@@aaanton11 I still haven't done it yet! I read my Haynes manual and it mentioned clamping the brake line when winding back the caliper, to avoid the possibility of flipping the rubber seals on the master brake cylinder! Do you ever clamp? I'm assuming you've never had any problems with flipping the master cylinder. Thanks again.

My garage is now saying they want to put in new brake discs as well, but that they also have to put in new brake pads because the ones I put in are now grooved to the old ones. Hi if you need to push the piston back in you can make a tool to do it . Get two bits of flat steel say 2 inch wide 6 inch long an 4 mil thick drill a hole thro the two bits of steel in the middle then put a nut and bolt 🔩 thro it then drill one peice again in the middle about 2 inch from one end then put another bolt thro the hole an the nut between the two bits of steel then put one peice of steel on the piston the other peice on the caliper then tighten the one 🔩 to work like a see saw one side will open up pushing the other side down pushing the piston back in to the caliper . Only cost two bits steel and two nut an bolts . 🔩

Just had my MOT and been told the front discs and pads will need changing soon.
So looking how to do it.
Now, all the pads I've replaced on previous cars have had a spring that pushes the pads away from the disks.
Where are the springs on these pads and if they have no springs what stops them rubbing on the discs constantly?

    Gi I have a problem/question about my aygo 2012 reg .
When you press the brake say 65mph down to 50mph there is a vibration in the footwell (I was not driving my son was ) but I felt the floor vibrate he said NO vibrations in the peddle or steering wheel .
Iv checked the disks not worped an no score marks
    Pads almost new .
Nothing lose or broken that I can see .
There is no vibrations driving up or down the gears it only happnds slowing down from 60mph above
If your doing 50mph an slow down to 40mph nothing..
    Only from above 55mph down
Brand new tyres (less than 3 months old all 4) .
What do you think it might be an how to fix it . Thanks

@@aaanton11 to be honest, I've just found parts in motion we're selling them for £13 less than Amazon, so I'm gonna return them as damaged just to be safe and save a few quid too as I might be needing a water pump, as I've a weird knock on the belt side of the engine though it might be rod knock but it's when I first start and when the engine is idle, what makes me think water pump is I've just changed the belt and this new one is under the correct tension as the other had stretched, I suspect you would probably agree with that analysis as the water pump pulley has seen some decent use from visual inspection and I did an oil service 2 months ago without any weird noises expect what the 1kfre engine is known for😂, some of the pinking noise has gone with a can of liqui molly fuel additive suspect carbon build up doesn't help that which you had is one of your other videos that worried me at first😂. If they are above the minimum recommend thickness and don’t judder, why change them, you are just throwing money away 💰👍🏻

You should have chipped the build up of rust off the discs, new pads just get torn at edges.

Hi mate. My front o/s brakes are very rattly when going over rough roads. I've linked a video below showing the noise they make.
    ruclips.net/video/9LypBMFV78w/видео.html
I took the pads out and put them back in the other day, the noise disappeared for a couple of days but has come back. Any idea what the issue would be? Cheap pads? The pads are just over a year old.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  5 лет назад

Thanks for the video, you need to remove the bolt , lift the Caliper, then pull out the slider as in the video 9.08 but pull it all the way out, the rubber boot pops off, pack it with copper grease and refilt, I would do top and bottom sliders, hope this helps👍🏻👍🏻🛠

If they are above minimum thickness and don’t judder, why change them!, you are just throwing money away 💰 they have been on the car for over 12 months with no issues. Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻🛠
