It’s only when you have attempted to play this on classical guitar that you understand how hard is to sound this clean and beautiful.
Thanks for the kind comment, all the best!
this is the best way to play this piece. Best speed, best pace, very smooth. I am motivated to start guitar lessons after listening.
Thanks so much and all the best for learning the guitar, I’m sure you won’t regret it! 👍
@@WilliamJohnston Your response means so much to me and I am so appreciative of it. When I learn to play such a beautiful piece I will def. appreciate this video even more. Thank you William.

I was enjoying the coughing background noise but some guy in a suit playing a badass guitar keeps interrupting it and it is very annoying :\
There's always someone coughing - I suspect all coughing people love classical guitar or perhaps that doctor's prescription!...
hahaha that's a sad reality
Haha great comment

I know there are many tutorials of this piece on youtube already, but would you consider sharing your own? In my eyes you play this better than anyone I have seen on the internet, it would be an honor to learn from you! Thank you!
Thanks Chris! You’re not the only one who’s said that, maybe I’ll need to do a tutorial if the demand is there!
@@WilliamJohnston I think it makes sense! Do more of what is working :-) Side note: It would be cool if you could also cover more songs from Yann Tiersen/Amelie.
I swear that ill learn this peace. No one might see this comment but ill keep my word.

Cheers James! Hope your finger is doing well and able to play?
Its good thanks, Able to play no problem. Keep meaning to make some videos myself! This style sounds great on classical, you should do some more, I think an arrangement of 'On the Nature of Daylight' by Max Richter would be nice too!

Merci beaucoup!
thankyou so much, its a beautiful performance. I just wanted to know how do you manage to play in public without feeling anxious?!! thankyou
Thank you very much! I would say it comes down to how prepared you feel. In general I would advise playing material that you are completely in control of, and practise playing it a lot (eg every day for a month) once you have decided on the exact right hand fingering, left hand fingering, exact sitting position etc, so that you are as consistent as possible, so that once you’re performing, you’ve already played it correctly >100+ times!
Excellent 🏅
Emre Yazgan Thank you!

Um dos melhores...
That was amazing, bud. Did you create the tabs or consumed them somewhere?
Thank you so much! I used free sheet music/tabs online as a starting point and modified to taste, changed some of the octaves here and there to better suit the original piano recording. 😃👍
@@WilliamJohnston Truly love this version, would love to be able to buy it so I can learn
Excellently played! Anyone has a good arrangement for classical guitar? Happy to buy and learn to play it.
Superb

well played!
The S2 merci!
very beautiful piece and amazing performance. Is there any chance you could post the tabs/music sheet of your playing? thank you
Thank you, I just used music available online!
I saw in a reply of yours that you are considering about making your own arrangements. If you do so please leave a link in my comment! Excellent execution with a lot of emotion. Your pace was just on point with this!
Thanks so much! It’s basically identical to the tab version that’s easily found online (Songster), that’s a very good starting point anyway!
Wow!
Cheers!
✨I practicing to play guitar & this is one of my favorite musical piano .This is awesome!
It’s beautiful isn’t it? All the best on your guitar journey!
You should make a video to teach this
Thanks Gerald, great idea?
Beautifully played and, even with my basic Grade 1 skills, I can appreciate the technical quality of your playing. I use this as a reference for my own technique particularly as regards left hand placement, fretting of strings, shifting and body posture. I love the way you can so clearly pick out the notes and rhythm of the accompaniment beneath the melody. I wonder what single piece of advice you would give a beginner as regards technique? Personally, I struggle with fretting the strings with enough force to get a clear note without fouling adjacent open strings. I thought about doing Segovia scales until blue in the face. Kind regards, James.
Hi James, thanks for the kind words!
Tough to find one piece of advice regarding technique as there are hundreds if not thousands of baby steps to take in the pursuit of good technique. I’d advise practising with a clear focus in mind, don’t try to do too many things at once. A teacher can help with this. But maybe even more important than that, my advice is stay inspired! The journey to playing an instrument is long, so enjoy the journey and never lose the love for the guitar, no matter what journey that leads you on! 😃👍
Beautiful, nice arrangement!
Arash Ahmadi thanks very much!
Increíble
LUCAOMDI thanks!
Can't you do a tutorial please! 'Cause you play graciously and I would love to learn
damn.. such a quality performance, but please... why use the camera mic??? the background noise is really terrible!
Thanks for the kind words, the tone of the guitar with just the close mic didn’t represent the sound of the guitar in the room at all, it was a compromised choice either way and the background noise was still picked up with the close mic! 🤷♂️
@@WilliamJohnston i see.. yeah, disregarding the background noise, the guitar tone sounds really beautiful and full
Wonderful!! Do you have the tab??
It’s on songster, though I have considered making an arrangement of my own adapted version!
Why is it so hard for me to tell what you're playing at 1:11
Awesome
sno0p3r cheers!
Wowwww!!! Amazing!! Can you share this sheet music with me?
Thanks for your kind comment, I’m considering making my own arrangement for sale, but you can certainly already find versions online if you search around! 🙂
