    I was considering this, but it seems far too complicated for something that's supposed to be a practice amp.

    I think that the issue with Android, assuming no issue with the amp, is an imbalance in the impedance, or more likely the lead to your android phone. It's only recently that some Android phones went over to the same wiring configuration as Apple (CTIA) for the TRRS connector, and I am not even sure that all Android phones and other devices have. So if you have a a different configuration standard then that will be your issue. You could actually be shunting your signal to ground. If, as another has mentioned, it works brilliantly with an iPhone then the cable is wired for CTIA. This is actually an issue with some non apple laptops that use the TRRS for combined stereo audio and mic. There are converters around, or you can buy leads that are wired CTIA one end and another standard the other end.

      @@chocolatecookie8571 There is the chance that I was just unlucky. I guess the lesson I get from this is to buy close to home so if it does go wrong you can return it easily.
      As a side note; I've also got preamp/reamp box made by JOYO that's been in constant use for over a year and it's been perfect. I bought that to review it, but after the AMP failed so soon I thought I'd use it properly first to see if it's good over time. I'll have to review that soon. 🤔

    Could you tell me how to access the 36 drum patterns as I seem to be able to find approx 21 (based on the amount of clicks as I rotate.) Am I missing something? Nice in depth review.

    • @guitar-academy
      @guitar-academy  3 года назад

      Yes, I don't like the way there is no display to tell you where you are on the drums, but the control is digital so the number of clicks are irrelevant as it just keeps going. I need to do an add on to this review as a couple of weeks later it just died on me . . 😒

      @@guitar-academy Thanks for replying...I have sent a few recommendations for future updates directly to Joyo China...one very important one would be a trouble-shoot guide and some way of updating the built-in software with an app or pc connect-wire or some such for (customer-feedback-based) tweaks/updates. Though my 5 hour rehearsal went well yesterday (purchase week 2 only) I found the 10 min cut-off annoying...and cannot be over-ridden with the mains/transformer cable plugged-in. (In rehearsals/studio, there may be more than 10 mins between playing - in our case at least. I won't offer neg-feedback on the looper switch as it may be my poor footwork which has trouble switching the loop on/off. However, the drum/beat speed doesn't seem to slow down enough...again, perhaps I'm lacking the necessary dexterity? As for the sound(s), I am able to produce a couple of useful user pre-sets which will enable either strum or soloing for gigs with my mando-family instruments - DI will also come in handy...and sounds good connected to a 2nd small amp as alternative monitor, exceptionally good. I have also managed to build a mic-stand attachment without marking the factory product (longer M4 screws on a foot-plate with flange...to allow mic stand attachment). I wouldn't recommend this modification to anyone without caution as they could unwittingly endanger the (often fictional) g-tee time or knock the unit over; mine is very stable at low elevation levels. (A dodgy stage surface might be different.) I noticed also very mixed-messaging in the instruction-sheet as to unit placement. I think I'd do the same as manufacturer - lots of cautions. Well, I'm pleased with the unit in some important respects...so long as it doesn't die prematurely that is?
      By the way, I don't think this unit is particularly low-priced...though most battery-loaded amps are going to be pricey just because re-charge battery-power hikes-up the unit-cost. All my amps work on battery-power and have proved to be extremely reliable/stable.
      Keep up the insightful reviews and perhaps give a nod to those who perhaps amplify other e-instruments: -oranges are not the only fruit- :)

      @@guitar-academy I really wanted a Joyo DC 15S. I was very saddened to hear the news.
      Not so long ago I tried a Katana MK II 100 212, a Fender GTX 100, but there was something about both that I didn’t like.
      I saw the Joyo DC 15S as a simple and great device because I really liked its many sides. The fact that it has a good quality footswitch at all that clicks very gently is more subtle than the GTX100 has. I liked that it has a loop in it. Not very much but beautiful sounds and effects. I also saw its flaws but it was compact, simple and not too high in watts, which is just enough.
      What can you suggest instead that would represent this knowledge?
      I’m sending the GTX 100 back for a second time because it glows, it’s too loud, the sounds have a very accent, and the bluetooth is slow.
      But let's say a VOX Adio air gt and boss rc 1 pedal can be good?
      Or a BlackStar ID core V3 or maybe a Line 6 Spider MK II or a Positive Grid Spark and a Boss RC 1?
      I don't want to be too complicated. What do you think?

      @@li5668 Just because mine failed doesn't mean they are all doomed to fail, I might just have had a bad one. I have no idea what to suggest as an amp to buy because amps are very personal because we're all looking for something different. All new amps come with at least 12 months warranty but it's wise to buy the amp from someone in your country, because it can cost you more to send it back than the amp is worth. 🤔

    I am surprised that the amp is broken. One issue with the loop is that which is very important for me that it doesnt save your work when you're offline, it disappears. Is it worth to buy this amp only for recording and looper? or you will need extra looper? Boss RC

    • @Andrey.Balandin
      @Andrey.Balandin 2 года назад

      The looper is only 30 seconds, I don't see much value in saving one loop of 30 seconds. Its purpose is entirely different. It is for practicing playing to your own chords, to learn improvisation, to noodle to a grove, to try out song chord and song ideas, and as such this is nearly a perfect looper as you would be recording and re-recording loops many times in one session instead of sticking to one pre-recorded loop... If you are serious about recording, use a daw. If you want to busk, use backing tracks from the phone (although this amp is not loud enough - go for Roland Street (EX) for serious busking).

    • @Andrey.Balandin
      @Andrey.Balandin 2 года назад

      Regarding Boss RC looper, there is a very equivalent but cheaper alternative from Nux, which I really enjoyed using (until I sold all my amps and pedals and switched to DAW with plugins, midi foot controller and studio monitors). It would be interesting to check if we could get the looper to work with this amp though at all. The issue with loopers and amps is that you really want to put the looper in the FX send-return loop. This amp doesn't have one. Without the send/return option your options are: 1. put the looper before the guitar input (which means all effects will be applied to both the loop and the solo). 2 Put the looper in the line out and loop its output back into line in of the amp (this is likely to fail due to feedback loops created between the line out and line in or even if it works somehow without feedback, you wouldn't be able to layer loops because the quality would deteriorate...
      Honestly, DAW like Ableton is just better.
      If you really want serious looping, go for an amp with an effects send/return loop and looper pedal, or again try Roland Street EX with has also a built-in serious looper (but it's much more expensive), or else you could opt for a floor processor with good looping capabilities and plug it into a PA or portable powered speaker.

    • @egemensozer4983
      @egemensozer4983 2 года назад

      @@Andrey.Balandin Well, It is all about the budget as you say. You are totally right. Roland Street EX is one of the top quality. At least the amp should have the line in but if the quality get worse, send/return option is priority on the amp. I realize most amps dont have it. Digital DAW software probably the best solution to get rid of these pedals and more cables. I like Nux . I have Nux Mighty which really have all in one small size. I am happy. but not enough. I will buy the second clean tone amp to connect each other. Maybe Vox gt15, Roland Cube , Mooer sd30 or Boss Katana. But anyway, You've found the best solution. I will consider about it, thanks alot!
