  • A week of fast-paced developments in Bangladesh, which saw Sheikh Hasina's ouster, widespread violence and the formation of an interim government, has been capped off with the country's chief justice agreeing to step down on Saturday. While it is unclear when elections will be held, what is certain is that the Khaleda Zia-led Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), one of the two big political parties in the country, will be playing a key role in them.
Speaking exclusively to NDTV on Saturday, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the general secretary of the BNP, said that the stepping down of the chief justice was brought about by student protests because he was known to be a close associate of Ms Hasina's regime, which "killed many people" in the country.

It's intriguing how the Indian media suddenly shifts its attention to the hardships faced by Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, while just a week ago, students from all communities, irrespective of their religion, were being targeted and killed by the authoritarian regime that Sheikh Hasina has cultivated over the years despite Modi's government having previously dismissed this as Bangladesh's internal matter. What an absolute display of hypocrisy. This selective concern seems less about genuine care and more about strategically crafting a narrative that paints a picture of Bangladesh in turmoil without Hasina’s leadership.

So we will support you and 10 years down the line your current dispensation will become autocratic and you and your opposition will blame India for supporting the govt because it suits your opposition narrative that anti-India stand will win them votes. Then are we supposed to deal with each and every individual B'Deshi.
Bro first think of your stability and then we can talk of regional stability. And you are talking of SAARC in which world you are in, SAARC dead and is finished; BIMSTEC is the future.

    • @faahim01
      @faahim01 Месяц назад

@@AjitKumar-lo9yu Bangladeshi here. I think you've got a fair point. I believe the gray area here is the definition of support. I think, any country, not just India, should support and stand up for the people and democracy. If this was the approach, it'd mean that India would only support a government that upholds those values. If a government turns autocratic down the line, why should India still aid that?
The government holds the power, true. But the source of all that power is the general people. So, if you have to bet on any horse, the smartest option is to bet on people.
The recent instability here has been despicable. I don't think anyone is trying to justify the wrongdoings and we all are trying to get back to stability. But it hurts to see that the Indian media is only adding oils to the fire with all the fake news and propaganda. Instead of taking a role to bridge the gap, they're burning the bridge down.
My biggest fear is all these fake news will only destroy the outlook of the general Indians about Bangladeshi and vice versa, which will only bring more instability. Whereas, we could all live in harmony together.

Otherwise his family (party of politicians) will die for food. My question is which one is needed, the patient (Bangladesh) needs treatment first or should go to work without treatment. If I discharge the patient (Bangladesh) from the hospital without treatment, the patient
If I leave the patient (Bangladesh) from the hospital without treatment, the patient (Bangladesh) spreads cancer to the body of the cancer patient without treatment, and if he dies, what will I do next? I think the patient (Bangladesh) needs urgent treatment, after removing the cancer from his body, the patient needs to be sent to work after treatment. This is good advice and good ideas.

The choices given to Sk Hasina were perfect and just.
The army is not there to defend autocratic rulers and be used by them as a shield to keep them in power despite their ill treatment of people, corruption and atrocities.
The army did it right and it shall remain as a threat to future autocrats. No safe haven in the country for dictators.

Whatever Mr. Mirza says, as far as the people are concerned, the relationship with India will depend on whether India can come clean on its treatment of Bangladesh. India's attitude to Bangladesh was colonial. Yesterday I heard one important person Pankaj Saran saying with glee that India is democratic for itself but never exported democracy. The policy of imposing psychopaths to rule the neighbors must come to an end. However, Bangladesh can go without this India and let India live in their world of lies, stupidity, and arrogance.

You Bangladeshi hate or love BNP, Jammat or even AL is none of India's business.
India helped you in getting a country and what India and Indians now know very well is that you are a bunch of thankless people. After seeing the vandalism that you had done to Mujibur Rahman your thanklessness is abundantly clear. You are a people who are always at war among yourselves and look to blame it on someone else like on Pakistan in 1971 and now on India.
Democracy is alien to you and your country so do not try experimenting with something that does not work for you.
But you can always pretend to be democratic since 1971 but that the delusion you guys have; after every 10 to 15 years you bring in a so called revolution which you expect that we Indians should appreciate. This is stretching your imagination too far.
