David Byron was the soul of Uriah Heep. Mick Box has stated: "He never sang a song; he lived the music. Therefore, he touched everyone who heard his voice, he was very convincing."
So much to say.. this was the first album from Uriah Heep that I ever heard back in the early seventies.. this band spans from the late '60s right through to today.. with many band member and vocalist changes.. but they've always had people that can sing.. guitarist mik box is the only original member still playing with them.. they have so many great songs this being probably one of their most mellow.. they are probably my second favorite band behind Kansas/ with over 25 studio albums.. check out weeping silence.. or another mellow one across the miles. 👍
There is no "typical" Uriah Heep song, on this end of the spectrum listen to "Come away Milinda" and "The Park" as well as others. The band had many colors to their music.
You guys ever done any SLADE? Dare you to try 'raining in my champange' or their live version of 'born to be wild'. On their soft side 'how does it feel' or 'far far away'
Not a bad song, Magician's Birthday was the middle album of 3 of Uriah Heep's best. If you haven't you should give a listen to Circle of Hands and Rainbow Demon off the album before this, Demons and Wizards.
Beautiful 70s song 🌨️ Terrific reaction K&S ☔ 🎹 Have a gr8 week 🏖️
It seems you are the first to review this truly beautiful song. Well done. The singer, David Byron, was very highly regarded.
