Steps to search and book Qatar Airways QSuites
1. Sign up for a free account with both Qatar and British Airways and link your accounts.

Good video. I tried different options booking Qatar BC using BA and AA but so far no luck from Toronto. Qatar website doesn’t even list the award flights.

Hey Max, thanks for the great video! Have you noticed all of the quad/middle seats are all not available? I only see the aisle seats. Am I just booking too late? Or are they all blocked off and I have to call in? I checked around 5 or so different dates
They are blocked until several weeks before departures and they’ll open them up

do u have an idea as to why when i click combine my avios it says ACCESS DENIES
I've been trying to link my accounts together for a few months now, but because of an anomaly with my middle name it doesn't seem to work. The ticket is still is open. The way I've worked around this is by booking "alternative carriers" on the BA site.
Can I do the same with Iberia Avios to Qatar avios ?

You can also link your BA and Qatar accounts so you don’t have to transfer the avois between them.

Now is 05-19-2023 that I find AA can book the QSuite! 😄
I wish I saw this before I booked 😢 I bought my ticket through AA and found out too late that I cannot upgrade using AA miles or Avios, or even to pay. So fyi buying Qatar tickets through AA restricts you from upgrading with rewards.

Note...it now looks like you don't have to actually transfer the Avios points to Qatar to be able to search...just linking the BA account did it for me.
If you have Amex points, could you bypass British Airways and transfer from AMEX to Qatar and then check the cost of the flights (with avios) ?

I tried following all of your instructions but I put in for a round trip and I did not have the option to click on "Book with Avios" after searching for the flights. Will I have to book a one way ticket there and a one way ticket back? What is the best process to book round trip for 2? Thank you!

@@MaxMilesPoints yup! I transferred Avios over. Using your exact method (one way, one passenger), I was able to find availability. As soon as I switched it over to two passengers and round trip, it didn’t give me the option to click on the book with avios button.
The green flag was something I didn’t understand, its always the easy stuff that seems hard ! Cheers
@@tbjdiamonddog The green flag means MORE points award. The standard award is 80K (no green flag) when there is NO more standard awards available then Qatar offers flexi_the green arrow with 210k ..See the difference ?
Thanks for the video. I'm able to find 70k awards to doh but when I add a connection to mle it becomes a flexi award and is priced at 170k, do you know why this is?
Likely because the connecting flight doesn’t have the saver award space

So I transferred 50 Avios and they show in my Qatar account as Avios, but 0 QR points. How do I make those Avios into QR points?
I think you are slightly misleading when you claim @ 5.15 that you can fly on Quites. There is nothing on the booking page that says the aircraft is fitted with the suites and also, the airline can make last minute aircraft changes that could result in you flying in their old business class product. You may want to correct what you've expressed
That is an interesting video. Two Question. 1 - Are Avios the exact same thing as Q Points? 2 - Does One Thousand (1000 Avios ) mean ONE (1 Avio) point? Or when you transferred your One Thousand 1000 Avio from British Airways to Qatar as a ONE (1 Avio) Point, does that mean that the remaining points in your British will be Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine (999 Avio) Points? 1. Q miles are getting phased out to avios.
2. One avios point = 1 avios point
When you transfer 1,000 avios from Qatar to British Airways you get 1,000 avios
@@MaxMilesPoints oh ok. This is good to know. Because I am in Kuwait and when I go to Qatar it says Q points and then Avios. So it is really confusing for me. I really wish they would just stick with Avios and not create something that would be complicated.

Qatar has released very little award space the last several months so I’m not surprised you don’t seee any award availability
found availability without the green flex tag but when I want to book two tickets, it only gives me the options with the green flex tag. Do I book two separate tickets to avoid this?
That means there’s only one saver seat available. If you book two tickets separately one of them will be at the saver rate while the other one will be a lot more points
I know that Virginia Atlantic and Airfrance fly blue have a partnership. Is there a way to use Virginia Atlantic point on Airfrance flyblue. I saw a good deal to London and airfrance portal is showing a flight to London with Virgin Atlantic but I cannot see an option where I can use my virgin Atlantic point. Any suggestion. Thanks
Hey! The only way to use VA points is through VA’s website. So your only option really is to search on VA and find the award availability on VA and book through VA if you want to use your VA points

I have accumilated thousands of thousands of points! Im talking about 900k close to 1m points both amex plat and venture x not to mention amex gold all because I couldnt book a single fricking flight using miles on any airlines. Im pissed

Between the US and Doha it’s mostly qsuites you’ll want to check your flight number and the seating chart before booking. There are several different Qatar business class products.
Qatar airlines is terrible and using avios to upgrade is nearly impossible 🤬 we just flew from Philadelphia to Phuket Thailand threw Doha and even though I have enough Avios and they had availability on the flight they wouldn’t let me upgrade unless I paid a crazy amount. Now I’m stuck with 150,000 Avios that I have no idea how to use 😭🤬 beyond frustrated with Qatar and this whole if the stars and the moon align perfectly then you can upgrade. Glad you were able to make it work somehow 🙏🏼
why i only see green flag.. none with no flag or yellow
Somewhat frustrated cause booking using Avios doesn't have availability for 8+ months out. This entire process hinges on having flight availability and unfortunately there isn't any. Now I'm stuck with 100K+ avios points and no where to spend them
@Maxmilespoints advised to first check availabilty and upon confirming availability then transfer points. I was lucky to book my QSuite JFK-HYD for 85K forba date in April.
Tried this on LAX -MLE and I still cant find any availability until October 27, 2023 for two seats. I have 1k Avios points. I changed to Houston to MLE and nothing at all.

I just randomly searched October 12, 2023 and there 4 flight options from LAX - DOH - MLE

Why can’t you book Qatar QSuites with AA anymore?
AA nor showing Qatar Qsuites award space for some reason. You can still book with AA miles just got to find the award space on British or Qatar and then call AA to complete the booking

No not all business class is qsuites you should check the seat map to make sure it’s qsuites

Because you can repeat the same steps to see economy and the video is about how to book Qatar qsuites which is a more difficult process than booking economy

No not necessarily. The fare bucket for AA business saver award is U economy saver is T

You can transfer points between British and Qatar in one point increments . It goes both ways
There anyway around the whole needing to transfer the minimum 1000 points -> avios first just so I can see the booking availability on Qatar's website? I dont want to commit to transferring any points yet just so I can see whats available to me. Unless there is a way to transfer points back to my credit card points (which I dont think there is).
No way around it unfortunately. You can search on British Airways if you want, in most cases it’ll show the same award availability, but sometimes it can be glitchy and not show the correct award space. And yes you are correct there’s no way to transfer points back to your credit card

I do! I’m a subscriber and I think the award availability alerts alone are worth the $59.99 price that you get for life (before the price increase nov 3rd). The economy cash fares im less interested tbh. The business cash fare deals a cool too. They sent out award availability alert this morning from ORD, NYC, and IAD on etihad. Hopefully you saw that!
