  • The unique formulation of the new ATOM by AMMO paints allows them to be easily used for both masking and free-handing camouflage. In today’s new video, Andreia Rodrigues demonstrates how to paint a 1/72 scale Bf 109 from start to finish using ATOM paints and various weathering techniques.
Throughout the video, you will discover how ATOM paints' strong and durable finish allows for quick and easy masking of complex geometrical shapes and speeds up the weathering process by eliminating the need for a protective varnish layer. They are also easily diluted for detail and precision application, while their strong covering power ensures that lighter colors can be applied over dark tones with ease.
Andreia also demonstrates effective weathering techniques using ATOM for precise chipping, Oilbrusher tones for dot filters and streaking, and enamels for panel line washes and simulating the accumulation of dirt.
We hope this video inspires you with your aircraft projects!

They look great. On the other hand, using a coat of varnish is easier than polishing a painted surface!

Thank you so much for your comment, of course you can also use varnish if you prefer.
We like to present as many options as possible to the community, but modelers should use the option with which they are most comfortable.
      Have a great day,

Just curious about the application of the aluminum paint prior to adding the top coat colors. I was thinking you might lay down some chipping fluid on those areas to support a demonstration on chipping the Atom paints.

10 minute cure before safe handling and masking? Where was this when I was a kid?

Unfortunately the Early WWII RAF set just released contains some generic colours which are a poor match to the actual colours.

Very impressed. I'm moving away from enamel / Lacquer based products and have been looking for an acrylic product line. I ordered several Atom basic colors to try out, see if I like them. Looking forward to using them on my next build. BTW, any chance in the future you'll be releasing paints in the "FS" (federal standard) range?

The paint job is very good, but the colors are not right. Captain Wilhelm Meyerweissflog 109 was painted gray, RLM 74 - 75. The red band was only on the sides of the hood, not between the machine guns and not on the underside. The spinner was only painted white on a quarter of the plane.

You sure aren't going to freehand camo with these paints. It sure don't atomize well.

@@epicforger12345 - Indeed! As are MRP paints, but the ATOM paints are also terrific for airbrushing, in spite of what that guy says. He obviously has never tried them or lacks airbrushing experience.

That's just not true, the metallic and RLM 65 paints looked rough but they were unthinned, the mottle was and it looked perfectly fine
