ScienceCasts: Total Eclipse of the Harvest Moon

    This Sunday, Sep. 27th, the super Harvest Moon will pass through the shadow of Earth, producing a lovely amber total lunar eclipse.

    Good news for people in the South of England,the sky will be clear from 7pm until 3pm on Sunday 27th so far.

    The eclipse can be seen in Europe and North America only. The full eclipse will start at around 7pm on Sunday evening,and will last for one hour.

    Full eclipse will start at 10:11pm EDT that means for the people in the UK it will be 3:11am BST, + 5 hours,and ends at 4:23 BST, as GMT is not used these days. (British Standard Time)

    Just got done looking. A pair of binoculars or telescope make it a whole tot better. Don't try a smartphone cam because unless you have a super modern phone like the Note 5 and know how to use it it won't do justice.

    So I wonder what _actually_ causes the eclipse? All over RUclips we're seeing videos of people getting out their telescopes, looking over long distances, and seeing *no curve.* If there's no curve, then the whole mechanism of an eclipse, as explained in the video, is called into question. Do you dare look into this new mystery? ;-)
