Chippys you're a god damn machine. Hope you're getting enough rest and recovery time after pumping out so many videos, I'm sure editing these takes a long time too. Thanks for all you do man!
I am a fan of the smaller youtube channels of pro coaches and players. You are by far the best ive seen of 20+ youtube coaches. All of your content is amazing and really helpful. I play midlane more and wished there was someone as good as you for mid lane videos.
I watched this video sometime ago and learned a lot. Was recommended it again and figured I'd forgotten some of it. Boy oh boy did I forget a lot! I've seen a lot of wave management videos from other creators and this is by far the most in depth.
LET'S GO, THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF MY MOST WANTED VIDEOS FOR A WHILE! Huge respect for how consistently and quickly you're able to pump out such great content, your guides are the best on the platform
Having a person this well spoken, with this much passion and understanding really raises the quality of the game. Between you, alois and coach eragon me and others have been able to climb quickly
Man, you are insane actually. I consider myself a quite high rank player but I'm not really thinking about the waves when I'm playing, it became more unconscious thing for me. It hasn't been long since I found your channel but I'll follow your videos regularly, I'm sure they will teach me a lot. From now on I'll try to implement some of these tactics to my game. I hope I'll climb one or two ranks with these. Thanks a lot again!! Keep up the work
Not sure I'm smarter now or this video is the best video I've seen in wave management since I started learning LOL instead of just playing. Now I understand why so many issues keep happening in my games, even though I would watch this sort of content all the time.
This is such a great video. Every concept was so easy to understand. Never once in this guide did I feel overwhelmed. It just made sense to me. Thanks!!!!
You've done great things for me man, I was already a pretty solid player but the things I've learned from just watching your videos have helped me improve 200% laning phase-wise at least because my macro was again, already pretty decent. I can't thank you enough for what you're doing for the top laners out there who don't really have much to rely on except for replays on champ vs champ.
Actually such good info. After watching the last few guides on champions and this, my CS has gone from 7.5-9.5 per min regardless of my opponent (Diamond Elo) just by making smarter plays and manipulating waves
Hi Chippys thank you for the amazing content. I have a question for you: do I have the possibility to choose 2/3/4th wave crash every game or I have control on that only on even or good matchups?
Chippys this content has been so useful for me. I just wanted to say thank you so much because these videos make me feel like I understand the game so much better than I used to. I was wondering if you knew of any similar content creators for other roles? I have been playing olaf top since I started your content and climbed from bottom of gold to mid emerald, but I do like to play other roles and would love to improve my understanding of the game in other areas as well. Thank you so much for doing what you do and for making this content.
Amazing video! I have a question regarding freezing: So if I understand it correctly, you want to freeze to get an advantage, but once you have an advantage over your opponent or you are behind freezing is actually not worth it, right? The logic being that if you are ahead, crashing waves allows you to roam and extend your lead on other lanes/objectives, potentially dive your opponent, get plates, proxy/eat enemy jungle and basically get ahead more and faster than if you kept denying them minions, right? And if you are behind, freezing might first not be possible (since enemy can just walk up and break your freeze), but even if it you can hold it, it's letting your stronger enemy freeroam and extend their lead on the map, right? Do I understand it correctly or am I missing something?
Hey, quick question because I see this all the time. Whenever I watch high-elo VODs and they go for the demolish proc or whatever, the enemy top lets them do it, focussing the wave. When I do it in gold-plat the second I come close he always jumps on me and I need to retreat. What is the reason that they let you do it like in the example around 52:46. great video and content as always, cannot wait to see your channel grow.
As a Camille main I think Camille is going to rely on flash more since the walls are further apart and you can’t just e away and a lot of her trading opportunities are gonna have to be where she is on her side of the lane or the enemy side of the lane so she can use her e also with divine being gone a lot of matchups where she just wins cause she gets divine isn’t gonna be the case anymore which is going to make her a lot harder to play because you won’t be able to braindead divine check a lot of matchups like she currently does
as a camille main i think she will be weaker next season due to reasons the guy above already mentioned + that the new objectives favor champions that spike with their level 6
I do think the one thing going for Camille in season 14 is the new Tiamat changes it will help a lot of matchups early where struggles into because her lack of waveclear and make it to where she can actually contest wave without using her entire kit on it
The dead zone will make her worse of a blind pick, a lot easier for her counter-picks to run her down, also they're removing sunderer so there's a good chance she will be weaker next season
great video, I have a question : if you're playing a champ with a weak early game like garen, you're gonna get pushed in. What waves do you want the ennemy laner to crash into your tower ? Does it matter ?
You ideally want them to crash on wave 2 because it's a really awkward wave to crash on. You can bait this by making them hit you and your minions with their aoe.
Very glad to see that final example of all the concepts you discussed coming together to win you that leaning phase against trundle. But now I am curious, Trundle made a big mistake early getting low from Gwen Q poke. But now that that ship has sailed and Trundle is behind and having these techniques leveraged against him. Would you say that his gameplay up to the point where he was killed by Poppy was proper? Or was there something different that he should have been doing to mitigate the damage from the proxy and freeze setup that isn’t just praying for jungle intervention?
How does this "once minions lock onto tower, they dont change target" thing works? I swear when i hardcrash a wave and the enemy wave arrives, my minions switch focus and start hitting that wave under enemy tower, or am i wrong?
idk am I the only one thinking you touched on many aspects of lane management but never explained fully? Cuz after watching the whole vid I still don't understand fully lol.
This is probably the most detailed wave control guide out there rn - really well done
Chippys you're a god damn machine. Hope you're getting enough rest and recovery time after pumping out so many videos, I'm sure editing these takes a long time too.
Thanks for all you do man!
Appreciate the comment, will get some rest in for sure

great video and content as always, cannot wait to see your channel grow.
Awesome video. Question for you, why didn’t you hard push the wave after killing trundle to get a reset? (At the end of video)
Because I was full hp full mana I didn't need to base, so it was better to hold a freeze
Opinion on camile in season 14 having a "DEAD ZONE" in the middle of toplane (no E avaliable)? Thank you for your guides.

Nice video, but I am really missing the recall timers, especially if you get a kill in a suboptimal wave position

W coach
Nice videos :) can you do guide to camile ?
I was locked in every second of this video
how do you get access to watch the pro game VoDs from Worlds?
Is it possible to do a camille video?
Thank you!
Is this class useful for wave control in MID as well?
Yes top lane fundamentals apply to every lane, it’s just the most important top because you win/lose lane depending on minion wave state
Can you please do tiven guide ??
How does this "once minions lock onto tower, they dont change target" thing works? I swear when i hardcrash a wave and the enemy wave arrives, my minions switch focus and start hitting that wave under enemy tower, or am i wrong?
Isn't trading bad in a negative matchup as you want to conserve hp for the bounceback unless you thin the wave enough to make it reset ?
Fucking masterclass
Does this apply in botline?
What would Alois say? FUNDAMENTALS!
like comment subscribe thanks for watching guys
That poor renekton at the end tho
3 casters in mid as long as they’re full hp can freeze but in top you can’t.
I need wave guide for junglers.
Now that I've seen this guide, can you please remove it so that my enemies don't use it against me?
How come you and Broxah have basically the same voice? Or is it just me?
As a baus viewer I thought cheater recall was any recall without dying
ok I understand, the guide is: Do have a Kha'zix jungle helping you
why doesn't that camille have items 18:18
I, as someone who has not yet made it past the intro ads, haven’t learned anything yet 😜
Catch the wave😂
Day 41 of begging Chippys for an Ornn guide
Man is this early Christmas cuz we're getting spoiled with the number of uploads lately
idk am I the only one thinking you touched on many aspects of lane management but never explained fully? Cuz after watching the whole vid I still don't understand fully lol.
first :D
Why does Top lane always have the best coaching
27:18 😂😂
Does this apply in botlane?
