I read my Haynes manual and it mentioned clamping the brake line when winding back the caliper, to avoid the possibility of flipping the rubber seals on the master brake cylinder! Do you ever clamp? Thank you very much for your proven quality guidance in reducing my Aygo tyre pressures ......I had weekly, religiously kept all four tyres previously inflated to 32psi, I've dropped all four to 25psi & instantly noted a far comfier all round ride x...your advice is priceless xxx

My garage is now saying they want to put in new brake discs as well, but that they also have to put in new brake pads because the ones I put in are now grooved to the old ones. I've only driven 30 kilometers with the brake pads I put in, so I feel like the brake pads can still be used on new discs. Are they right?
1.34 used a chisel to grind down the edges & circumference of my discs on my 2002 Yaris,although not as bad as the Aygo thou.4.53 was like my pads lol Got mine fro £26 Brembo pads from Euro car parts in a sale.You should show the viewers you should remove the cap from the brake resevoir at the start thou....good video all in all.
A tiny bit more than 35 years messing with nuts and bolts and a formal mechanical education to go along. Unless I'm doing some brake oil/pipes/hoses intervention the cap NEVER comes off. Never spill, never any issues... Why in the world people continue feeding ridiculous myths beats me! :-O

Hi if you need to push the piston back in you can make a tool to do it . Get two bits of flat steel say 2 inch wide 6 inch long an 4 mil thick drill a hole thro the two bits of steel in the middle then put a nut and bolt 🔩 thro it then drill one peice again in the middle about 2 inch from one end then put another bolt thro the hole an the nut between the two bits of steel then put one peice of steel on the piston the other peice on the caliper then tighten the one 🔩 to work like a see saw one side will open up pushing the other side down pushing the piston back in to the caliper . Only cost two bits steel and two nut an bolts . 🔩
Just had my MOT and been told the front discs and pads will need changing soon. So looking how to do it. Now, all the pads I've replaced on previous cars have had a spring that pushes the pads away from the disks. Where are the springs on these pads and if they have no springs what stops them rubbing on the discs constantly? TIA.

I have a squeaky front right break pad though it's only making a noise when I lightly press the breaks.. would this indicate the need to replace the break pads or maybe just a clean?
Gi I have a problem/question about my aygo 2012 reg . When you press the brake say 65mph down to 50mph there is a vibration in the footwell (I was not driving my son was ) but I felt the floor vibrate he said NO vibrations in the peddle or steering wheel . Iv checked the disks not worped an no score marks Pads almost new . Nothing lose or broken that I can see . There is no vibrations driving up or down the gears it only happnds slowing down from 60mph above If your doing 50mph an slow down to 40mph nothing.. Only from above 55mph down Brand new tyres (less than 3 months old all 4) . What do you think it might be an how to fix it . Thanks
I would have said warped brake disc, you will only see with a DTI Gauge, but there is also a chance one of the front wheels might be out of shape on the inner edge (pot hole damage) that causes the same issue, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I'm about to replace my aygo brakes with borg and beck, the discs i ordered through parts in motion, yet the pads i got off amazon, the driver dropped the box with the pads in and ive now found one of the shims a little easier to move around than normal on its clips, should i rebend the clips to get it on tight or should i be fine once its clamped down in thr caliper, i'll likely be doing them and the drop links on my next day off next week, any help would be appreciated. @@aaanton11 to be honest, I've just found parts in motion we're selling them for £13 less than Amazon, so I'm gonna return them as damaged just to be safe and save a few quid too as I might be needing a water pump, as I've a weird knock on the belt side of the engine though it might be rod knock but it's when I first start and when the engine is idle, what makes me think water pump is I've just changed the belt and this new one is under the correct tension as the other had stretched, I suspect you would probably agree with that analysis as the water pump pulley has seen some decent use from visual inspection and I did an oil service 2 months ago without any weird noises expect what the 1kfre engine is known for😂, some of the pinking noise has gone with a can of liqui molly fuel additive suspect carbon build up doesn't help that which you had is one of your other videos that worried me at first😂. hi, bought my aygo from 2007 for 1100 euros in nederlands... good runner today passed mot but they said front brakes need replace. I saw that the aygo originaly uses Ferodo rear brake shoes so im putting feroddo front pads. but i noticed that you don t open de brake fluid resservoar ??
You don’t need to open the fluid reservoir if the level is correct. You would expect it to be low if the pads are worn, when you retract the callipers the level will rise to the maximum. Thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻

Didn't see you using an axel stand just a jack to support the vehicle? Why didn't you usesome brake cleaner spray to clean away the dust and dirt first, didn't see you using any brake pad lubricant either on the reassembly? Any torque setting's for the brake caliper or wheel bolts? But otherwise a good video
Get a hammer and tap away those rust on the edge of the disc then wire brush them.Are these Aygo's any good? I was thinking of getting one and get rid of my 2002 Yaris.

Hi mate. My front o/s brakes are very rattly when going over rough roads. I've linked a video below showing the noise they make. ruclips.net/video/9LypBMFV78w/видео.html I took the pads out and put them back in the other day, the noise disappeared for a couple of days but has come back. Any idea what the issue would be? Cheap pads? The pads are just over a year old.
Thanks for the video, you need to remove the bolt , lift the Caliper, then pull out the slider as in the video 9.08 but pull it all the way out, the rubber boot pops off, pack it with copper grease and refilt, I would do top and bottom sliders, hope this helps👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Have a look behind the dash, you will see the cable levers, pop off the cable to see if it’s the lever or the the flap that’s stiff👍🏻👍🏻

How did you attach your number plate to the bottom grill on your aygo?
On the right side of the grille it is not hollow, so you can use long 20mm screws to reach the plastic behind the pattern 👍🏻👍🏻Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Those discs should not have been reused, left side heavily lipped and both completely corroded.

You should have chipped the build up of rust off the discs, new pads just get torn at edges.
Just for you, when the pads wear out again I will replace the discs lol

Hi mate. My front o/s brakes are very rattly when going over rough roads. I've linked a video below showing the noise they make.

I took the pads out and put them back in the other day, the noise disappeared for a couple of days but has come back. Any idea what the issue would be? Cheap pads? The pads are just over a year old.
Thanks for the video, you need to remove the bolt , lift the Caliper, then pull out the slider as in the video 9.08 but pull it all the way out, the rubber boot pops off, pack it with copper grease and refilt, I would do top and bottom sliders, hope this helps👍🏻👍🏻🛠

An amateur's work. Discs is completely worn and rusty - must be replaced! New brake pads won't do it alone.
