This song just popped into my head in 2020 and I was flooded with memories. Driving around town, or out in the country, with the windows down the summer after senior year blasting this album. Ooof...
It's been like 11 years since I last heard this song, then I remembered it again after having a similar situation where I ran into someone that I was immediately interested in. You imagine all the perfect ways things could go afterwards, another chance meeting where you hit it off and things develop from there, but in reality you know it will never happen. It's a real bummer. Here I am much older than I was when I was in high school and heard this song, but I'm still the same awkward person who can't bring myself to take that extra step to talk to someone that I won't ever have the opportunity to talk to regularly. Someone else characterized this song perfectly, missed opportunities.
You only have one lifetime to live. Embrace experiences and don't live with regret. Even if it opens you up to an embarrassing moment, embarrassment is easier to live with than regret. 😉 I've never heard this song, but someone mentioned it in the comments of a recent Post Secret post on Instagram.
"It feels so wrong to sing this song, but maybe, somehow, you'll hear me...and hum along." This song is creepy but beautiful at the same time. I just love it! hahaha :)
I think this is what I love most about Ludo. They never have the traditional love songs. Most of them are beautiful songs about the darker side of love.
I totally agree. Being from the Lou, I've known Ludo for a long time, and just because they go mainstream doesn't mean they're automatically gonna suck or anything. They'll still be the amazing people they are, they'll just be better paid for it :P
they were AMAZING! :D they played old stuff too which was awesome, not just from Yout're Awful, I Love You. Andrew Volpe is so goofy its amazing. they put on such a fun show. it was a blast. and it was pretty small, in this club inside a hotel, so they were able to do a meet and greet and i got to hug and take pictures with Andrew, Tim Convy and Tim Ferrell. it was pretty spectacular if i do say so myself lol!
yeah i did get their autographs. it was pretty amazing haha. you are going to have SOOOOOO much fun when you go see them! they put on one of the best shows i have ever seen! im pretty sure they are going on the Uncle Festour, are you going to see them then?
Its a very good song and video, the end is pretty sad when his dream doesnt come true. and they walk away from eachother. I love the "vigilante-bushwachk through the jungles of peru" part :P
yeah I saw them after one of their shows. it was awesome. they signed stuff, took pictures, made jokes. actually we were just sitting around in the back of the room as the band before them was setting up, and we looked into the hallway were merch was set up, and Andrew was just standing there not talking to anyone, so we went up to him and talked to him. 'twas awesome!
Hahaa I love how at 2:22 he randomly goes off on some wild movie fantasy where he rescues her and they fall in love! OMG so funny! "Maybe you'd be kidnapped by pirates and they would take you to their hideout, as pirates often do" lol!!!!! This band is so quirky, I love them! I wonder who writes the lyrics...that's the best part....
lordy lordy lordy Caylenie! idk who youre talking to but they definitely havent heard "Horror Of Our Love". i saw them live last Sunday actually, and Andrew did that song, and we were singing along and when he was like "that was seriously creepy...i thought i was creepy...but you guys are CREEPY." it was pretty funny.
@EbonyShadow07 the end of the movie and the song are talking about a dream he's having, the pirate spiel is just to reforce that it's just a dream, and we've to wake up from those dreams, life doesn't move by dreams. Even if the dreams are better then life, you have to move on. (That's my view about it, though)
@killcomputer I like this music, but I'm not a hipster. There's nothing ironic about the way I like their music, though - I just like the sound and feel of it. Does that somehow make me a hipster? I actively introduce people to the band and am happy when they've already heard of them. So. People who aren't hipsters listen to this, too.
the lyrics are kinda cute. ahaha. in a stalkerish kinda way. but the whole " and while the silly human race talks to droids in outer-space we grow old and laugh about this song" part is cute. :D
I don't understand why everyone gets so made and they start to throw around words like sell out and mainstream... Isn't that the piont to become rich and famous and let everyone hear what you have to say? Good for them. They are talented and cool let them do what they want.
@cyborg584 oops i meant him.. ha ha i was talking to my friend on the phone at the same time and she said any while i was typing.. apperently it transfered into my type.... all well if you ever meet anyof the band members... share them with us!!

Ya pirates are actually quite frequent all over the world, you just never hear about it. Their mainly in the indonesian area, and the carribean.
They have a video for this, too?? Man, where the fuck have I been??
@LuvStruckMess This was their first video...unless I'm mistaken.
For all those who like LUDO, try 'House Of Heroes'. DW, it's not an advert for my band, they're just awesome. New album, 'Surburba is epic'
this song is so awesome, yet kinda creepy at the same time, but i love it anyway!! :D
Love this song. Lyrics get a little goffy at times, but they have a good meaning behind them.
I believe that Andrew posted tabs up on their message board a few years ago.
I loooove Andrew Volpe. He is my hero
loveee
UNDER RATED
whats-his-name is wearing the same "i love" shirt as in the "good will hinting" video lol
@killcomputer

How about St.Lewis Missouri?
@LuvStruckMess I feel you. Like why is this the first time I'm seeing this video?
LOL! Where did that whole pirate spiel come from ?!?
Matt is an incredible drummer
the lyrics are kinda cute. ahaha. in a stalkerish kinda way. but the whole "

we grow old and laugh about this song" part is cute. :D

Yeah but the end is sad when the dream doesnt happen. i sang this song to my girlfriend, she loved it :D
i'd totally be for getting kidnapped by pirates if a guy wrote a song like this for me.
@cyborg584 oops i meant him.. ha ha i was talking to my friend on the phone at the same time and she said any while i was typing.. apperently it transfered into my type.... all well if you ever meet anyof the band members... share them with us!!
