips I Loved Before". #FriedEggsForLife
It makes a ton of sense if you have a shop and you waste a lot of new grips, but it’s not really cost effective to buy an injector for home use. Usually when it’s time to re-grip, the grips aren’t worth saving.
Ironically, I just took the grips off all my clubs last night. I like to regrip before each season. I haven't done it myself for years, (I used to do it myself back in the 80's and 90's when I was a starving college kid.) I just blow the old grips off with compressed air. One question; when I took my grips off this time I was surprised to find 6 layers of tape... I always take off all the old tape when I do it myself. I assumed golf shops did the same. I'd be lying if I said I noticed the difference, but aren't you supposed to remove the old tape before applying new tape? ... You know swing weight... grips size... whatever?
So does the needle go in the little hole at the top of the grip? Wouldn't that just pump the solution all the way down inside the shaft and risk loosening the head from the shaft? And yes I'm aware at how sexual this sounds lol.
Hi Randy, greetings from Wales, hope the blood didn't stain your shirt! You probably already know this but your call with Jim was featured on Callaway live on 1st of March.Come on Europe(I've started early), regards.
Grip snobs like me change them out before they are worn because we can't pick a grip that we like. The grips can be $13 a piece but I want to try something else. I may want to put the back on it it doesn't work out. For 9 clubs this is significant cost.
The only reason I re grip my irons is because I use a mid size CP2 wrap. Stock grips are way to thin for my fingers (sausages). None of the guys I play with want them so I just cut em and toss them.
OMG Somebody call an Ambulance..... I'll do it, right after I've watched Finchy's latest video. OH Then Marks got his daily vlog out, oh and of course Ricks video is up now as well. Can anyone else call it ??? Im too busy by the looks of it.
a p.g.a. pro that runs a shop where I golf blows them off with air and it only takes a second.HE sticks a nozzle in the hole at the end of the grip and has an air compressor..can blow 10 grips off in a minute...
Using this injection method can be very hazardous. Be extremely careful around the needle. Many hospitals will not treat injection wounds. I am speaking from experience.
this was awesome never knew you could save the grips, i was literally going to get my irons done but felt bad getting rid of the grips I have thanks randy!
I knew you could but I didn’t know it was as simple as a pump
coming home from a hard working day and watch you channel, i tell you what, this type of humor makes my day!
Amazing to hear this... thank you!
The King is dead. Scuba Steve is the new king. Long live the King!
It's because of you Todd, that my dad refers to my subscribers as his "Fans"
Fried Eggs Golf we all have our part to play.
I have used that same syringe that you have hundreds of times it works like a charm good job
I like the "shaft lubricant" at the end. Very useful information.
...slippery stuff
That ending 🤣👌🏻 never saw it coming

That's handy Randy.Good work.
So funny, that's what my wife calls me... just replace "handy" with "worthless"
During installation, if your grip gets stuck halfway, is there a way to continue it or do you have to pull it off and start over again?
Man you are going to be busy at the masters with those smooth skills mate.
Great vid Randy. I'd like to yell 'You are da Man' But I'm from England so.... Good job mate!
Thank you.
Could you have please post a link to where to purchase the needle ?
Brilliant !!! and fun too :-)
Please keep posting
Superb man. great Tip. sunny side up.

You should be on proper TV Randy. Best golf videos on RUclips! 😂
Thanks!
can u apply this with superstroke putter grip as well?
HAHAHA! If I only knew this before removing a precious grip from my driver I would be happy, but now I'm sad... Oh well... GREAT VIDEO BY THE WAY!
Great video, Randy! Just curious: Is the double-sided tape really necessary to keep the grip securely attached?
...doesn't hurt.
I'm going to be reshafting my clubs in a week or two you should do a DIY on that too :)

Awesome DIY. Maybe new format you found. More DIY videos on club fitting, making, and repairing. Of course Fried Egg style though.
...naturally
Great stuff man. Keep it up.
Thanks Jon!
Cool tip. Great ending :-)
blow it off with compressed air. Heat the grip if it turns out to be a bit difficult. Works beautifully.
May try this with a new putter grip. Thanks
Info on where to buy the hand pump and needle system?
Where did you get the needle for this method?
Thats cool! I didn't know grips can be saved
Now you do... HIP HIP...
Funny as hell unexpected ending.
Will grip solvent also do the job?
Where can I buy this pressurized injector
your a genius or im just a dummy :) this video helped me out a lot btw doing my clubs.

Any chance you could share with us where we can get that product you used
Michael Lim My bad, you can get the same one we have at GolfWorks.com. Thanks!
Simple, basic, "white spirit" works just dandy!
Great video! Does that needle/pump thing have a specific name? Can you get it from a general hardware store?
Never mind, I just read another comment asking the same question!

Don’t worry, I found the like button!

James Bond... big fan of your work.
Fried Eggs Golf thanks but I'm not allowed to talk about it!
haha - thoroughly enjoyed!
Me and my dad just bought the grip remover thing that is made out of metal, and we saved all of our grips
Savin' grips with pops... sounds like a great Sunday!
Where can I get that pump you're using? Great tip Randy!
www.golfworks.com/pressurized-golf-grip-remover/p/GS6/
Usefull and funny. As always, great job. Oh... And are you OK, Bro? 😂
Thanks for asking... yes, I am. Nice to see a subscriber that cares ;)
wonderful!
Thanks Youngsun!
I had no idea you could do that. But why would you want to save old grips anyway?
Grip snobs like me change them out before they are worn because we can't pick a grip that we like. The grips can be $13 a piece but I want to try something else. I may want to put the back on it it doesn't work out. For 9 clubs this is significant cost.
Randy, ever played golf in arkansas? Keep up the great work on the videos
Not that I can recall... but chances are if I ever had been in Arkansas, I would have been too drunk to remember ;)
Randy. Same deal with a super stroke putter grip?
Can... definitely more difficult though
Can you do this with SuperStroke Grips?
Patrick Allen It's a different process. But.. Yes you can.
What SiouxPreme Golf said...
"and don't forget to save your giblets."
The only reason I re grip my irons is because I use a mid size CP2 wrap. Stock grips are way to thin for my fingers (sausages). None of the guys I play with want them so I just cut em and toss them.
Where's our masters rap and very informative vid!
OMG Somebody call an Ambulance..... I'll do it, right after I've watched Finchy's latest video. OH Then Marks got his daily vlog out, oh and of course Ricks video is up now as well. Can anyone else call it ??? Im too busy by the looks of it.
...text me on how his Triton video was.
Fried Eggs Golf it went left 😂😂😂😂
I usually just hook up my air compressor to 100 psi, stick it in the end and blow up the old grip to the moon and then slap on a new one.
What's the solution that's used ???
Mineral Spirits
"Grip companies hate him"
Can you make more videos!! Yours are so good but you never come out with them that often
Cool tip....I hope he's okay though
Hi Randy
Funny as F¥€K 😂😂😂😂
Sup, Thanks!
No health and safety at your shop?
A Kleenex has many uses!
that's pimp. how hard is it to put on a grip ?
Literally half as difficult...
There is a video of Rick and Pete doing a regripping to see who can do it the fastest.
hahahaha
Thanks for the info
In the words of Chick-Fil-a... My pleasure.
you should take the song "how to save a life" and turn it in to how to save my grips
OMG I didn't see that coming........made me actually lol. I should have known better....
You see... I can be serious... for a little while.
Why hasn’t the Golf Channel hired you yet 🤔
That a lot easier than jamming a clothes hanger in the end and turning it.
Works great for unlocking cars though...
a p.g.a. pro that runs a shop where I golf blows them off with air and it only takes a second.HE sticks a nozzle in the hole at the end of the grip and has an air compressor..can blow 10 grips off in a minute...
"Save the juice!"

Should have worn one of the many aprons hanging on the wall behind you... Nobody wants to see a perfectly good shirt go to waste. Great video!
You should never work homicide, "Did you see that dead guy... what a waste of nice pair of khakis"
I did this before, looked down the shaft and the white spirit squirted in my eye. WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES KIDS
