lil disclaimer these type of vans tend to leak from the black suede part so try not to oversoak your shoes while washing

chellada What type of paint do you use for the vans and does it smudge or anything?
Its angelus direct paints! They have tons of videos with tips. The paint doesn’t smudge from what I’ve seen, it stays on pretty well! Angelusdirect.com
Are there any other paints that i could use???
i use bleach and a little brush and carefully go over all the white spots and then use a sharpie on the black spots it takes awhile but it work and please be careful with bleach and wear gloves
My vans are so beat that it has a blue ish ink on the laces and white boxes

you can use shaving cream for the bottoms, or nail polish remover with a cotton ball for the bottoms. (thank me later)

buy some angelus shoe paint/dye and look up how to use it to repaint the checkers
I have the same ones but I kinda didn’t know how to wash them so I used a brush scrub thing and soap I did the checkered part.. I kinda removed some of the black from the checkered squares, I should’ve watched a video first 🤦♀️

My checkerboard print is turning blueish and don’t know how to fix it and so are my shoe laces
Beyan Abusaif i use a mix of baking soda and laundry detergent for my laces
they turn blue/green because the black pigment is made with several pigments such as green , blue and even red i combat this on my vans by sectioning out the area and taking india ink and brushing it on the needed area.
How come my there is blue ink all over my show after washing them and I Can i get rid of it

if you have clorox wipes, then those work just as well. they worked perfectly with me and took almost all of the stains out. i also used toothpaste to get the rest of the dirt off.
Mine are so beat the toe box is ripped I don’t need laces for them my sole is coming off they have no grip the little swoosh thing on one side I gone and the off the wall logo on the back is gone

I have these shoes and my main advice is DO NOT APPLY CREP PROTECT SPRAY ON THE CLOTHE ON TOP,it ruined the fabric and now has thread like fabric spiking out of the shoe.im always takin care of my shoes.

Ajili sorry to hear that. yeah these leaked a bit too, I didn’t oversoak them in water. I think the black leaks for everyone once they’re washed.

Extra slow extra careful or just put tape around the boxes make it easier

Hey I know this video is 2 years old but I got my vans soaking wet, and I checked and there is some blueish grayish ink that came off the black spots and came onto the white squares and laces. Is there anything I can do to fix them or not?
For the 2-soft is it the Angelus 2-soft fabric medium? Or did u mix in smth else with the paint

Anonymous Cookie i forgot to mention i mixed the paint with the 2 soft at a 50:50 ratio! So about the same amount of each and then mixed. :)

Marleni Vasquez I think the flat black is less glossy than black, I was very confused with the difference as well, but that’s what I had seen somewhere. You can always message the company on instagram for a clear response! I just chose to go with the flat black
@chellada I have the vans checkerboard (the ones that are all checkerboard, no black suede part) and i cleaned 1 square with a wet wipe and now from the black square some kind of whitish fibers are visible which make the square look faded, do you know if i can fix it and how?

Coolwolf 36 I ordered the black paint online from angelusdirect.com , the foam was a soap foam. You can try Clorox wipes to clean the rubber part of the shoe too (: or maybe even nail polish remover for tough spots

Yung Goat i’m aware but they’ve gone a really deep yellow, like an actual yellow.

Panda's DIY Next time you wash your Vans the sharpie will most likely smear across the rest of the shoe.
You can but the next time you wash your vans they will smear
Don't use sharpie once your vans shoe is dirty the sharpie will spread

for the soles i just mixed bleach and detergent together and wiped them it turned out pretty white

You can use a Clorox wipe to get the dirt off easily, and then a brush and some laundry detergent should work (:

Adnan CS I haven’t tried it myself but if you used the same paint that I did (Angelus leather paint) and added 2 Soft to the paint (turns the paint into fabric paint) it should stay

Melii Rojas hey! I’ve always used acrylic paint for stuff that the material is canvas. (Shoes, Backpacks, etc.) but the brand of the paints I used are called Angelus Direct and so far they are the best paints I’ve used for stuff like shoes and backpacks. You can always try another brand of acrylics but I don’t know if they will be the same quality. I’ve never tried fabric paint before so I can’t tell you much about that. (:

where's my rooptoff the double sided one was from this UGGs shoe care set I think it’s called a nubuck brush, for the uppers I used the big brush with the yellow bristles I think

Yes any of those could work, i just used that certain pen because it has a fine tip which makes it way easier. A sharpie wouldn’t be your best option since it will most likely leak (:

Angelus paint is good for the black checkers if you have a steady hand and the paintbrushes from Angelus. They don't bleed/stain or crack after drying so you could clean your vans again.

It’s foam Tex from angelus ! It’s good for cleaning up recent dirt from your shoes but it’s not the best for when the dirt has been on your shoes for a while

if i was you i would use shoe paint ( pretty pricey) but a cheaper alternative is enamel paint or fabric paint

Jason Rodriguez usually with sharpie, when it’s out in the sun or just overtime it fades into a purple color, if you were to wash them again the color could possibly bleed out and mess up your shoes. I’m not too sure tho, you could also check online and see if a sharpie fabric marker would work better. I haven’t personally tried it, but this is just what I think (:

Vanish wet the shoes put vanish or anything similar on it don't scrub it then after like 2 3 hrs rinse it off

I wouldn’t recommend it because I’ve seen sharpie fade into a purple over time, you could try the fabric sharpies but personally I’ve never tried either, its your call :) also most markers will bleed a bit after being used on fabric

King soap yes you should use 2-soft, I only used Angelus leather paint on another pair of shoes, and the paint started to come off a bit and I tried washing them and some paint came off. So just use 2-soft on the fabric, and normal leather paint on the leather strip (:

Amy Hernandez 2soft is an additive. You add it to the paint to turn the leather paint into fabric paint. The 2 soft makes the paint flexible on the fabric once it’s dry

No! Do not use sharpie. I did this and it bled through fast
The paint spread all over. If you already used sharpie, use acetone to spread off the sharpie and make it come off and use tide and warm water for it to completely come off
