Your video gave me the confidence to disassemble/assemble my auto-drum without issue. Mine is a very accurate powder measure and so far has only needed cleaning.

Thanks Kevin. I popped out the retaining ring and gears when I was changing drums and couldn't figure out how to reassemble it. Your video really helped!

Kevin... Thank you so much for making this video. After less than 100 rounds the connecting rod on mine broke in half. Not sure why? I have ordered the Drum Molded Parts Kit and will use your video to replace the connecting rod when it arrives. Without your video, I would be lost... Again, thank you!

I was looking for this exact video. I loaded over 5500 rounds through my Lee auto drum when it developed a malfunction. When I raised the ram to load a powder charge, the internal drum would turn to discharge powder into the case, but when I lowered the ram, the drum did not rotate back to receive another charge. One of the metal ears on the bottom of the aluminum housing body was slightly worn, and this allowed the entire housing to tilt slightly, and this slight movement didn't allow the spring action to work, unless I manually pushed on the housing to move the housing back into true vertical. Then the spring functioned, and rotated the drum to the refill position
FSRELOADING.COM sells a replacement aluminum body for $11.99, but this requires disassembling the old unit and taking out all the plastic internal parts, and reusing them. The housing also does not come with the polymer wiper, but Lee sells them for $1.
So I was very happy to find this step by step disassembly video to guide me on this repair. Thank you very much!

That was a good video. You covered all the steps to take apart and to put back together again. Nice job.

I found out that I had to use the PISTOL attachment to use when reloading 223 cartridges! The rifle attachment would not decrease enough to to charge 223/5.56 cartridges.

Great job explaining and showing how to disassemble the Lee Precision Auto Drum Powder Measure! I follow instructions for installation and the powder dispenser works great, but the expansion of the shell is too much and the bullet falls straight through the shell. Instructions say to decrease the expansion, you should turn the die counterclockwise, then test the expansion. I do this and it reduces the powder dispenser movement. I have tried this 100+ times and cannot reduce the expansion and keep the good dispenser settings. Can you or anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

Is this guy for real!!!!!!!!!!!. Why would anyone want to take a part the Lee Auto Drum Powder Measure. If you clean the Lee Auto Drum Powder Measure after every reloading you will never have any problems. I would not recommend this.

Ernie Murdock the guy in particular that I created this video for was indeed having an issue with his Auto Drum. Just because you fear your ability to make a logical repair is your issue. The video did indeed help the person it was intended for. I personally have 6 of them and rarely have an issue but that doesn’t mean they are all perfect.
Just because you wash and clean your car doesn’t stop it from having issues on occasion.

@@kevinegan65 Yes Ernie, Kevin is for real and performs a very helpful video. After 9000+ rounds one of mine has developed a problem and guess what Kevin? If you call Lee and convince the tech guys you can take the powder measure completely down they will ship you just the metal housing with scrubber and plastic barrel for free!!! Excellent job. Mine now works great again. The metal tangs below the thumb wheel had spread out over time from the jostling on the press causing it to fail to cycle.

Yup he is for real for the real world!!!!!! I bought one of these and it work fine for about a 1000 rounds then would no longer drop powder. Parts probably made in China the fan gear tab broke off so the black arm was no longer connected to rotate the gears. I ordered more of the gears, wipers & metal o-ring. Thanks to this video I'm back in business @least for the first round. Hopefully will make a lot more than a 1000 now. Got spare parts now @ least for next break down.

Yes these are good powder measures but I have had them bind up and kink the plastic parts a couple of times.
