2006 NLCS Game 7 was epic, Endy Chavez’s catch, Wainwright fanning Beltran on the most wicked curveball you’ll ever see with the bases loaded, truly a classic in postseason history... it’s a shame Beltran’s mostly remembered for that strikeout instead of his stellar career
The 86 Mets had a game ending double play in San Diego. Liner into center. Dykstra throws home to third string catcher John Gibbons who gets leveled, but holds onto the ball. Then he throws the ball to third to get that runner.
if the mets won that game 7, then on to win the world series, that endy chavez catch wouldve been the greatest in mets history and one of the best ever, but unfortunately its almost forgotten.
Gets an out in home plate collision, makes throw with broken leg to try to get second out, receives throw while still on the ground, tags out second runner, gets left off of craziest double play video.
The ball was barely over the fence in that first clip, the commentators were exaggerating quite a bit. The most impressive part of that play was the throw not the catch.
poocrafter2 you're an idiot. pause at 1:04 / 1:05 obviously when they say well over the fence they're referring to well over the fence to where it is a very difficult play to rob the homer. they're not saying it's a monster home run
That play by Ozzie smith is insane .To be able to make that play with your feet tucked in the air and still have enough gas in your arm to throw him out is crazy
Better than Willy Mays' catch. It took 2 runs off the board in a Game 7. Mays' catch happened in a regular season game. The Mets lost that game, but beause of Endy they had a good chance in the 9th inning. It was significant.
Interesting how Carlton Fisk looks disgusted, waving off his mitt after his double play. I would expect that after an error out there, not after such a great play.
Whoever did the editting went on for way too long about each play, just show it once or twice I don't need to see the detailed recap and announcers talking about it for 2mins
0:10 man that is a long throw. Lol
SportsGeek 36 I measured it on Google maps and it was approx. a 360 ft throw😟
Finger banging Your mom
What do you mean?
The real MVP is the double-fisted out call at 4:10.
My person! I was just thinking that same thing, and I'm an A's fan 🤣🤣🤣 dudes a straight stone cold superhero, like 🤛🏼👩🏻🦲 . . . 👩🏻🦲🤜🏼
Scoring each:
0:00 - 8-2-4
2:16 - 4-3-7-2
3:24 - 1U
4:48 - 5-3 (pop out)
5:24 - 7-6-3
6:30 - 9-4-2 (base hit, runners out advancing at home)
7:38 - 4-6-3 (but required a leap by the Wizard of Oz)
7:58 - 8-6-2 (same as 6:30)
Imagine sliding a 4-3-7-2 into a conversation. Nobody would believe me! 😹
Thank u
How did he air mail it from the warning track
Great arm strengh
Adrenaline
steroids
Definitely not roids
He secretly replaced his arm with a catapult.
Lot's of great plays but a unassisted DP by the pitcher just sticks with me
Great catch on the first clip. But "Thank you catcher..."
R J crazy part is if he hadn’t airmailed it, no double play
@@suryatallavarjula3184 thank you CAPN OBVIOUS
Endy Chavez’s play is the still the best in my book due to the game it was played in
I remembered seeing the play live after seeing it again. Don’t remember the game though. What was it, an NLDS game or wild card?
@@leahcimolrac1477 NLCS Game 7
Funny thing is that play didn’t matter at all

Because the Mets failed to capitalize on it.

Laureano’s arm is ridiculous
Now add Michael Brantley diving catch in alcs game 6
This video should just be called "bad baserunning into double plays"
Jameson Bornholdt some are just great plays
That wat i was sayin
Yep, besides Ozzy Smith's.
Oh that thumbnail.. You're getting me emotional.

Time for an update after the Cardinals vs Cubs double play on September 25 2021
Damn right
“UNBELIEVABLE”
if the mets won that game 7, then on to win the world series, that endy chavez catch wouldve been the greatest in mets history and one of the best ever, but unfortunately its almost forgotten.
Who is a better fielder?
Like: Ramon Laureano
Comment: Mike Trout

6:41 - 6:45 When you hit the wrong button on MLB: The Show
captainsworld1986 so true it pisses me off so much when it happens :(
@@Chrisbuescher17 It's like once you pull the trigger, that's it!
captainsworld1986 yea I got diamond players and they just plainly miss the ball, game is so bad this year they better fix it
MLB is the best sport
Some great plays for sure. Fun to watch. Great video
Just to be clear...Laureano threw that ball from the left center field warning track almost into the first base dugout...ok
Great seeing Ozzie Smith again! I shoulda expected it.
You missed the 1992 chaotic World Series play where the Jays actually got a triple play, but it was only called a double play.
terpfan99 Deion was out! Umps missed it, what a shocker.
Also bad base running, like most of these. But truly a wacky weird double play.
Overlooked because they won the game anyway, but why was Edmonds halfway to third? If it’s going to be a homerun why run??
Really awesome plays. Was fun to watch. Great video
You missed Buck Martinez turning a double play while injured
Gets an out in home plate collision, makes throw with broken leg to try to get second out, receives throw while still on the ground, tags out second runner, gets left off of craziest double play video.
Almost rolled out of chavese's mitt

You talk about it like the catch wasn’t a big deal. Robbing a homer is very tough, in every scenario. But that throw is worth watching over and over
Great catch. Great throw ? About 30 feet too long.
I was at the Laureano game against the blue jays. Still my voice is scratchy after screaming in happiness.
Mctighe boys I feel you man. A’s fans unite!!
Athletics21 Ayy
Carlton Fisk is badass.
Worth the while if only for the 1 unassisted double play.
That play by Ozzie smith is insane .To be able to make that play with your feet tucked in the air and still have enough gas in your arm to throw him out is crazy
man the first throw was a monster throw
5:24 this play would be so much better known had the Mets won
Faltó el de Manny Ramírez que choca al público y hace el doble play
OMG 😍 what a play... nice compilation
Look at the guy in the front at 6:55. Walked into the barber and said "I'll have one of those Javale McGeeeeeees."
5:33 Sin palabras la jugada de Endy Chávez ejecuto todo perfectamente wow
Better than Willy Mays' catch. It took 2 runs off the board in a Game 7. Mays' catch happened in a regular season game. The Mets lost that game, but beause of Endy they had a good chance in the 9th inning. It was significant.
This list is BS. Somehow Jonny Gomes' unassisted double play from 2013 didn't make it on this list. People, he was playing left field in that game!!!
had a big poster of that endy chavez catch on my wall as a kid. forgot it was a double play
no reason to have these clips showing every angle 100 times
That was my thought exactly.
usually when you are off by that much with a throw its embarrassing, but instead in this case its insanely impressive. wow.
In history?? I didn't know the MLB was 10 years old!?
For the record, that first one was an 8-2-4 double play.
Why did you not swing Beltran?
Was that JD Drew or Stephen Drew on the Dodgers?
Sam Maluth JD
DP 1 (unassisted) is wild
He earned his millions in that one !!
I love the vids
Great vid
Were is Ben reveres phillies catch and double play verse the reds?
My brother also caught a foul ball with the chicken in his hand
Interesting how Carlton Fisk looks disgusted, waving off his mitt after his double play. I would expect that after an error out there, not after such a great play.
No Adam Jones ? When he robbed a homerun and threw it to 2nd for a double play
The frame rate makes the video infinitely better.
Some of these are just poor base running.
"poor" is a generous word. Some of these are just downright DUMB
7:46 yo que pensé que sólo Michael Jordan caminaba en el aire 😁
Ozzie Smith was a showman and a brilliant athlete. He had Jordan like electricity as a defensive shortstop.
Dale Berra was cut from the team after that play.
Whoever did the editting went on for way too long about each play, just show it once or twice I don't need to see the detailed recap and announcers talking about it for 2mins
no buck martinez? he tagged two out at home while injured.
Justin smoak is a big guy, combined with that cannon in c.f. and by the catcher, I'm offended as a Bluejays fan.
6:41 and 8:06 - third base coaches, time to find another line of work.
Even tho endy Chavez made the catch the cards still won the game
Lol that’s a highlight itself
Snow cone!?
Graveman tagged Revere with his glove-ball was in his hand-who knows the rule?
How could you not include Mays’s?
It wasn't a double play.
ahh, i like Dallas Braden
2 mins of the same clip is stupid
