Tim, being that your coming from a Kubota, you'd be happy to know that the engine in the CAT 306 is actually a Kubota engine! I cant say for sure but I believe the Kubota engine number is V-2403. Likewise, cat 259d, 289d, and 299d skid steers all use Kubota engines, simply rebranded as a CAT engine through paint and stickers. (CAT C3.3b is a Kubota V3307) (Cat C3.8 is a Kubota V3800T) Some interesting information just thought I'd share.... I own a 306 that just turned 800 hours and have no complaints about the machine, its a real workhorse. I think you would be more than pleased with that machine.
They all use each others engine, hell, Kubota uses Cat, yanmar and Kawasaki, all great motors, great machines. JD excavators are all rebadged hitachi. A ton of Cats are built in China and Japan. Seems to be no equipment sourced completely in one nation, every big company like those have plants all around the world, only way to compete in a global economy i spose.
Man this was an awesome day. I can't thank you enough for coming up here and running the 306. From watching you years ago and to finally meet you is just surreal. Fan girl 9000 🤣🤣
You can also get it with the extra counter weight. Mine has one and it's pretty large. Also it has stick steer mode where you can press a button and track like a skid steer. Really impressed with mine. Had a 305.5E2 before and the 306 is no comparison beast of a machine.
TIM all the hours that you been behind the controls on the Jd loader showing up!!!!! Number One ❤. Love watching your magic touches with a good machine. It’s amazing what Electro hydraulic has done for equipment
Cotontop3 Dude you should trade in your Kubota and buy one of these. I been looking at different mini excavators and the best machine I found for the $$ is in my opinion is the Cat 306.
have a 2018 307Ell 3000hrs been a good machine. Also have a Diamond disk cutter 36 in. about 1/3 of the hrs are running the cutter. It's all the machine needs I believe the 309 would make a lot better cutter machine. For my use I don't want a swing boom machine.
My cousin has the same machine. I rented it from him to do some under brush clearing and it will rip youpons out of the ground like nothing and even sapplings up to 3 or 4 inch diameter. Now part of that is because we have really sandy soil but the machine is still a beast.
That 306 should be able to rip bigger saplings out than that. My 304e2 will rip 3-4 inch saplings out of the ground no problem, and we don’t have sandy soil.
Nice machine Tim, that would be a nice fit for your application, the thumb is the only thing, especially picking up small things, but you have a grapple so that joker would be takin off, pretty cool man, thanks for sharing 💪🇺🇲🤙✊👌
Very nice machine! Would love to have those steel tracks with the rubber pad option on my E55, but I’ve been very impressed with mine handling big logs, especially on the blade side.
In all honesty I'm not overly impressed with Cat mini and midi excavators my new job we have a 303.5 and 308 the 303.5 doesn't have any power its real tippy when you start getting on any kind of slope. The 308 one word to describe it awkward it has servo controls its not pilot controls the machine has absolutely no feel.
Really well maintained. But does it require the DEF fluid in California??? I guess they all do. Defeat report Cotton. Hope it is what your looking for. But, big money. Semper if my friend
You should try our Yanmar digger i’ve been very happy with mine coming from are you 55 to the VIO55 I wouldn’t go back to the Kabota chat because the Yanmar is a lot smoother for trimming
How did you like the CAT compared for your KX57-4. Also the thing people dose not think about when buying a new equipment is a good company and dealer that will always 100% back there warranty CAT has the best warranty in the business. There a reason they have been in business as long as they have been
My 305 is a beast, the CATs are way better machines than the Kabota and the resale is a lot better too. If you get a brand new one you will be beyond spoiled. Only thing that compares in my books is the Takeuchi.
I sure hate I missed you stopping by! Me and Lindsey were fangirl-ing just a little when you called last night! Hope you stop back by soon, I’d love to meet you! @smithworx1091
That was pretty cool of you to mention Lindsey's channel while you were there. He is a good fella and that will certainly help out his channel...
Sam

Mighty stuff Tim and Lindsey, very nice machine👌👍🙂

I'm dying lol!!!! I'll be back lol
Ditching the 306? Lame! That’s how I found your channel!
@Deeper4Cheaper lol I wouldn't call it ditching. Hopefully a see you later
Nice, I picked up a 306 last year, not complaints. Like you said, real fast, takes some getting used to.
Cool, exciting to possibly get a new machine 👍. Cheers !
🔥🔥🔥 THAT’S A SOLID LITTLE MACHINE
I really want a next gen CAT. I want a 310!

I like the idea of the skid steer controls because I'm so used to having them. Do you use it a lot?
And it's Kubota powered as is all the compact Cat equipment.
I been watching his stuff! Pretty cool dude
I've had one since 2020 and it's a fine machine for sure, strong and never given me any trouble works great with a brush mower on it too;;;;;;;
Good looking machine. Nice looking dogs. Looked like one of them wanted to play with the Cat.

Wow that thumb has some impressive power crazy!!
Clint from C & C Equipment had a few of the 306's with low hours .
the pin grabber on those is also very nice also has way more creature comforts for the operator

I demoed the cat 306 for a day, but went with the Kubota KX-80. I think more bang for the buck.
Beth and Rip 😂
Good evening Mr Tim. God bless you and Jill. Thank you for keeping us entertained with the amazing content bud ✌️👍🙏🙏
My pleasure
The new -5 series kubota aux hydraulic switch is on the joystick right under the toggle for the aux. Real hard to cycle on and off.
I’m surprised at the lifting capacity at full extention! Wow

@@jfitz9624 I didn’t say that it reached its limit. I said it ripped them out with ease.
C&C equipment has a nice 308 for sale!
Nice machine Tim, that would be a nice fit for your application, the thumb is the only thing, especially picking up small things, but you have a grapple so that joker would be takin off, pretty cool man, thanks for sharing 💪🇺🇲🤙✊👌
Thanks 👍
it is a good size unit, with plenty of power too, apparently.
Very nice machine! Would love to have those steel tracks with the rubber pad option on my E55, but I’ve been very impressed with mine handling big logs, especially on the blade side.
Thanks 👍
Tim, was this the standard stick? And would the aux flow work well with a stump auger attachment as well as your Rotobec?
It would all work with it no problems.
Just curious what are your thoughts on cat machines as a whole
💪👍👍 👍
Good unit even has a very useful great video Tim thanks for the play time
Glad you enjoyed it
did you say kubota updated there mini excavator with safety button on the joystick for the auxiliary hydraulics
Yes
@@cotontop3 right on of kubota taking people feed back that upgrade kit is going expensive on kubota past history
What is it’s gross weight???Do they come pre plumbed for compactor , drill, etc decides the claw circuit.

Berat nya berapa ton alat ini
That 4 Tooth bucket would have to go.
Did you get rid of your kubota?
Hey Tim , surprise you got an enclosed cab.?
What about the 308 cat size
Caterpillar 308E excavator | trying it out!
ruclips.net/video/I2fGtiGeOxM/видео.html
Tim would a 308 be to big for the kind of work you do?
Yes it would
You should try our Yanmar digger i’ve been very happy with mine coming from are you 55 to the VIO55 I wouldn’t go back to the Kabota chat because the Yanmar is a lot smoother for trimming
You need to learn how to put your dirt back in the hole and put the dirt on the side of the hole. That way you ain't putting your topsoil in first lol
What a beautiful machine
Yes indeed!
How did you like the CAT compared for your KX57-4. Also the thing people dose not think about when buying a new equipment is a good company and dealer that will always 100% back there warranty CAT has the best warranty in the business. Also as a side note Digginglife21 has a 309 I believe and he came from a Yanmar to CAT
A lot to like about that
My 305 is a beast, the CATs are way better machines than the Kabota and the resale is a lot better too. If you get a brand new one you will be beyond spoiled. Only thing that compares in my books is the Takeuchi.
What’s way better about them?
I’ve heard if it ain’t a Cat then it’s a dog!!
Is that what you have?
Can you transport a cat 306 on your current trailer Tim ?
Yes sir
either your mic isnt picking it up or it doesn't whine like ld18's yanmar.
No whine. It was very quiet in the cab.
60g much smoother controls
I sure hate I missed you stopping by! Me and Lindsey were fangirl-ing just a little when you called last night! Hope you stop back by soon, I’d love to meet you!

I'll be back, don't worry 🤣🤣
