Yes, on California 2023 issued Driver’s Handbook page28, Parallel Parking #5, “…steering your wheel when your rear wheel is within 18 inches of the curb”. Therefore, California DMV will give your “within 12 inches” a wrong answer.

    QUICK TIP EVERYONE!!
Do not take these answers as ‘absolute right’ always if you get one wrong, or are unsure search it up on google with your state after it. For example the tailgating question for me is 4 seconds instead of 3. And the U turns are incorrect because for my state, U turns are only prohibited when there is a sign or it endangers others.

Especially at crosswalks, drivers should remain prepared to stop for pedestrians, even if crosswalks are not marked. Pedestrians may emerge in business and residential areas , including parking lots, of course; therefore, drivers should be prepared to stop for those pedestrians, and for pedestrians who are within any part of crosswalks. Drivers should not drive through crosswalks until they are certain that no pedestrian (or bicyclist) is about to enter or pass through that crosswalk. Drivers must always remain alert to the safety and rights of pedestrians and [bi]cyclists

    • @MyTestMyPrep
      @MyTestMyPrep  Год назад +3

It seems like you're asking about pedestrian rights of way and the concept of marked or unmarked lines. Pedestrian rights of way typically depend on the specific laws and regulations in your region. Generally, pedestrians have the right of way at marked crosswalks (with lines) and unmarked crosswalks (without lines) at intersections. It's essential for drivers to yield to pedestrians in these situations to ensure their safety.
However, pedestrians must also follow the law and not suddenly step into the path of a vehicle when it's too close to safely stop. Remember to study your local traffic rules and regulations before your test to ensure you understand the specific rules that apply to your area. Good luck on your test next week!

There are contradictory answers here. In one, it says you should park 15 inches from the curb, and in another, it says less than twelve inches. There was another one... with a blown tire. First one said to gently apply the gas to maintain control. The next one says to gently brake.

question 14 is wrong you twisted it cannot make a u turn in a business district but you CAN make a U turn in a residential district if no vehicles approach you for 200 miles in california quoted from the book "
    You may make a U-turn:
    • Across a double yellow line.
    • In a residential district if no vehicles are approaching you within 200
    feet.
    • At an intersection on a green traffic light or green arrow, unless a No
    U-turn sign is posted.
    • On a divided highway if a center divider opening is provided.
    Never make a U-turn:
    • Where a No U-turn sign is posted.
    • At or on a railroad crossing.
    • On a divided highway by crossing a dividing section, curb, strip of
land, or two sets of double yellow lines.
    • When you cannot see clearly for 200 feet in each direction.
    • On a one-way street.
    • In front of a fire station. Never use a fire station driveway to turn
    around.
    • In business districts (the part of a city or town where most offices and
    businesses are). "

The general rule is that you keep 1 car length per 10 mph from the car in front of you. They would never use a time element because it is to subjective.
