One problem I have is that Muzz lists "Ahmadi" as "Sect" of Islam, but it's unanimous amongst scholars that Ahmadis are not Muslims. Is the official position of the Muzz company that Ahmadis are Muslim? If not, why is the app open to be used by Ahmadis if it's a "Muslim Dating & Mariage App"? It's a small thing but I'm curious if the founder has a reason behind it
With how big Muzz is, I also wonder why they haven't gotten Islamic scholars involved with their app to make sure everything being done is Islamicly compliant or as much as it can be? Or Have they? With all the success, it could be the case that there is also massive amount of fitna being promoted within Muslims, and I feel like that could be minimised if you had a Shariah board or Islamic scholars which had an oversight

Answer 1: because they want to tick a box for diversity and inclusion
Answer 2: because they know majority of scholars would not approve of the app

Not just that but I've seen from a cousin's use. The app is heavily image based, even if you select to filter only hijab wearing women for example , the app will still show you uncovered women sometimes half naked. That's because it prefers to show profiles rather than not to keep you on it.
Even when showing hijab weark8ng person if they are dressed indecently there's no moderation on islamic grounds. So essentially as a Muslim who's supposed to lower his gaze and stay far from fahsha, here is a heavily image based app where most users are exposing their awrah and the primary means by which people are attracted to each others profiles are full-body images.
It could have simply asked users for facial images or unashamedly have a islamic standard but it doesn't for "Inclusivity" which is disingenuous because it just wants your money.
It's not just ahmadis, it allows people who in their profile are name only Muslims yet openly disbeleivers, I've seen this from my brief experience. I get it, its just another app perhaps with good intentions but ultimately puts money making above all else. I just can't believe this channel hosted these guys since they have so much misguidance from them. Have you seem some of their promotional "islamic" material, it is just a cooperate way to capitalise on muslims

If you think about it. It's good they have ahmedi as a seperate group. It then allows the real Muslims to see this person X is a Ahmedi so I can avoid. Similarly the Ahmedis can find Ahmedis too. I'd rather they join and can be identified than join and just get the "muslim" tag when it's universally agreed ahmedis are not Muslim's. Never used Muzz nor seen the app but just commenting as I'm listening to IFGs interview..

I have raised this point in the past and the team responded by defending this group of non Muslims.
The amazing thing though is that a lot of Ahmadis have now and continue to embrace Islam. Once they do this then they are one of us and shouldn't ever be spoken down to, we can then marry them as fellow Muslims.

Disappointed to see this from IFG especially with no/minimal pushback on the many issues with the app from an Islamic Perspective, blatantly promoting it. Not to mention their marketing strategy. IFG has done brilliant work, but it seems on a regular basis they are making big content mistakes. Coming from someone who's a big supporter of IFG.

The initial criticism posed to the founder were done so poorly and the host didn't really challenge some of the points perhaps because he's ignorant of how the app works. But I'm suprised i thought he studied some sort of alim course? where is the islamic perspective the host sounds almost ignorant which is disappointing considering this is supposed to be an islamic channel. Instead what, are we supposed to take pity due to their legal woes ?
I know personal family who used that app and i wouldn't wish any muslim use it except the most desperate who have failed all other avenues. What does the shari'ah say about looking at images of half naked women? Is it acceptable to seek something through haram means so easily?
Thats the point, your supposed to be islamic channel yet islamic ethics, spirit and halal/haram is not even being considered.
The app in its essence, like all online apps, is NOT a marriage maker, its just a online platform that enables communication between opposite genders. The reason why is diiferent from what the thing is. This is important because there is a false equivalence you make between online apps, and matrimonial/mosque services who sometimes do way more concrete steps in facilitating marriage rather than just communication. They also REGULATE the enviroment used for communication on shari'ah grounds. Something devoid on muzz and is that acceptable to be so flagrant in voilating deen? Many use it as a convenient tool for dating and zina, some are quite open about this on the platform itself ive seen it!
Also the percieved good of "marrying peope" as a justification for laxity with regards to islam, is ridiculous and not that great. Because as i said the app doesnt enable marriages it just allows communication, so people who are used to dating and fahsha find it a convenient breeding ground to do so more efficiently. Moreover the app allows disbeleievers in deen and ahmadis, so if it faciliated communication between a muslim and a kafir im guessing thats still outweighed by the percieved good of marriage ?which isnt really measurable on the app since its just a communication tool. A Muslim who's drinking and seeking a similar partner is more likely looking to find a haram relationship ship than marriage. The app happens to be a Convenient way of finding someone on a similar wavelength. So being inclusive is not a justification of laxity of the rules of islam.
If a open sinner comes to masjid seeking a imam to conduct the marriage, then yeah he should not exclude them but that's different because everyone should be encouraged to marriage and good in general. But that justification doesn't work for muzz as its not enjoining a particular good, it simply just allows communication between likeminded people hence it'd oft3n used for dating

The app is just the tip of the iceberg. Theres also the events, adverts, social media pages all consisting of either freemixing, music, tabarruj or multiple at once

Ifg needs to take a long think about whether it is sharing halal content. The alimiyyah course is not something to be taken lightly and the host should start Vetting video ideas more carefully. There was also a recent one about credit cards and how he previously thought they were okay, when riba is a major sin and debt isn't great either. I hope this channel isn't more focused on views and traction than keeping content halal

I want them to implement more features that show people who are compatible with me. More emphasis needs to be done here. Maybe quizzes or something to gather data, and show more relevant profiles.

Could you make a video on Amal invest? It’s now rebranded to Fund Purifier.
It’s really hard to make invest in American ETFs like SPUS from the UK but the above platform seems like the easiest way to invest in shariah compliant ETFs from the UK. Could you go over if it’s safe to use and other concerns?

I have to say the way he talks and behaves are entirely different things; thats a sign of a good lier and manipulator. I can tell you that good Muslim values are not linked to money, as he stated, "Muslims need to be in business" no, it's about a strong belief and faith

    • @Sr68720

No, Muslims do need to be in business, and politics and lobbying. We just need to do it in a halal way.
