I am watching this at 2019 and I envy people who have many Bionicle sets since I was only able to get toa mata pohatu when I was a kid. It saddens me that Bionicle has been discontinued. Now that I have the means to buy them, I still can't buy any since in where I live it's very difficult to buy used or opened toys from other countries, import fees are too steep and Bionicle sets are very rare in second-hand markets.
Those pieces you were unsure of are actually recolors. they were used for shoulderpads on Mantax and as a body for Carapar. Two years later, it was used on Malum in the exact same way Carapar used it. I know I tend to be pretty wordy with my comments on your videos, but this time I really don't have much to say.
I think out of all the sets I took apart I regret this one the most. Karzahni had a build that while clumsy held a lot of character, and also acted as fanservice in that a character from 2006 was given a set. Today's equivalent would have been akin to releasing the Makuta combiner in early 2017 with some different parts. I think 2007 overall was probably my favourite year despite the lime green syndrome many sets suffered that year.
Honestly it's depressing that people sell originally 13$ lego sets for 130$ dollars. People need to realise that is completely unreasonable. Also I always wanted a Karzahni

(and others I sadly did not get the chance to read/hear) But they covered karzani’s story and the toa of the first toa-teams battle to find his friends again (to make up for losing his team) near/in Marih-Nui, and the trap was a vital part of the story as you got closer to the end! Edit: Which I think already know??? 1:13:10 (maybe I should see the whole video before posting more)... Anyway, watched your entire video and absolutely loved it!... (I missed the mask, but that’s only me) I even agreed that I like how he was illustrated and made his stand in the 2006 novels, and since I never got this set of the “fish” version of him, I even get to see how it really does still stand out! Thanks!
I remember having this set and putting it together over a christmas. Unfortunately like all my bionicle it was soon dissassembled and combined with my other lego, so its now confined in one of 3 lego crates.
I had Lesovikk as a kid. Good set with a solid vehicle. If you were to pick him up you could try and find some green Visorak on the cheap to replace his joints with. It's what I did as a kid after he promptly disintergrated.

There's just the one, with the ability to transform using the rebuilding processes he used in the realm named after him (oh, and Artakha has similar problem, BTW; guy, place, and a Rahi). Also, his mask (before the Pit Mutagen fused it to his face and ) was the Great Olisi, the Mask of Alternate Futures, which could make himself or others experience alternate or possible futures. His Flaming Chains could somehow burn underwater, and are said to be able to restrain a Manas crab. One of them was broken by Lesovikk and the other was confiscated by the Order of Mata Nui. There's some Karzahni info for you. Hope it was helpful.

ok wow I was not aware those chain pieces had origins in G1 Bionicle, I was of the mind they were custom made for hero factory breakout. Makes me wonder just how many old G1 pieces were used for modern constraction.
Personally, I've always liked G2 more than G1, for various reasons, but if you need a break, I couldn't care less what Bionicle you're talking about, or buying, or building, on-camera or off-camera, especially if it's slowly driving you to madness like it sounds like it is. Keep doing what you're doing, however you want to do it, and I'll support you with that decision fully.

I like G2 more because I’ve always been a fan of the quick armor system they had with the ball joints. Been a loose collector since before Bionicle were even called bionicle, and I still think the jump from G1 Hero Factory to the new armor system was coolest thing ever. G2 is also just generally more realistic in design imo. I don’t think the g1 designs are bad in any way, but sets like Nihdiki and Gukko really required a lot of imagination imo (which again isn’t necessarily a bad thing) I have faith that if G2 got a few more years to it we would see crazier designs.
I didn’t expect to reply to this today, but mostly it’s because G2’s visual design appeals to me a bit more. G1 is plagued with old Technic issues like the gaps and infinite unused pinholes, and it’s all for sets that have generally less articulation and more haphazard colors and whatnot. Especially looking at the Toa in G2, they get a much better balance between form and function, and everything kinda just clicks together better, nothing like the Bahrag or post-06 sets where just building/using the sets risked breaking and damaging things. The one thing I will give G1 is that it’s runtime gave it a lot more chance to experiment with more unique figures, and I kinda wish G2 got the same chance. Not that I can’t enjoy both generations, of course, I love them both a ton.

As to why the trap has tubes? Id say its probably some kind of pneumatic or hydraulic system since it used pistons. Also, it adds a little detail.
