    I'm not sure what my hover pitch is but I set the pitch to +12 and -2 so with my pitch curve it probably would be about +5 thanks for the tip on the parts I'll have a look.Ive had it since about 2008 bought it as a kit,I've been concentrating on electric helis but decided to get the shuttle running again.

    I can fly circuits but still struggle turning right did start flying nose in but had a nasty crash with one of my scale helis when a link broke in flight and it knocked my confidence a bit,and I always feel quite nervous when I fly so it holds me back a bit.

    I restored a shuttle from 1985 flew it once but the clutch broke and I can't get the part I need so it's been put into storage,I like nitro but get such good run times with my Trex 's that I tend to favour the electric now,I'm in the UK so always battling the weather as well.

    The hirobo shuttle was the only helicopter i had any success with years ago. I started off with a kyosho nexus and it was problem after problem. Im thinking of getting bavk into helis... Woukd you reccomend a shuttle or one of the trex helis. Im not into 3d btw. Cheers

      Hello Chris, I would definitely get a Trex over the shuttle!! Mainly due to spares prices and the fact that they are more modern😄👍🚁

      @@IansRCExploits Cheers for the prompt reply... Reason i considered shuttle is that hirobo still make this bird and midland helicopters sell it... Good pointvon spare parts though the Japanese helis are expensive. I woukd only be hovering and flying around but i want a deceny size heli. Can a trex 500x be made geriatric???? Cheers

      Yes Chris you can tame any Heli down!! With modern radios you can adjust pitch and throttle curves very easily also when you build the 500 you can set your blade pitch lower!! For 3D they would have -13 and +13 pitch but you could have -10 to +10 which would make it a lot less aggressive!! And then with modern transmitters you have dual rates and expo all this can be set to make a very docile flying Heli😄👍

    They also sell the hirobo schweizer 300 which is a sweet scale heli.

    Yes I think mine does rattle a bit I had a lot of trouble with that starter shaft the grub screw kept coming loose so I used a button head screw and it's been fine since,did you space the starter socket away from the bearing?if I remember rightly I increased the clearance from the bearing slightly.Your Shuttle flies realy well, in the UK a lot of people don't like the Shuttle.

    After flying raptors for 2 seasons I find the shuttle a nightmare for servo arrangement and forget about changing a glow plug it's not a well designed heli like the raptors but I wanted to fly something vintage. I have some bugs to workout but I think it will be a nice scale flying machine.

  • @retrohelicopters3948

    scale flying is all I do 3d is not interesting for me. That store I told you about sells a bell helicopter fuse for your shuttle if you like scale. Do you do forward flight and circuits or just hover. Your blade tracking looks spot on !

  • @retrohelicopters3948
    @retrohelicopters3948 8 лет назад

    Yes there is play there , the shuttle does have a better design then the raptor with the 2 bearing blocks supporting the clutch bell the raptor only has one and allows slop in the clutch bell. I changed the pitch rod to a normal rod with ball links on both sides. Not a fan of the z bend linkages.

    I'm running the OS 32 but I've started having realy bad throttle issues so I think I need to strip the car and then re adjust the low end needle.

    Does your shuttle rattle when it sitting idling, mine seems to don't know if it's normal maybe it's just the start shaft . Doesnt sound great,it flew great today though put 4 tanks of circuit flying through it today.

    What hover pitch are you using, when I set my pitch on the table for 6 degrees pitch it won't lift. I think it's lifting at much higher pitch which is confusing me. All my raptors hover at 5.5 to 6 degrees. I am running the o.s 37 in mine excellent engine but discontinued now. How long ago did you get it, was it the arf version.

    Nice I just bought one off these off Amazon flew good but came new out of the box with a bent spindle. Waiting for the part. What engine are you running.

    If you ever need parts I found a place called the hirobo fan store , seems like he has most parts since parts for these seem harder to find.

    Pretty cool flying, I do like these big old nitro helis, from a quick google about this one it looks like you can still buy the kit brand new.
    Did you fly this using your Spektrum?
    Do they have different settings for different style swash plates, my little Esky adjusts using 3 servos where as my old school nitro one (kyosho nexus 30) only operates off 1 servo.
    Would it be able to work for both configurations?

    • @IansRCExploits
      @IansRCExploits  4 года назад

      Yes they cater for most swash plate types!! My big Heli's I set up on Futaba!! They are good but the receivers are very expensive, so I have a Futaba T6J, 6Ex and a Spektrum Dx6i, Dx8e and a DX8 gen2 I also have 2 Dxe that came with ready to fly planes but I never use them as you have to plug them into a pc to change their settings.

    Hirobo Helicopter - Sceadu Evolution DO YOU KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS MODEL IAN IF IT'S ANY GOOD CHEERS 🍻

    • @IansRCExploits
      @IansRCExploits  2 года назад +1

      No I've never owned one!! I had a Shuttle +2 and the parts were very expensive!! Compared to a modern Electric Heli the Hirobo was like flying a Bus, I have no Idea what the Sceadu Evo is like!! Have a search on the forums like Heli freaks to see what comes up 😀👍
