Eid Mubarak from Mexico. I celebrate EID with Mexicans Muslims. There is a small community of Muslims in San Cristobal de las Casas Chiapas Mexico. Islam arrived 29 years ago. They celebrated with tacos and tamales. The meat was halal. I visited the mosque and we prayed. It was beautiful to see the Muslim and Christian come together and celebrate and be happy for one another. There is a longer version of this video available. I get stopped my Mexican Military.
they speak tzotzil and they have a unique culture. They study the Quran and learn Arabic. Yahya has visited Mecca and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for Hajj. there are 4 Masjids/Mosque/Mezquita in San Cristobal. The son of Yayha is named Muhammad. Islam is growing in Latin America. There are many Muslim Latinos in Mexico and the latin countries. Many have converted from Christianity and now are revert Muslims. Some were Catholic before. Al Kausar is the name of the mosque

Mexicans are very hardworking and warm family oriented people. I see them on sundays going to church as family from kids to elders all dressed up and take faith serious. I am glad to see Mexican having found Islam :) May Allah make it easy on them, life is a struggle across the globe for many.
I hope there is not a big grown in Mexico, because we have a very very different values of liberty of free thinking and equal rights for everybody that are completely confronted to the sumission and middle age mentality of islam in a lot of things, we had a civil war with thousands of deads in XIX century to get the liberties that we have now, I hope don't go backwards with the fundamentalism of an even more restrictive religion.
