I did ok with a freeloader and 1/4 ballhead Sat, but ordered these heads, they seem automatic to get the rolling action and probably on more types of baits. Thanks for the info.
Great video. I notice you are wearing Futrell Marina hat. Several years ago I bought boats from Woody and we developed a friendship but lost touch over time. I’m almost afraid to ask, but is he still with us?
Appreciate ya! Yes sir woody is still with us. He shared some cool stories last week. I do have a great partnership with futrell marine. They still sell rangers with Xpress. I have a basscat but it was bought before my partnership with them. I just actually left the hot springs location
it's not weird ... if you do right hand retrieve both on baitcasting and spinning that's much logical. it's weird when you are right hand retrieve on baitcasting, but when comes to spinning setup you start to retrieve left hand 😂
@@AyCee21 when you put your hook in the bait, just bring the hook point out of the top of the bait a little later than normal so instead of rigging it straight, this will cause the bait to be bowed slightly tail up. Death spiral every time. The lighter your head, the more spiral you get. You got this!
@@AyCee21he’s not wrong but you do need to work if wayyyyy differently slower with pops as soon as u hit the bottom it will get smoked on the fall lol Rigging them straight works great 2 tho
@@TheFishingCoach I'm sure you can. It's a new gizmo that helps to catch fish for sure. There have been some studies that show the numbers go up when using forward facing sonar, but average size goes way down. Big fish live in big fish spots and the smaller fish get displaced and have to roam around in open water where people with FFS chase them around. It's like most technology... Everyone is too busy asking if they can do something without ever asking if they should.
Yeah so I have always loved fishing in the winter. FFS has made it to have high number fish cstch days. Now we did catch big fish this last winter. I was apart of 3 DDs and one of my clients caught a 12.6 and this is in Arkansas. But with that being said if I take it off my boat. Per day I bet my five fish limit average is higher but numbers are way down. Just depends where you are fishing and what part of the country. Like those northern events… the big smallmouth have been found
Strolling is a difficult methodical technique limited to the amount of water you can cover "in most cases". On top of that, not knowing precisely how the fish responded to the presentation because a person doesn't have the ability to watch fish 18' down 70' from the boat. People going around saying they were Strolling up bass without using ffs are the same guy's with ffs that know exactly where the fish are staged because of the forward facing sonar.
Tested this out today next to a boat ramp, knowing fish would gang up there and I caught a dozen. Next test this on the boat at some spots where bigger fish live tomorrow so far I like the action this imparts on my baits.

❤🎉🎉 im happy you got the rolling action down
Amen.
Good post!
Thank you 👍🏽
You need to get you a small aquarium so we can see what's up. Great info man.
I have thought about that.
@@TheFishingCoach it is nice to see it in action
Good stuff Jim, reading scripture reminds me of one of my favorites,Mr. Al Linder. Keep the faith✌
Appreciate ya! Thanks for the words
I'd love to see just a video about knots!
Right! I’m just gonna palomar it and send it see what happens

🤣🤣
Hey Coach E., Do they make them in 1/16 oz for crappie fishing? You should like a Crappie fisherman using the loop knot!😂. GOOD information!!!
I will have to check on the 1/16 size. I bet they do 😁

@@TheFishingCoach That is awesome. I’m so glad to hear about Woody. I’m going to give him a call this week. Keep cranking out those videos.

Thank you! I do not make sense of this either 🤣🤣
When you rig your bait, rig it with a small bow in it instead of straight, you can thank me latter. The bait rocks better and spirals on the fall.

Do you have an example or a pic of what it looks like?

Knots for us knot heads.
🤣🤣🤣
Always a loop knot on many things.

You lost me at "I can still fish without forward facing sonar"
Hahah ok. I actually have a video on this channel recently with no FFs. Did it for 14 years. Even caught fish on the minnow on that video.

Strolling sucks ass especially without ffs.
Well I have caught fish with the jig head without FFs this year.
