I was just about to post a thanks on making it sound normal to have a child in the background haha. (In my case I will have a non stop child speaking to me while trying to do this too! lol.) Thank you for showing how easy it is.. you really don't have to use a hand drill, do you?? (I am sure the job is faster.. but screw driver do it just the same?) Thanks!

With the Maytag range, it is best to pull the range away from the wall and remove the small back plate near the bottom, the element has very long attachment points and is easily serviced from behind, you will not be able to pull the wires from the element and be able to have any useable wire length to reattach......save yourself a lot of grief and misery and pull the range out and remove two screws from the back.

I just replaced my element because it burned out, but I noticed it was not glowing red all the way around, it goes dark in the back left corner. Is that normal? Or did I get a bad element?
