Got my first Ridgeback 16 months ago as a pup, having 60 years of owning and breeding livestock guarding dogs including Komondors, Anatolian Karabash, Bouviers and Russian Black Terriers. I have to say this dog is probably the most rounded and delightful canine I could imagine. Needs firm and fair handling, probably not a good choice for a novice dog owner, but if you treat it right, it, in my experience, gives back so much. I wish I had discovered the breed earlier. Caveat, my vet has said if you get a bad 'un they can be maniacs. This one is far from a "bad 'un" 😊
Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Your insights on Ridgebacks are invaluable, especially coming from someone with so much experience in dog ownership. Thanks Chris !
We are picking up our beautiful Ridgeback boy 17th November. Not our first dog, but our first Ridgeback. At 6 weeks old, he has the sweetest nature as we have soent tine with him. Ca not wait to bring him home ❤

Long ago, my 8 month old Rhodie caught a burglar sneaking around outside our home. He refused to let go of the guy's thigh, but two cookies convinced him to do so....
I adopted a rescue dog and it was a Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed with Pitt Bull and she was a joy got her from the shelter at 1 years old named her Seven and she was 17 years old when she died Beautiful color and 5 year after I got her I rescue another dog Mastiff a male I name him Soda the two dogs got along great he was 15 years old when he died but Seven was the Alpha dog and ran the show
Thank you for sharing your heartwarming story. It's clear how much you cared for Seven and Soda. They were lucky to have you as their human. Thanks Frances.
Thanks!

Haha, sounds like your Rhodie had the burglar in a tight spot! Who knew cookies were the ultimate negotiator? 🤣

Agree they are amazing!! Rescued my boy too and he's rescued me
The dog at 1:12 is a Dachshund
Thank you for pointing that out! Dachshunds definitely deserve the spotlight for their charm!
The ridge isn’t only found in this breed of dog….. what about the Thai ridgeback….? Please do proper research before making videos……
Ah, the Thai Ridgeback! The underdog of the ridge world. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
