- At least two people, including a child, died in tornadoes that swept through Oklahoma, authorities said Sunday as emergency crews assessed the extensive damage to homes and businesses from the high winds, hail and flooding.
Dozens of reported tornadoes have wreaked havoc in the nation's midsection since Friday, with flood watches and warnings in effect Sunday for Oklahoma and other states - including Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

I intercepted 8 of these Tornadoes. At the time during the chase you never truly no the extent of the damage and how many ppl where impacted it really sucks now seeing the true impact and how many ppls lives where changed forever heartbreaking and prayers to all

Hello from Oklahoma! Yeah, it's kinda funny how the weather reporters get when they are having their weatherman orgy. Our weather reporter said, "Hopefully all we will get is liquid water." Hmm... And luckily that's all we got along with some wind.

I'm in Texas, and I kept checking the weather constantly yesterday thinking it was gonna get really bad. Luckily, the worst of it passed through a little to the north of my area, and all we got was really high gusts of wind (around 15-16 mph IIRC).
I wonder about their time in speech course (class) . Seems those coming up the ranks lack skills. I find this in all work sectors.

Is there such a thing as a "minor casualty"? Ok, so a casualty isn't the same as a fatality but still... casualties usually don't walk-away on their own 2 legs. Just saying.

It means any casualty, whether covered by insurance or not, which is not a major casualty.

It's funny how you have absolutely no concept of how much money our government actually has to play-with any given year... and yeah, far too much of it is borrowed money and even more of it is OUR money, but $60 billion is just a drop in the bucket as far as military spending goes. Lived in that area for 10 yrs…glad I moved out of tornado alley.
Trailer houses should be banned, outright! They are a cheap solution to housing, but NOT a good solution by any measure! In tornado alley, why people live in "stick" built houses I do not understand.... build in a hillside or underground or build concrete homes something EXTREMELY SOLID! It just makes good sense.

I think it was over 100 reports.. mostly on the same set of tornadoes. I don’t think they have a count yet
I know from Lincoln to Omaha had 8 seperate tornados. Everytime 1 died another immediately formed in the same cell and all were huge. Same cell dropped a few more in Iowa after it crossed the Missouri river

If I lived there, I'd build my entire house in a hillside or underground or do a concrete house or something... "stick" houses don't hold up well to high winds, no matter how well you build 'em! I'm just far enough inland here in Texas to escape Cat 4 or 5 top wind speeds, and just south enough to be well out of tornado alley thankfully! Not that I can't be touched by high winds, just that I'm where I don't feel the need to build underground to escape them. I wonder how log cabin style homes fair against high winds? The problem I have with using logs to build houses with is they rot in the middle and you cannot replace a rotted log in the middle of a wall in those constructions... but the walls should hold well in a direct tornado strike I'd think.

why do you have the written description about the Oklahoma tornadoes, but only show video of the nebraska tornado? A 4 month old died in the Holdenville tornado as the baby was ripped from his mother's arms.
I think this was about Friday's tornadoes. They probably finished the filming/editing & just posted it. So it's delayed.
We won't have all the information for Saturday night tornadoes until tonight through a couple of days.

Presumably the odds of being affected are low. We all have a 1% chance of dying in a car crash yet we all use cars.
Biggest question is why people live in moore Oklahoma. That place gets beat down every year. Literally has the most tornado hits than anywhere else in the country. Iowa and Nebraska on the other hand are at the edge of tornado alley and usually only get small non violent ones
