I miss the AC series so much. The micro mechanics of trying to anticipate enemy fire and dodge, the way it feels to get into that zone where everything becomes a mad dance and you just feel, alive. Like the AC through the controller is a part of you. It sounds hyperbolic and silly, but only those who've experienced it and hit that state of mind can understand what I mean. Maybe it's just a me thing? Well, a me and one other person I know thing, at least. We used to play ACV together and fought with only the two of us most of the time, against the bigger teams. We took a huge amount of the desert once. But we couldn't hold it with just the two of us and a buddy of ours occasionally helping. Not to mention my crappy connection at the time...

@@eathr349 Hey just a heads up. The original Phantom Crash is now 100% running compatible on Xemu. Pop your burn in there and have some fun. I know a lot of us AC fans either founded our mecha childhood in Mechwarrior, Mechassault, Phantom Crash, SLAI, Chrome Hounds, or all of the above.
Sometimes I think still of the midnight matches, playing against JP opponents online and then trading mech schemes and emblems back and forth. Some people got real deep into the weighting system, you could do so damn much in that game.

So many games tried to be this, but none of them come close to the feel of a fully fleshed out Armored Core. I've played nearly every game since the first one and I'm a total addict. I can't wait for the new one!
They aren't made like this because none of them are depicted to move like this in the anime except for maybe 00. Fromsoftware Gundam unicorn game but it's Japanese exclusive check out the gameplay.
Thanks for uploading good quality videos from this game. There are basically zero online and it's hard to explain to people why this game was so freaking incredible over a 144p video. I just hope the new game in development is more akin to FA and 4 than it was 5. 5 was so sad.
5 took getting used to but I enjoyed it. Not as much as acfa but it still was good. I play this game emulated, which makes it easy to record. And I just found how to duel people online, so hopefully I'll be posting some pvp soon. (As soon as I can find some opponents)
Five and verdict day was a shock to the system, hard to get used to being shoved back into a normal after burning the sky’s as a god in a next, but I can’t disparage them. They where good, but I do hope to be put back into a next, to feel the bloody speed and electrified adrenaline of the sheer force of those mechs

@@Shadow-sword tbh; on V era FromSoft kinda tinkering with AC formula too much, like the mech lore is such a downgrade even below Raven era AC because the NEXT AC are the cause devastation on earth because Kojima Particle,more than nuclear radiation. Because of that the core gameplay operation forced to changed too like: the AC are more shorter and cant boost up and need to kick mechanic(and the forced change of 2 mode: scan mode and combat mode because lack of certain past AC component) , and forced to team up for faction war.
I remember when I first got this game I challenged myself to only use blades throughout the whole game even in ordered matches. Hella fun but I never learned what guns were great/good/bad
I 100%'ed the whole game on all difficulties with one blader build on the latest version of the game. I wish I still had a copy of the game😭. I can't remember what it was called but there was an explody move that sacrificed your shields for major damage up close and I was so good at timing an overboost>quickboost>blade+explosion so I could fly up to anything at a thousand mph and 1 shot them. I used it online pvp and nobody could kill me lmao

Thanks for this, I’ve been using quad legs for the last few weeks and thought I was doing it all wrong. It was the only way I could get the white glint frame to carry a heavy generator without imploding.
I remember playing this game and only equipping the Moonlight blade when I unlocked it, it took me multiple tries but I finally mastered the machine I designed which was basically pure speed and timing with the Moonlight blade, it was awesome!

I just hope they bring back sword wave mechanic in Armored Core 6. Why did they remove it in 4 and 5??? That's the iconic Moonlight sword in every Fromsoftware games, especially in Gen1-3 AC, Dark Souls and Elden Ring, it should produce energy waves.
You want your blade on the right arm, not the left. There's a bug with the blade lock system that makes the right arm track better and get a red lock-on from a longer distance.
Eh, I never found the old controls to be too clunky. I much prefer the older pace if anything, it made everything feel more skillful and choregraphed and allowed you to truly test different parts and features without feeling like you are falling behind. The newer speed is a bit too spastic and hasty. Just my opinion.
Idk man. I love this one, but a moonlight blade should always be blue imo. Also, the 3rd gen moonlight had a REALLY cool design. Something about it made it look powerful.

There’s an actual in universe explanation how there Able to Handle it basically from what I recall they use a gel layer in there flight suits which absorb the majority of the shock when boosting so the pilot won’t be cream soup at the end of it

Are there any true combos or a rollcatch type system in armored core? Does the sidestep boosting provide i frames? Can any experienced players educate me
What I enjoy about this game is there are no s and the combos really don't make sense in this context. You can hit them enough to knock them off balance though.

There’s a very big learning curve to being able to move like this and doesn’t even showcase how much you can move in the air. When you start you definitely can’t do a lot of this stuff as you’ll feel like the expected giant mech who can slide around with boosters, but as you get more parts, learn weapon ranges and how they track, and build out more you turn into a gundam. It’s a transition into going into the crazy stuff.
Videos like these are going to start blowing up as souls fans try to figure out armored core

In the GPU tab check the "Write Color Buffers" box in additional settings. That'll fix your texture issue on the AC.

While I agree, I also like the hard sci-fi element. The waves are kinda silly and would have hit nothing in gen 4

The strategy here is simple but highly effective: back up and then the opposite direction of the opponent I love how twitchy AC players are.

Ahh yes Armored Core series. Some good games but why were the environments so dam dull and boring. Either nothing in them or just had a bland colour palette.
Machines just couldn't handle it. Xbox chuggs at this.

Are there any true combos or a rollcatch type system in armored core? Does the sidestep boosting provide i frames? Can any experienced players educate me
What I enjoy about this game is there are no s and the combos really don't make sense in this context. You can hit them enough to knock them off balance though.

I encourage you to try it, there are no heals and there are no s. Besides most of this game is spent in the garage.

There’s a very big learning curve to being able to move like this and doesn’t even showcase how much you can move in the air. When you start you definitely can’t do a lot of this stuff as you’ll feel like the expected giant mech who can slide around with boosters, but as you get more parts, learn weapon ranges and how they track, and build out more you turn into a gundam. It’s a transition into going into the crazy stuff.
