Great video! I agree, the Purple Audio MC77 and Townhouse Bus Comp are absolutely fantastic. If I may, I'd like to point out that a possible reason your ear is more drawn to the Purple Audio is because the attack and release knobs are reversed, in that 1 is slow, and 7 is fast, like the Urei and UA 1176. In my experience, particularly with drums, a slow attack and fast release sounds much better to me than a fast attack and slow release. Less pumping, and more attack and oomph. Give it a try with your other comps. I'd be curious to know what you think! Though if you're like me, the Purple and Townhouse still win ;)
