All you need to know is in the Bhagavad-Gita written by Krishna 5200 years ago and the correct edition with all intact purports is the edition translated by AC bhaktivadanta srilla prabupada One must be celibate free from sexual thoughts also and must not eat flesh of animals. Death is a concept, similar to life itself, as long as you don't associate the true self(definitely neither body or mind) with either one. The reality is not real, and it is all but an illusion. Unlike the Abrahmic religions which force one God or one concept or one Way ( infact they go to the extent of saying that there is no other way than their own) , Santana Dharma is all about Self Realisation ,knowing about the inner Atman or the Inner Brahman. It is all about finding the truth yourself. It says that this truth might be different for different people but the knowledgeable call it by different names.Ekam Sat, viprah bahuda vadanti!! Each has to reach the destination by himself. Gurus, religion, prayer, worship all take you to that path. But it is the individual who has to walk on that path to self realisation or the ultimate truth!! Sanatana Dharma doesn't force a God on you. It says you follow and decide which path you want to take. Many different Liberated souls have walked different paths in this holy land Bharat.
Karmas and actions from past lives do have an influence on ones present situation. Once you realise who and what you are and the relationship one has with the creator ( consciousness) , everything changes. You're the creator of your life, change your thoughts, change your destiny. You have the ability to go to any planet you desire.

You don't go anywhere. Your mind just switches itself off from the body and withdraws the life breath. When another suitable hardware comes along it occupies and continues its trade. In the meantime it is in a dream world where it continues to enjoy/suffer what it planned/processed before death, all in slow motion.
Attachments will bring you back into the physical body after sometime in the astral and causal bodies. Find yourself and go within. The mind is always the speaker. The soul is always the listener

I have heard about brahm lok vishnulok and the highest shivlok, and only narak where a soul is remanded and that soul deals for it sins crying and shouting for help from his close ones but no one comes for its help because this soul never remembered all near and dear ones he lost before.
Nothing like that happens. It's all stories made up by the human mind as the human mind is capable of extraordinary imagination. This is all andhvishwas. Listen to Acharya Prashant and all your doubts will be cleared. We have such a big ego that we can't fathom the fact that we as a body mind complex will one day cease to exist forever. Just like we never existed before our parents screwed up! Wake up to the reality!

My humble pledge is that there's no "vaikuntha" or hell or heaven. There's no individual soul entity. There's no rebirth and if strictly interpreted there's no birth or death. Because there's is no " Me/ I" . The Hindu philosophy says so. The cosmic energy which has been termed as " parmatma" is a single entity and pervades through each atom present in the whole Cosmos . One of the best highlighting of this Hindu philosophy is the poem of " madalsa" . Our body is just a chemical structure which functions automatically and autocratically because that "Parmatma" pervades this chemical structure and makes it living and that inseparable, intangible part of the " Parmatma" is theoretically termed as "atma" . Though it is the intact "Parmatma ' but for understanding the part of the" parmatma " making the chemical structure will call body " living" has been denoted as "atma". Hindu philosophy reiterates time and again the " parmatma " as the supreme.
While it is true that conciousness is the absolute reality but when we see terminal illness patients suffering, accident victims in pain, people who have lost their dear ones it is difficult to say we are just body and mind. Are you able to detach in such cases, just curious

My humble pledge is that there's no "vaikuntha" or hell or heaven. There's no individual soul entity. There's no rebirth and if strictly interpreted there's no birth or death. Because there's is no " Me/ I" . The Hindu philosophy says so. The cosmic energy which has been termed as " parmatma" is a single entity and pervades through each atom present in the whole Cosmos . One of the best highlighting of this Hindu philosophy is the poem of " madalsa" . Our body is just a chemical structure which functions automatically and autocratically because that "Parmatma" pervades this chemical structure and makes it living and that inseparable, intangible part of the " Parmatma" is theoretically termed as "atma" . Though it is the intact "Parmatma ' but for understanding the part of the" parmatma " making the chemical structure will call body
" living" has been denoted as "atma". Hindu philosophy reiterates time and again the " parmatma " as the supreme.
