The metal box with the foam insert should be a standard thing as it allows you to put the kit in a drawer without the box while retaining the option to throw it back in the box and go mobile. Removable foam inserts are one of the best things to come down the pipe in along time imho.

I want to point out to everyone. The ratchet heads that attach or snap to the extinction handle. Can be used as a small ratchet or hand ratchet for removing nuts or bolts after you have broken loose.

I’m taking about the 3/4 inch ratchet head as a hand cranking tool.

Well, the wrench extender was being used on a tool that it wasn't designed to be used on.
I knew it was going to go bad when I saw what Clay was doing.
It is designed for the bottom of the "v" to take the load of a flat wrench. It wasn't designed to be utilized with a round shaft of the breaker bar, which sits higher in the "v" and in turn is putting outward force on the "v", spreading it apart and causing the failure.
I'm sure that it would not have failed, and probably would have exceeded, at that amount of pounds feet if the load was seated in the bottom of the "v" as intended.

The VHC42 kit got me thinking with another comment here.
Im getting ready to start as an airframe apprentice and ill be buying hbr3, dd2, hbr8, and maybe hbr1046. The company does provide a lot of bits im told as consumables but a kit that comes complete with 4 or 5 of these in foam would be sweet. Maybe an option for assortment of bits or for us 1/4 straight and phillips. A clear top case with foam insert if bits were included would be sweet for aviation tool accountability.

    Hello again, Vim Tools
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Question for you, on the TW26. What SAE sizes will it accommodate. And secondly, when in the close position. How long is it. In the extended position I think I heard you say 27 inches long. Again thank you 😆

For the VHC42 I like the VIS112 ball hex/torx kit package made with ABS and a clear top so you can see what bits are inside. The metal case is nice like old style tools used to come in. I plan on picking it up with the FRBB34.

Hey guys, great video. When will VIM come out with 12 point 1/4 and 3/8 chrome sockets? I've already changed all my 6 point stuff out, looking to complete my set.

How does your natural S2 steel finish handle moisture like humidity and if it got wet from rain does it rust quickly?

I’d just like to have the bits in a half cut mag rail bit base. Would also like to have the bit base to hold 5/16 bits

I just picked up harbor freight's icon bit set (which you guys should be suing them for if you didn't make it), but definitely would have gone with the vhc42 if I'd known it was coming out

I love VIM tools only thing i want to buy is the ratchets but those handles i just cant force myself to do it. Reminds me cheap Chinese handles

I have two of their ratchets, and while I LOVE the ratcheting action and the way the gears feel, having a comfort grip handle is new and foreign to me. I grew up and worked for years using plain steel handles. Takes getting used to, but I don't think they're cheap handles. I'll link you a video that Clay did on the handles.

I hate a quick release flex head ratchets beacuse when you go to press the quick release button, the head just flops down. PITA... Thats why i dont buy any of the tone flex head ratchets.

Oh yeah the age old problem of forging being a famously weak way of creating a tool.

The FRBB34 looks decent but the profile is HUGE compared to the Harbor Freight Icon MEME toolkit that does basically the same thing. BUT they packed in 2 extra bits. Their new one will be about the size of yours, probably smaller and have sockets. Uh oh....competition is beating you. Time for a redesign. :)

    • @BryanMiranda96
      @BryanMiranda96 2 месяца назад +1

The FRBB34 is a ball end set, icon doesn't have anything to compete with that. The little meme ratchet set isn't a competitor to a ball end set

I decided to give icon a shot awhile back. 1/4" flex head ratchet... one was seized out of the box, one started free spinning just passing it around the guys at the shop. The 3rd or 4th actually lasted long enough to find itself on a fastener. It's bigger than the Pittsburgh equivalent. Pittsburgh is much smoother. The icon is clunky with a ton of back drag. For the price of icon, I'll buy gearwrench. I can't wait to try vim stuff if I'm able to get back to work after I recover from this back surgery and cancer.
