  • In this step by step wood carving tutorial I show you how to carve a funny wood spirit sculpture in a simple way.
    The wood that I use in this video is Robinia pseudoacacia, it is a very hard wood and it is not the best grain for carving but it is to teach you that you do not need high quality wood to practice. I collect any discarded wood and test its qualities and defects.

    Carving with a knife is very dangerous. That's why I only carve with chisels. But I like such carvings.

      Gouges and chisels can be very dangerous too. It's all about handling them properly.

      Hola Sandra, no, las navajas comunes no son muy buenas para tallar. Las hojas suelen ser demaciado grandes. Se puede usar pero en diseños muy sencillos sin muchos detalles.

      Eso es madera de falso acacia, Robinea pseudoacacia, es muy dura no es ideal para tallar pero al final queda un tallado resistente y un hermozo color amarillo.

    Une question peut-on aussi sculpter le bois vert avec un Dremel ?
    Merci d'avance

    • @CharlyBrunetSculpture
      @CharlyBrunetSculpture  7 месяцев назад +1

      Oui, possible pour du bois dur. mais bon pas recommendable car le bois va se fissurer en sechant.

      @@CharlyBrunetSculpture ok merci mais avec les couteaux aussi je suppose ?

    • @CharlyBrunetSculpture
      @CharlyBrunetSculpture  7 месяцев назад +1

      @Artsens oui. Sauf qu'avec les couteaux c'est plus facile de tailler dans le bois vert qu'avec un Dremel. Mais après le bois risque de fendre de toute manière au séchage.

    • @CharlyBrunetSculpture

      Gran pregunta, no hay mejor madera, yo tallo de todo, cada madera tiene sus ventajas y desventajas. Sin embargo las maderas mas queridas por talladores son por ejemplo el cedro o el tilo entre otros.

    Good video. Great help, but why the glove; you're constantly cutting toward you bare thumb; the glove serves no purpose - just saying.

    • @CharlyBrunetSculpture
      @CharlyBrunetSculpture  Год назад +1

      The glove is useful for eventual big blows that could go out of control. The other hand is unprotected because it is the one with the knife, it is practically impossible for it to cut me. The only thing that happens is, as you say, the blows to the thumb, but they are small controlled blows.
