A lot of smart people lack a good friendship is because they always see things on the logical side and not express things emotionally. It’s harder to express empathy and share a bond with another person.

Also having a lot of anxiety can also prevent you from opening up in social situations. Even when people try to be friends with you, your anxiety can get in the way of getting too close to them. Hence having lots of acquaintances, but not a lot of close/best friends

This guy actually has incredible bravery just for making that video and being so self aware. I have incredible respect for him for making that video. To anyone reading this who may feel the same way as him, i would say try meditation and regular exercise. Meditation can help you conquer your own mind/calm yourself down so you dont overanalyze, and not let negativity drag you down, whereas exercise will give you hormone boosts that make you feel better both physically & mentally, it boosts confidence and physical attractiveness, all of which have a profoundly positive effect on your life. Start with improving yourself and stop focusing so much on others, people will naturally gravitate towards you if you do so. Love the serious content mixed with humor boys keep it up!

it’s wild cause as someone who codes and has an understanding of it (my major is information technology), he’s thinking too much in code language for the real world. like in code, simply accidentally putting a capitalized letter can make the whole thing code malfunction, but in real life it isn’t like that. like he’s thinking way too much into code language and thinking the world is the equivalent of 0 and 1, basically 0 means off and 1 means on in code, like all code/computers/etc basically run on that basic setting but real life isn’t like that, like irl you can have 0.3 or 1.6 or 2 or 10, etc i think once this guy can figure out how to separate the two it’ll help alot, because even him making a video shows he’s miles ahead of a lot of people with self awareness but like rob said at the same time he’s miles behind in self awareness, cause even him saying “if else statements” with code it’s finite, but in the real world it’s endless, it’s definitely weird but i’m also definitely rooting for bro cause ultimately he recognized he was causing his own problems and took the initiative to also solve them

Bro I kinda feel the same. Im only 14 tho. I used to have friends that I was content with, but later down the line I got more anxiety and my confidence went down. I mean for most things like in math ,when you find a problem you fix it. The problem is that you can't just make self confidence, it just doesn't work. Then when you can't fix that problem with your own force, you try to find different ways to fix it. Look on the internet, try to think mathematical, copy people language/body movement, and evenly by doing all this you overthink. When you realize that, you kinda feel hopeless ,like you can't fix a problem and there will always be dent that society will frown upon. I mean thats for me. If you have the motivation for people to like you, that yeah just keep working at it. Or you can do the quitter's move where you just say screw it, I'm contempt. Even in that case you become that guy who doesn't care about anything.

I'm just like this guy. He has to stop overthinking and get out of his head. He thinks everything has to be perfect because what he's trying isn't working. I still don't have friends but I haven't put any effort into it either. (Ive been isolating myself trying to self rehab and I am so ugly rn, inside and out) I also have anxiety and depression and I also blamed that on it. Which I think is valid to an extent, but you can't let the self pity take over you. I didn't grow up with a stable routine, I didn't know what was normal or what was expected of society but now that I'm about to be 18, I'm understanding how important that stability is and I'll need one when I get a job if I want to fit in time to exercise, eat, clean, etc. and still enjoy video games and whatever else. One thing I realized myself is that I lack a personality as well. I zone tf out when talking with people, it feels like I'm being pulled to the back of my mind and I can't hear what the other person is saying and it makes me have the most vague "yes/no" responses. Thanks for the tips! I'm going to try being more positive towards myself, putting myself out there and just get shit done instead of overthinking. I'm glad to see he started working on himself too, that's so motivating for me

Basically, what I've noticed in my own self-development throughout life is that you need to take in information and focus on one specific thing until it becomes second nature and can do it without thinking about it. This does involve putting yourself out there and sometimes making a fool of yourself, but eventually you'll get it down. For instance let's say you want to learn how to smile in a more inviting way. You might first start with looking at images of attractive people and see how they smile and then try and replicate their smile and different variations. Then you go out and try these variations on people on the street until you notice one variation gives positive feedback from most people you come across. Finally you practice that smile until you can do it without thinking about it. Now you can move on to the next thing, be it communication, fashion, fitness, and so forth. It's very difficult to teach, but there's a magical place where you take in the right amount of information and then put that information in to practice. Just like anything you have to practice, alter the plan, and tinker until you find the sweet spot

He probably thinks what he has to have stereotypical relationships with people when in reality, you don't have to be funny or charismatic to make friends. There plenty people he would bond with while working on projects, doing activities he's interested in. But because he hasn't explored other sides of himself in his interactions with people, he hasn't seen how confident/charismatic he could be in his own way.

I remembered being miserable in high school even though I had a regular friend group because I couldn't relate to them, they couldn't relate to me, and it was just annoying to deal with. In college, I found it to be very liberating when I get to just be very picky about who I'm friends with while treating those who I can't relate to as a very good acquaintance at most since we'll never be able to discuss certain ideas and things I did without backlash.

Anything that helps you become happy and proud of yourself. When you feel naturally good about yourself and at piece about who you are, you naturally go and seek out others to share your joy with. If youre anxious, depressed and full of shame you'll hardly be in a state of mind or feeling where you feel secure enough to express yourself truly to others.

Because well, im not good at fixing everything there is. Work with whatcha got and improve in a way that motives and inspires you, it's the best feeling to have pride in your ability to turn things around and make things better or more useful to you.
I literally learned grammar by observing chats in games and later, I applied that academically. I didn't just copy and not apply my own logic and understanding, I innovated and used my own brain juices to think things through.
I suck at verbal communication, I'm quite good at writing and words. How I am in writing is so much different from I am in other aspects of life, it's like night and day, I'm more expressive and confident that way.
