Visited mainland China once. Everything looked run down and third world outside of the tourist attractions. Quite the opposite as I pictured. Pollution was unbelievably horrible. Many homeless people sleeping in front of shops. But in fairness I would consider mainland China better than Philippines. Nowhere close to Japan or Taiwan in standards though.
You might be referring to what's happening to current US except maybe the pollution which China still has but as an American am think moving to another country to live because US is not my country anymore by the way the government treat its citizen.

As a Taiwanese living in China for the last 13 years, there are times where I get completely infuriated with some of the rude, selfish people in China. But as I spend more and more time here, I find it harder to leave because on the flip side I love how safe it is, how convenient it is and the cost of living is so much cheaper than the west.
Having lived in Taiwan for 40 years and having dealt wtih rude and selfish Taiwanese, I find it very refreshing to live in China. There's too much hatred in Taiwan and too much praise for the US although the US is the main instigator of the rift between China and Taiwan. The US doesn't care about Taiwan at all and is only interested in using Taiwan for its own benefits.

Different peeing and pooping in the streets should not be an acceptable cultural norm. I went back to visit relatives as a teenager and my uncle asked if I needed to go poop, to just go around the corner and he would get me tissue. He didn't even offer to find me a restroom.
Laowai probably did something that someone or the authorities in China was after him about 5 years back. Laowai had to to hop across the border from Shenzhen to Hong Kong by foot, then scramble back to the US. Laowai and Serpentza were doing all kind of things together in China, I am not surprised both got themself into the same trouble, then fled China in a big hurry. Visited mainland China once. Everything looked run down and third world outside of the tourist attractions. Quite the opposite as I pictured. Pollution was unbelievably horrible. Many homeless people sleeping in front of shops. But in fairness I would consider mainland China better than Philippines. Nowhere close to Japan or Taiwan in standards though.

As a Taiwanese living in China for the last 13 years, there are times where I get completely infuriated with some of the rude, selfish people in China. But as I spend more and more time here, I find it harder to leave because on the flip side I love how safe it is, how convenient it is and the cost of living is so much cheaper than the west.
Having lived in Taiwan for 40 years and having dealt wtih rude and selfish Taiwanese, I find it very refreshing to live in China. There's too much hatred in Taiwan and too much praise for the US although the US is the main instigator of the rift between China and Taiwan. The US doesn't care about Taiwan at all and is only interested in using Taiwan for its own benefits.
There are rude and selfish people everywhere. Its not exclusive to just one country.

Different peeing and pooping in the streets should not be an acceptable cultural norm. I went back to visit relatives as a teenager and my uncle asked if I needed to go poop, to just go around the corner and he would get me tissue. He didn't even offer to find me a restroom.

Laowai probably did something that someone or the authorities in China was after him about 5 years back. Laowai had to to hop across the border from Shenzhen to Hong Kong by foot, then scramble back to the US. Laowai and Serpentza were doing all kind of things together in China, I am not surprised both got themself into the same trouble, then fled China in a big hurry. Laowai did document how he fled to Hong Kong on his older videos. These 2 buggers have been spreading hate ever since they left China.
