I want to do a cover that merges this version with the orchestra version. I think these lyrics are the superior ones, but that full orchestra versions instrumentals are absolutely breathtaking. But the Spanish guitar work of this version is so fitting. As are the horns and classical strings of the orchestral version. I just think if I can combine the best parts of both versions I’ll have a song that could really fuel popular interest in listening to this highly underrated band.
i read a part in the book Decisive Moments in History about how Conquistadors crossed the panama in 18 days with their heavy armor under the equators sun, suffering from stings and native attacks. Its a manifestation of human's will power in this magnificent, senseless world.
Viva Espana and the brave conquistadors that died in these lands, these soldiers where here hundred years before any english they went all the way to the great plains fighting Indians. Hernando de Soto.. first European documented as having crossed the Mississippi River. De Soto's North American expedition was a vast undertaking. I am glad to have Spaniard and Portuguese, basque blood! These people had nerves to go 100 soldiers agains thousands of Indians!! brave brave men!

I dont understand why Conquistadors were so villainified by history books... The English did the same if not worse when forming the colonies before the U.S. Land is taken by force throughout history. Even the natives understood that. Nobody wants war but they fight to protect or conquer... neather side is right or wrong.
Even charles darwin's grandfather (iirc) told the british crown the Spanish were building universities, roads, and uplifting the natives whilst britain was making an empire of death. The reason why spain is vilified is the black legends, propaganda from England when they were rivals with Spain that has persisted in popular belief so now it's a part of identity politics.

The Conquistadors who invaded the Aztecs and the Incas were the bad ones, the ones who destroyed entire civilizations and their cultures, and massacred their populations. The good ones were the conquistadors that explored much of the southern United States. They were more explorers and settlers.
