Probably because it might go against some form of game code of conduct like I would imagine a game that could seriously manipulate your computer without permission would be considered a form of virus or malware.

I'm pretty sure there is at least at steam a code of conduct/quality control that the game does only have read only access to all files outside of its own. and the same rule at every publisher, laws usw. probably even windows itself would prevent programs editing files outside of their own files

Vedal should be fine, I combed through the entirety of it and I didn't find anything problematic. Well except for all the game cheats he has installed, so he's a dirty cheater but other than that he's probably fine
