      Yes! They very quickly became one of my top three flowers.

    You have such a beautiful garden. And those sunflower trellises are amazing. I think I’ll try that. 😮

      I can’t believe how great they turned out! I’m definitely doing this again next year.

    Last comment, I keep thinking of things. I bought a tiny tidbit hydrangea and I think I accidentally put it in too much sun. It's almost dead BUT I also bought a wee white hydrangea and even though I just planted it, it's thriving with loads of blooms. I think you'll love dwarf hydrangeas.
    I also have a "black" sweet potato vine for fall

      I’m so excited for the tiny hydrangeas! I hope they do well up here. They definitely need more shade in my garden, at least during the hot summer days.

    Catching up on videos, so I know this is a few weeks old... Your garden looks gorgeous as always! Just wanted to mention I planted my strawflowers in a raised bed a lot closer together this year - maybe 4-6 inches apart - and they did great! They've bloomed all summer through fall & keep blooming even though I've cut a ton of blooms for drying. Love them! Next year I need to plant gomphrena like yours too - already have the seeds for next yr 🌺

      I definitely need to plant my strawflowers closer next year! I loved them but there was too much open space in the raised bed.

    OMG I hate morning glory! In the Pacific Northwest it is a nightmare. 😂

      That’s what so many people told me before I planted it! I’m hoping since I’m growing it in a container it won’t spread anywhere but I guess ill find out next year 😆

    Did you fertilize the morning glories? They do best in poor soil without fertilizer.

    • @ChicagoGardener
      @ChicagoGardener  2 года назад

      I think maybe I fertilized once or twice this year but that’s it. They’re pretty root bound in the pot so I think that could be the issue 😬

    Love your garden! I've been taking notes so I can begin a container garden next Spring. I especially love the dahlias. Do you pull the tubers and store them over Winter?

    • @ChicagoGardener
      @ChicagoGardener  2 года назад

      Last year was my first year trying to overwinter. I dug up one and stored it in vermiculite and the other I left in the grow bag and moved it into the garage. I had better success with the one I left in the grow bag plus it was a lot east overall! I just moved the bag back outside once it was warm enough and it started to sprout again.

      @@ChicagoGardener Thats awesome that it worked out! Everything Ive read said to dig them out, but i will try your method. Thanks!

    Your "morning glory" is confusing to me. I have a moonflower and the leaves are darker.. idk if that's normal like color variation. Does it only open in the evening? I'm in Atlanta and get massive blooms due to the humidity. I bought a lemon verbena plant recently and the tea is amazing 🥰. Raspberries are also my favorite fruit. I'm tempted to get a plant
    You're too hard on Oklahoma Pink! They look adorable

      It’s confusing me too 😂 all I know for sure is the seed packet showed blue flowers and these are definitely not blue.

    I want to add Zinnias to my Garden next year. I also want to try Straw flowers. Where do you buy your seeds?
    Love Your Herb Rack. I want to try Herbs next year too. I want to try drying it to use in cooking during the Winter and fresh in the Summer.
    I love your container Garden. I have never had much luck with Container gardening but you obviously have a knack for it. 💖

      Most of my seeds are from Johnnys Seed but I also pick up whatever brands are in the garden centers.

    Loving this video! Could you please give the the name of your prolific Dahlia, I could not catch it and I struggled with mine this year as it seemed they did not like the amount of sun they got.

    Do you spray the petunias with BT weekly for budworm prevention?

    • @ChicagoGardener

      I sprayed right before we went out of town but they still got them 😩 I feel like the budworms knew I wasn’t there to monitor.

    What fertilizer do you use for your flowers?

    • @ChicagoGardener
      @ChicagoGardener  2 года назад

      A bunch of different brands depending on what I have on hand, but any fertilizer that says bloom boosting I’ll use on my annual flowers!
