Neither finishes good around the goal and their pick and roll defense is horrible. Suns get abused by pick and rolls! The best thing Nurk and Plum do is rebound and they haven’t been great at that lately. Nurk has also been getting off to terrible starts at the beginning of the games and it gives the other teams Momentum.
Beal has lost some explosiveness. Remember that wicked series of moves he put on Caruso and two other opposing defenders? He’s not that guy anymore. He’s more tentative and mentally not quite fully present. I think that style of awesome stepbacks and crossovers has taken a toll on his play. That’s arguably what finished Iverson’s career. Plus Beal seems like he’s playing like he’s constantly worried about getting injured yet again.

Guys, you want them taking contested 3s. The offense is not generating open 3s.. are you watching the game??? The problem is that there is no identity on the offensive end or the defensive end. So the solution is to chuck 3s??? How about an actual offensive scheme with ball movement, cuts to the basket, off ball screens, and consistent durant post play on the lower block.
This. Although the defense is bad, the Suns aren’t running very many plays at all and aren’t cutting enough unlike teams like GSW, Denver, OKC and others. Even just moving around the floor while someone has the ball can be a big factor in generating open looks, the Grizzlies aren’t running very constantly rotating on offense when the ball handler is moving around. It forces the defense to move around to stay close to their man but also puts a lot of pressure on the other defenders to be aware of where/what’s going on while also watching the ball. @ tyus hasn’t been running offense all year. If you watch this pod they’ve talked about it often even when we were 9-1. The offense has more ball movement for sure he helps with that but as far as book and Beal they were initiating the offense still and tyus was in corner.
