    Hope you’re ok.

This reminds me about a book I found on peripersonal space: The Spaces Between Us: by Michael Graziano .
If that goes awry one might find it difficult to distinguish (and gain comfort from knowing) where a person ends and the environment begins.

There are many ancient & contemporary systems for developing heightened awareness of the bodymind's signals: Vipassana meditation, yoga, deep bodywork therapies (such as shiatsu, deep tissue, thai massage and others), deep relaxation and subtle energy therapies (such as reiki), dynamic meditation and Holotropic Breathwork are all excellent methods, provided one applies genuine effort over time.

    This is fascinating!
When I was very young I used to listen to my heartbeat as a stim. This is the first time I've heard anyone mention doing that.
There are traditional meditation techniques rather like this (internal focus). It makes me think that you're onto something.
This is great that you're looking for ways to address the need for stability/sameness in a way that is achievable and not restrictive/problematic.

My daughter moves stuff around. Why ?? Furniture goes where it goes !!! I moved in and it’s done. Yes, I want permanence.

Alexathymia is more about emotional feelings than bodily feeling, isn't it? I don't gave stims or restrictive interests but my spouse thinks I'm on the spectrum. I passed the tested and thus I continue in grayness. Alone. The only perminance isn't it? I'm not a fan.
I just figured out who you remind me of... Do you happen to watch a lot of John Stossel? Your infections are similar at times.
