A WILD CAMP IN THE CHEVIOTS, A LONG HAUL BUT GOOD COMPANY, THERE WAS 3 PEOPLE KILLED IN THE PLANE CRASH TO FIND OUT MORE GOOGLE "CHEVIOTS VICKERS WARWICK AIR CRASH", ITS ALL THERE, I PUT A PHOTO OF THE LOCATION SO JUST PAUSE IT TO SEE. WELL WORTH A VISIT BUT LEAVE AS YOU FIND,
Good to meet up again mate yeah pitch was bad, weather miserable... yes a great trip! Liked the graphic at the end, I see you for the next one.
Scots Wildcamper was great to see you again. Roll on the next one. Whatever the rotten weather. Atb.
I don't know what shocked me the most, the size of Eddies pack or them breeks....Good God! Never seen that memorial before but what a good one it is and I love an honesty box, always buy, even if I do not like it lol. Steep climb up mind and that wind was a bloody nuisance but canny views. Liking the Alpkit table but not at £27 and yes, dog sick came into my mind as well. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worst the rain started, you sure that was August lol, cheers Alan
Alan METALMAN - Outdoors was a right old mixed bag. The packs were all about the same weight believe it or not. Lots of gear. Some history up there too. Lots of interest. I’ll definitely go back up. As for the breeks. Well let’s just leave that there 😂 Atb mate.
Enjoyed your film Andy, good ale, great views and Auchoup carn crash site brought back memories of my youth when I visited it often fifty years ago. Great film, thanks for Sharing. Harry.
Flying Haggis Films cheers Harry. Aye it’s some place up there. Hard to get there like but worth it. Love a good craft beer me. Atb mate.
Enjoyed the video bro, gee you and Eddie attract wind and rain like magnets there must be something in the water, lol. There is a DC3 that crashed in 1963 with 23 dead in the ranges just to the east of me and as far as I know most of it is still there although well over grown now. All the best
Ken Allen 19 crash sites in those hills apparently. Makes you wonder why? I love stuff like that. I’ve literally walked past the wreck in this video. Never knew about it. Yeah the weather hates us. It won’t win though. We will always be out. Atb mate.
Cracking video Andy,. I've always fancied a camp at Auchope for the views and hopefully the sunset over Scotland. Do you think it would be easier from the Harthope valley following the burn up or coming from Hethpool like you did. I know you probably dropped down a bit for the wind but is there any flat pitches on the top?.
Apologies for all the questions
Cheers
Graeme
Another great vid Andy! Spent a night at Mounthooly for my Birthday last September after watching one of your vids back then!
Paul Elliott aye was a good night. Mounthooley looks better now it’s all upgraded. Atb
Looked a challenging one that mate. Good old hike up and that wind looked hard work. We seem to have more settled weather in winter these days...bring on the snow!! .... great vid as always, Andy... ATB
Wildcamping101 aye I’m looking forward to a nice calm winter camp. The hike in was tough. Worth it though. I love eerie stuff like that plane wreck. Thanks for watching mate atb
Nice one Andy, looked a wild one! The plane wreckage was interesting. All the best from both of us :)
Gareth & Zoe Wildcamps it was dead interesting I love stuff like that. Going back as there’s another one on the opposite hill. Sorry bout the late reply. 👶 Atb you two.
A Great place to be. A bit windy? I have visited the cheviot’s last year. I walked from wark upon tyne to wooler. It’s called the reivers way. Absolutely stunning mate! But very wet. Got soaked to my knees in the swamp. Cried like a baby. I thought I was going to die there. But what doesn’t kill you make’s you stronger. Atb mate.
Rob Kruitbosch true. I know about the reivers they got about. Maybe we’re the modern reivers? It can be really wild up in those hills. Harsher than the lakes I reckon. But yeah as long as we’re careful it’ll be ok. It’s always windy. 😝 thanks for watching mate atb
That's a canny old hike, especially in that weather.....also concur on the post-hike fruit beer. So refreshing.
Chris K love that rhubarb beer. Well needed after all the hiking round. Made everything ok. Atb mate
Is it owt other than sodding windy up Cheviots, twice I've been & nearly been blown away lol..there's always a natural respect round those plane crash sites, there's loads round peak district I've visited & I always notice how you have a sense of respect for the site.niticed the table, good bit of kit & the lhfoon too,not bad Alpkit gear 😉 tfs mate.Andy.
Andrew Beavers aye. It’s always windy. Even when there’s no wind 😂 it’s a feature of those hills. Yeah definitely keep it respectful at those places. Very eerie. But fascinating all the same. I decided I needed a table. Ordered it in November last year. It came a week before this camp 😡 good gear alpkit like. Can’t beat it. Especially them pegs/spikes.
All the best mate.
Nice one Andy , weather a bit wild for august eh .. That wind is just unforgiving and never gives up . A nice location and an interesting look at the old crash site . atb Dave...
Border Rambler wind is permanently there like. I hate it. Disrupts a nice camp. Yeah the crash sites are fascinating like. I’ll visit more I reckon. Atb mate.
Great to see the legends out again! Crash site did look a little eerie like. Hope you remembered your earplugs! Lol! Haven’t tried the mince hotpot meal yet, I’m sure it tasted better than it looked? 👍👍👍
Anthony Payne it actually was quite tasty. I’m getting some others to try out. Also be the odd steak 🥩 the crash site was eerie. Quiet and odd. But fascinating. There’s 19 crash sites in those hills. More to explore. Thanks for watching Anthony. Atb.
Niceone that,Andy! I did like the re-cap graphics bit at the end.👍🤘
Fraser Connell cheers. Aye it’s a phone app called relive. Just load up and edit a bit. Cut the ads off the end. 😂 Atb mate
Cracking video andy canny windy up there but some great views was happy to see you reach the top was a long walk in atvb jimmy 😎 😎
Lundy's Wildcamp/Bushcraft 6 miles in 3.5 on a road. Hard on the feet that like. But worth it. Apart from the wind was a good camp this. Thanks for watching mate atb
You should just take a kite out with you, its usually windy when you're out and about.....give us a shout next time you are going out and i'll get the Mrs to hang the washing out.......good fun mate,.......Stu.

@@AndyWardle Ha,ha,ha.....will do Andy..👌
I think I felt the hair on my head move just from looking at all this wind alone. Haha. Cheers
The Wandering Falcon it was daft. Spoilt us sitting out like. Sick of it. Every camp there’s wind 💨 😆

@@AndyWardle your right on that one Andy :-)
Cracking effort that Andy as it was some slog. Rain and wind are a pisser when out but i have to admit I love hearing it on video lol oh and Dog sick ha ha ha! looked like a good one with some good lads. Hope all is well, Steve
Outdoors Lifestyle tasted a lot nicer though 😂 aye was a canny hike. Coming back the road was never ending. I’m resigned to the fact I’ll never get the perfect camp 😝 the rain in the tent sent me to sleep like. Some people don’t like it. Atb mate
Hi andy August more like winter mate that was windy and wild thing is you wake up in the morning knackerd Anyway its still good to be out lol Thanks for that andy that was a nice long one atvb chris
Christopher Smith I keep missing all the decent weekend weather like. Not to worry just nice to be out. Cheers for watching Chris. Atb.
Hi Andy. I’m interested in the Soulo. May sound a strange question, but what made you chose the green? Was it just personal preference or a technical reason? Some say the green can be too warm when the sun gets on it. I’ve heard the brown doesn’t do that. Red too bright?? Good to have you back😁
Neil Farrimond alright Neil. It’s really personal choice for green. I think the red ones fade faster. The sand ones blend in well to hillsides. But personally I like the dark green. All tents are warm in the sun but I rarely get sun 😂 so I never suffer. Whatever the colour they’re great tents. Hope that helps. Atb mate
Didn't look that windy Andy😂😂never seen the plane wreckage but always fancied going to look for the big one on West Hill, maybe a possible future Back out?
Never mind Donald Where's ya troosers, Eddie you cannae lose ya troosers😂😂
Markwildcamp definitely go back to look for the other wrecks. Apparently 19 of them. Not all have wreckage like. Braydon crag was the one we were going to but the weather turned. Be back though. Aye the hi vis man of the moontins 😂
@@AndyWardle aye braydon crag is the famous one with the story of the survivors found by a local sheepdog and it was awarded the dickens medal
Markwildcamp there a memorial to the dug in that garden area.
Better than dog shit lol, remember that ?😬. Canny vid marra, good cast too. That wind hasn't stopped since last year, it's always there ffs, nightmare. Interesting wreckage, is that on Braydon Crag above Hen Herl or is it another one?
Deffo catch you for one soon before the years oot, Atb
Miles from anywhere it’s Braydon mate. It was too foggy to go over this time. Definitely going back though. I love stuff like that. Eerie but fascinating. Sick of the wind like it’s endless. Spoils it really. But better to be Oot. Hope you’re well mate. Atb 💩 💩 😆
