Since I laid eyes on laser machines from LPFK I wanted one for myself. Here is my first achievement in that pursuit:
I equipped the Lioncubs (former Colinbus) CNC Machine with a 2W 445 nm laser diode, made a constant current source and a holder / heat sink. To control laser power and machine movement without interference I configured LinuxCNC to accept M67 commands.
Here are some files you might find helpful if you want to do the same thing: drive.google.com/open?id=0B6S...
"would you blindly trust those glasses?" - good one!
The "snap in sub-goggles" are frames for prescription lenses. Very nice option.
+Fracture Ah why didn't that cross my mind?? I was speculating about additional filters for other wavelengths.
+Marco Reps Speaking of those glasses, where did you buy them ?
+SmiloDTech German online shop: www.insaneware.de/ Its an Eagle Pair 190nm-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5+
***** Thanks !
Finaly something working directly from Lightburn :D
I want that too on my machine! :D
Hot dang I never rode in a convertible before!!!

your steam friends were looking for you.
Hi Marco, great video ! Where did you bought your laser diode and How many watts ?
whats the solution for used remove photoresist layer on pcb?
Can you tell me a bit more about the CNC router you're using in this video for milling the heatsink? Is it a china router like the popular 6040? Keep on the good work! Grüße aus Bayern.
nachbelichtet county24 lcf-1, had to replace a couple of things, then it was slightly better than the china one. But overall not very happy with that machine
Marco Reps In terms of precision or rigidity? Thanks, Markus
My criticism is based on a machine from 2011, so they might have fixed it all by now. But back then they must have pressed in all the ball bearings the wrong way, because they were all stuck to an extent were the shafts were rotating in the bores. Some holes in the frame were oversized, so misalignment was very possible (but if you have the patience, you could fine tune your machine). Trapezoid lead screws in plastic nuts are horrible, that's no surprise. The hollow base plates were a bit warped, so I always used a milled piece of wood. And so on ...
Greatt price is here bit.ly/2zMIolU
We like good prices :)

Hello sir, I was trying to do the step where I can change the z with m67. But I find some errors that said OSError. Can you help me figure this out?
I'm assuming you figured it out?
What milling machine did you use?
I have sometimes a small job for milling machine but it cost me a fortune to send it to a workshop.
I like your video's
Thanks
Neels Groenewald A DIY kit from eBay called LCF-1, but I'll make a much better one soon and videos of course!
Fantastic, I will be building with you.
Regards
Neels
calm down youtube im not gonna buy an cnc router
Is this a better alternative to the PCB laser jet printer?
+Austin Buerkle Potentially! It has a lot more variables (speed, laser diode power, beam focus, beam roundness, ...) but when you have them all figured out, the result will have a much higher quality and better repeatability. Also the machine can be equipped with a drill to have even fewer steps to a finished pcb. I am currently working on those variables and will post a follow-up as soon as I have reliable results.
Sounds promising, I am currently looking at alternatives to the perforated PCB's that require jumpers, time, and patience. Was the printer really that bad?
+Austin Buerkle for single sided, mostly smd designs the printer is amazing. manual drilling is ok too. for many cnc drilled holes and double sided designs it didn't work too well, but i gave up prematurely
Warum machst du keine videos auf deutsch?
Weil es viel mehr Englischsprachige als Deutschsprachige gibt
I would like this video but it's at 420...
