theres a lot of really good and short gls! theres things like ‘goodbye my rose garden’ (3 volumes), ‘after hours’ (3 volumes) and also ‘our teachers are dating’ (4 volumes), this video was so helpful, i think i’m going to check out no. 6
@@amandak.4246 yeah they are quite different, goodbye my rose is set in victorian england, and after hours is about djs. theres also a witches love at the end of the world, which is 3 volumes and about witches :)
i always love these vids from you! ^^ i remember you recommended no.6 in your lgbtq+ manga vid and ive since read it and it was such a good read!! tysm for having impeccable taste and always giving the best recommendations!!
yes!!! i feel like we have the unpopular opinion but it was realistic imo, wish we could have got a little more insight on how the characters ended up the way they did but i wasn’t mad at it
@@tsukkinotes Big same, its a thing of on the one hand a lot of development happens off-page that id have liked to see, on the other it probably would have pushed it to a 9-10 volume series and I think its got really good pacing at 8 I could see people being upset at the ending if they wanted really specific things to happen though, like setting their heart on an outcome and disappointing themselves when it dont happen
''Not Simple'' looks really interesting I'm looking forward to picking it up! a short (6 chapters) manhua I'd like to recommend is ''Mia - Neverland Above The Clouds'' by Wubao/Jae Liu. I was left open-mouthed from the cover alone and it just gets better and better
I don't know why I thought no.6 was way longer. Now that I know it's only 9 volumes I think I'll read it. I kind of also want to read ACCA. I watched the anime and I really liked it, so eventually I would like to get to the manga. Great video. These were really good recommendations.
thank you! glad you were able to get some recs and yes no.6 is not too long! the anime is also great though, if you liked the acca anime i think you will really like the manga,, quickly became one of my favorites after finishing it
With so many long running series, I am always on the lookout for short ones especially oneshots. Easier to collect and then read and bam you're done. Lol. I'd love to see what you include in part 2 whenever it comes!
agreed! always so satisfying to find a good and short series,, will definitely update once i get through some more (i went on a spree in like december reading all my short series i need to do that a again lol)
The second omnibus for no. 6 comes out tomorrow! I had heard about no. 6 forever, but I thought it wasn't for me. Decided to give the anime a go, and it was so beautiful! I'm just going to get the omnibusses now as they come out. I'm currently reading blueflag for a book club, and we won't finish until like October, but I can definitely see why it's so polarizing. Some people love the protagonist because of how relatable he is, but I kinda like the supporting cast way more.
yes no.6 is so good!! i'm considering getting the omnibuses since my singles are kind of beat up, and how are you liking blue flag? i found most the characters in the series relatable
They are, I just don't particularly like how the male characters treat the female characters. The girls aren't perfect, but I feel like they go through a lot more growth than the boys. Maybe it's just that they bottle up a lot more that later comes out as anger. The girls also go through it, but they apologize and cry when they need to.
damn i read the first vol of a silent voice (the movie is my absolute favourite) a while ago, thank u for the reminder! bloom into you is probably one of the first manga series ive finished, and it has a very special place in my heart :D
no problem! the silent voice manga is even better than the movie imo so hope you can get to it soon! i also enjoyed bloom into you way more than i thought i would,, im always weary of gl series
Now I'm interested in checking out the Acca 13 anime as your always recommending this series. Reading shorter manga series is always like a double edge sword for me as I always tend to wanting to know more about the characters and what's happening afterwards.
the anime is good!! and you're right i do get that feeling sometimes but with all the ones on this list i felt pretty satisfied with the story,, mabe the two lions or our dining table i would like to see a sequel for since they were just one shots
hello again, tsukki! thank you for the recs! ☺️ blue flag was already on my list, but i think i will add no. 6 to it as well! i don't do gross stuff well, but based on your descriptions i should be ok (organs are the main thing that bothers me, not people becoming what sounds like mummies, lol)
heyyy no problem! and ya for no.6 the people kinda just shrivel up but there’s also some really messed up stuff, mostly dead bodies and bugs but no organs if my memory serves me correctly
I love Tomo-chan is a Girl!! Added BL Metamorphosis to my list ☺️ My favorite short manga series that I’d recommend is the 2 volume omnibus, Haru’s Curse (josei/romance/drama) - really hit me in the heart seeing how they dealt with their grief and feelings of guilt, and the ending is good 💖
(i assumed your username was a reference to tomo haha) and i've read haru's curse! i liked it, it didn't hit me hard personally but i enjoyed it, i don't really read anything with "forbidden romance" vibes but i thought it was interesting how the story played out
@@tsukkinotes (yeah, it is 😂) Glad you enjoyed it even if it’s not one for your collection! I seem to like romance with some drama as long as the drama isn’t super annoying 🤔 Thanks for the recommendations! ☺️
i own that one but haven’t had a chance to read it!! i love these short wholesome bls, my summer of you by the same author as the two lions is also great
I love Taiyo Matsumoto but I haven’t read Sunny yet.. I really need to give it a shot. On another note, you inspire me to want to make Manga videos but my anxiety is too strong. 😅 Ah also Blue Flag and A Silent Voice are both great Manga I have read. I also didint mind Blue Flag’s ending. I also grew up in foster care and had a really rough childhood, so I might be able to relate to Sunny which makes me want to read it more!
i actually started this channel partly to help with my anxiety,, if you look at some of my earlier videos it’s like i’m a whole different person lol so if that’s what’s stopping you i would say give it a try and see how it goes if you’re up for it! and yes ah sunny is amazing, it may be even more impactful for you then, but it also may make you sad, sometimes i don’t like reading manga that deals with subject matter that is TOO relatable to me if that makes sense
@@tsukkinotes Hmm wow, thank you for sharing that about yourself! I think I might honestly just go for it. I recently bought a lot of manga this month and last, so I thought showcasing everything I picked up would be a good start. Also, I totally get you on that! Sometimes I need a break from manga or stories that are too depressing and need something lighthearted or that can take me to a unique world I can't relate to.
I think once I finally read a Taiyo Matsumoto series I will end up wanting everything that he has ever done. It'll be a big moment when it happens haha!! Thanks for the suggestions Tsukki!! - Jerry
YES that’s how it happened with me haha ping pong is my favorite sports anime so i knew i wouldn’t be bothered by the “ugly” art or anything but ya once i read the series it was game over,, sunny is really amazing also tekkon kinkreet but i know that one’s hard to find in english
Two of my favorite short series are full moon o sagashite(7 vols) and kamikaze kaitou Jeanne(5 vols for viz release). Theres also the Ibitsu and paradise kiss omnibus collections. Maria the virgin witch is good too at three volumes plus a fourth titled exhibition that shows the characters lives after the events of the story. I forgot to mention Love in hells omnibus collection. It also has a two volume sequel.
@@tsukkinotes Paradise Kiss is one of my favorites too! I like to listen to music while I read. I happened to be listening to Back Again by Archie during the runway scene and it fit so well. I hope you find something to enjoy in my list. I really enjoyed your video.
